They had been no match for her wrath before, what had happened? Was this real? Were her memories real? The cat woman was on her knees again her claws doing nothing, her arms held tight at her sides. She could not help but fight against the bondage, feeling trapped. Her form froze when she heard the whip sound, only now coming for her. When it lashed against her back she let out a horrific scream, unprepared for it, her head snapped back as her spine curled with the pain. The pain that was so familiar, the pain almost like she had had the treatment everyday. The position she should have known and been ready for. Not wanting to give into the mindset of a slave, she struggled again hearing the sound sof her own private hell.

Forty lashes, counted one by one, aching pain shooting through her back after each one. When they were done, they held tight to her so that she couldnt move, the same grim look of death on each face, half hidden behind their helmets. Through the very wall came two more soldiers, pulling a man in their arms whos head was slumped forward and feet dragged on the floor behind them leaving an imaginary trail of blood where he had passed. "Bastet..." He whispered, speaking solely to himself as he could not see the woman before him.

Nelphean fell upon the ground, and coverd Bastet's form with his own, confused as he saw and sensed no magic...
"There is no whips, there is no pain, you only see that which is forcing itself into your mind, you are not hurt, you are completely safe, there is no danger, only your love."
Nelphean had a contingency, if she would not wake up from this dream he could always change it.

The lashes came one after another. The pain was so real, she screamed her face twisted for each one. It was bad enough that she clenched her hands into fists her nails sticking into her own palms with the force of it, her own teeth biting down on her tongue until her blood dripped slowly. Pain to forget other pains. Her wretched keepers stench and looks haunting beneath her eyes. Then more shriveled warriors dragged in a body with the fresh smell of blood. It was not just anyone, he was far too familiar, "Omari! No...leave him...alone." His head was already slumped forward with his pain and her own body went slightly lax with it all. Then a faint warmth came over her body and more words were heard only to be jumbled in her head with everything else.

"Bastet? Is that you?" Omari spoke, his voice was raspy and damaged. His head tilted upward to look at her directly, and beneath his hair you could see that he was as dead as the soldiers themselves, every bruise fresh and cuts bleeding on him as he had been at the end of his lethal beating. "I cant see you Bastet. Where are you?" His hollow eyes wandered over the room, trying to see the source of his love's voice unable to find it though she was right before him. The soldiers held him in place in front of her by four or so feet, as unfeeling as ever. "They came for me... told me that I shouldnt care for you... What's happened Bastet? Why cant I see you!?"

Nelphean sat on the floor and watched helplessly as Bastet underwnet her own psychological trama. "Something is triggering all these things... My insanity, your insanity, Aurahkah's insanity... My clone's insanity... Nailah's insanity..." Nelphean thought for a mement, what was different. Everyone was going insane. Nelphean wanted to comfor t Bastet, but he didn't know how, her mind was as fargone as he had ever seen it, and he watched.
"You see, this the kind of thing that happens when you fall in love with me."

Tears filled her glazed eyes, she did not fight them, but let them come. This was her torture, her justice had been reached but she had continued killing, ruthlessly. These soldiers dead by her hands, and her Omari as dead as them. Killing them had not brought him back, not even in her mind. Her head lowered, her hair falling to cover her face as death still clung to her. This punishment fitful for her crimes. What would hapen to any other that loved her? "They came for you and have now come for me. This is what I should have seen after, had I not run. We were not meant..." She could feel her heart ache and even with her head turned away remembered every mark on Omari's beaten body. What had she been taught recently about love? Was it ever true? Could it conquer the demons of both or only the demons of one when the other's transgressions were too great?

"For our time together, we were free, our souls had control when our bodies did not. I regret nothing." Nelphean said to Bastet.
Can't beat him, be him.
Nelphean crawled across the floor and sat near Bastet, " Some things are unavoidable, not much we can do about it. But we still do have our own souls to give us that which we truly want, freedom from this despairity and freedom of our hearts."

"Who was that Bastet? That voice... love? You- you have left me when I need you so much? Bastet, I cant feel anything... where are you? I love you... Dont listen to him, him-they all just want to tear us apart!" His voice trailed farther and farther as his words broke and his eyes filled with tears. Then the soldiers took him away, dragged him from the room again, to where Bastet could only hear them as they resumed their beatings of the poor man. Omari's screams continued for a minute over the sounds of whips cracking and heavy weapons striking him. But shortly after, his voice drifted back as if he was still right beside her. "Bastet... please. I need you now."

The words of love filled her head with the sounds of torture and the death around her. She could not make sense of it. Had Omari not been the one she was fighting for all of these years? No, recently she had been fighting for someone else. Fighting for another whom she ached for, an elf that sung to her heart. She had abandoned Omari, but really, she had moved on. "Leave him be!" Omari had been strong for her, could she abandon him? Again her mindset changed, It was impossible to bring him back so what force was bringing him in her mind. "Stop it!" Her tongue was slightly swollen from her biting it, but her words were clear as Omari was dragged off and tortured some more, "Omari is dead, I have been shown this. Stop torturing him and the memory of him! How can I listen to his voice again? He would not plague me like this in life or death." He sounded so different from one moment to the next. "Who is my true love? Do I have one? Do I deserve one?"

"Of course you dont deserve one." Came another familar voice from behind her, the soldier whod been holding the whip was gone, and in his place stood Rashidi smiling over her. "And you'll never have one because you know the moment you let it happen, you'll have it ripped away from you again. You'll hear Omari die over and over again before you learn. But youve done a good job so far, locking out everyone from your heart. Not even your new plaything can get in."

"Love can only be felt, never controlled or measured." Nelphean said calmly to Bastet. "That is the truth."
"Never forget, that is the key, to always remember everyone you love and lost, to remember those who hurt you as well, to keep a mind on all things ,and not just a few."

Rage seemed to replace the blood in her veins at the silky voice that she heard next. Her head snapped around, twisting her back causing more pain, "Even if I do not deserve one you would know nothing of it, because you never felt anything but greed, and power." Then she dropped her head again, "Who would blame me for locking people out of my heart? It is no fun to get hurt again, to have these things happen and then replay over and over again in your mind." Her ears lax, but her tail reached out to Rashidi and then her nearest captor to grab to someone and occupy them another way, "But I do not get hurt when I am myself only! So I have let beings in to touch my heart and even dance across it hurting it sometimes, or else these memories would not haunt me again. I feel it." Her mind reached out for the soothing voice that tried to come over everything else.

Cymarron sat within his den, looking at his claws, flexing them in and out. He'd been watching through his tavern 'eyes' and noted that none dared to touch Nailah, and that the coward Dobbs was missing. Good news. But that was not on his mind. his mind was on the attraction he had to Nailah, which he very well knew was more to do with her reminding him of Kisshy than anything else. Should he tell her this? or simply let it be part of him, keep it to himself and occupy his mind with her protection in that village? Or should he go and visit her?

"Remember b***h, who is your master!" Her tail moved pointlessly towards what was only an illusion, and the whip in his hands snapped again, stinging her skin. "Youre right, youve been the only thing to keep you alive, and the shell you live inside protects you. But look at your newest mate, or would be anyways. He can see right through you though he doesnt know it. Could not bring himself to bed with such a filthy creature as you. And do you remember his words? He did not wish to see you when you were most vulnerable; you know he could not stand to look at you for what you were under your armor. His words betray how little he feels for you and you for him."
