The clone of myself wanderred off and was eaten by wolves and didn't wander into the lair of the dawn mother to divulge all manner of exploitable tendencies of the original body, which is this body that has nothing wrong with it right now?

Earth elemental master Umm Question: What are the paramaters(misspelled I know) of the combat proper? Parameters? Do you mean their duties, their qualifications? Members of the Combat Proper are extensively trained field agents who, in theory, through skill specialization are capable of meshing together into a tight-knit combat group in order to surmount particular challenges. In practice, each member of the Combat Proper is well-versed in a variety of field tactics and has sufficient strength, skill, equipment and arcane techniques to dispatch most opposition and operate independently for weeks or even months on end. Most members of the Combat Proper have their own bank accounts, investments, outside sources of income and contacts that they can draw upon in the performance of their duties. During standard operation, each member of the Combat Proper is assigned a zone, or sphere of control. Within each zone, the Monster Slayer has complete autonomy to gather information, hunt, slay or engage monsters as they see fit. Special missions occassionally arise, requiring the efforts of two or members of the Combat Proper. During such missions, zones are shifted into the jurisdiction of other members of the Combat Proper and operations are conducted as needed. Members of the Combat Proper are required to keep careful track of the locations and approximate size of enemy encounters, for mapping the flow of monster movement and population density. As a result, regular reports are expected, even when an Operative is on extended duty away from base. As to qualifications, a simple look at the current Combat Proper will tell you what we expect. Three out of five members of the Combat Proper are, for all intents and purposes immortal. Thaddeus and myself are first tier immortals, and Jon-OH is a third tier, having had two generations between himself and me. Furthermore, Saint b*****d has a free-roaming soul, which is capable of transferring his thousands of years of experience and significant magical might into a new body should his current one fail (Unlikely, given the significant density of his skull). The MSU's youngest member of the combat proper, and only truly mortal operative is Archmage, who is generally considered the least powerful of the Combat Proper. That doesn't mean, by any stretch of the imagination that he is weak. That means that the weakest member of the Combat Proper is capable of destroying major metropolitan areas when he flexes his brain. Each member of the Combat Proper is rated for combat against low tier sub-dieties, if not higher. As you might imagine, entry into the Combat Proper is on a highly selective basis. Every member of the Combat Proper came to us already a veteran Monster Slayer. There is, simply put, no greater Monster Slaying organization than the MSU.

Expanding on some of the points fearless leader made-
Immortality/invulnerability/extended lifespan helps. Even Dale has a longer than normal lifespan. There are side effects though. Pale skin, unkempt hair, addiction to milk and vulnerability to sunlight are just a few. In fact we first though Archmage a dreaded Lactos Vampire, but it turned out he is just a pasty white guy with an affiction for milk.
There have been a few members not with us now. Some went AWOL, others didn't make it or were kicked out. We are even more inclusive now. In fact the only person not in the Combat Proper I would suggest just left to use his powers for the U.S. Army. Even then he would have to pass entry tests, physical endurance tests, and death tests. Even if he passes all of these with flying colors he still doesn't have more than a snowball's chance in Hell because we already have Jon-Oh. So yeah, we are not recruiting.

I have a question regarding the fluff beasts that live in the closets. It seems that they are gearing up for some sort of "pre-emptive" strike against the dust bunnies who live under the bed. As we all know, dust bunnies are a peaceful race whose only purpose in life is to guard the gates of the shadow realm from which all bed monsters spring. Should we be doing something about this or will the coming war do little more than stir up people's allergies?

if you're really worried, I recommend vacuuming your closet.
in your case all those skeletons would probably thank you.

you may well have.
Granted, Dale's is probably mostly from a life-long practice with the unholy arts of magick.
he's got a degree in it and everything.

I seem to have lost or ended up with a lesser degree of all of the traits that would indicate that I had an extended lifespan in the last few years...

Well, I'm not sure whether I just used to have the indirectly indicative traits of extended life but not the actual extended life, have lost the traits along with the extended life feature via some sort of theft or something, or if I do have extended life but the traits that go along with it have begun to mask themselves in some elaborate attempt by my subconscious to lead foes to overconfidence or something something. Jibba-jabba Jibba-jabba Jibba-jabba Jibba-jabba Jibba-jabba Jibba-jabba.

hm, well soon, my wrath shall wax hot and my fury will envelop the earth in a firey orgy of death, destruction and apocolyptic wangleing.
agelessness=SUPER CRAZY, starting to ebb at my ability to think clearly.
