Cymarron titled his head.

A soft snort of confirmation. "Yes, in a sense. But she fights more than one beast." A seemingly smile to Cymarron, though no actually there it could be heard in the voice. "Yes, even though we can't directly help...we're still near by."

Nelphean smiled, "Continue to hum my sweet, and let me sing in round..." Nelphean hummed a few more lines, and smiled at Ecara...
"Lets be brave, lets be brave, stand our guard, let them come, let them come, and find our blades, let the song be sung that our kin have always made, let the song ring loud, let them fall upon us waiting for them now..."

"Congratulations Nelphean...you're the first to associate humming and song to her." If she was anything like her mother, he knew she would take to the newly associated aspect. Aurahkah loved music, seemed Ecara did as well.
She had no idea what he was saying, but it sounded pretty. Not understanding the words, all she could do was hum. Ecara liked what her sensitive ears were hearing and felt compelled to help the sound.

Niah dropped into a chair exhausted already. She rubbed a hand over her face and sighed. This job was insane. Why do I keep putting myself through this? I could always go...home. She thought of all the occupants in the manor. Saw them in her mind's eye. Aura was laughing and holding Ecara on her lap. Nelphean and Bastet were wrapped up in each other and oblivious to everyone else. Cymarron was playing with Tyler on the floor. Eclipse was twitching his tail adn keeping a watchful eye over everyone. And Saradin was cooking, like he did so well. She saw them all so clearly and wondered if she truly should go back. She fit in with them. She could picture herself sitting at the table adn eating cheesecake or even drinking wine. Alcohol. That was what got her in this mess in the first place. She sighed.
Dobbs watched the girl and scowled. Who the hell did she think she was taking a damn break? And on his time too? Oh he was going to enjoy this. He walked over and yanked her up. "What the hell do ye think ye're doing missy?" He noted with some satisfaction that the noise in the inn died down immensely as all eyes turned to them.
Niah jerked away from his grasp and glared at him. "I'm taking a break. I need one."
"Not on me time ye don't! Get back to work."
"Look Dobbs you may be able to work your kids like slaves but you don't own me. And I need a break so I'm taking one. You didn' t have your a** up all night cleaning up after these pigs. When you can do that and last all day then I will concede to no breaks." She was pissed and tired and she really didn't want to listen to any s**t from him.
Dobbs stared at her for a moment then reached his hand back and slapped her. "What did I tell ye about yer mouth girlie?" The slap echoed through the inn and all eyes were on them, conversations going silent. "Ye'll take a break when and IF I say ye can and don't ye dare call me customers pigs! They are much better than ye yerself are. Filthy whore."
Niah noticed with chagrin that not one of them tried to help her. They probably thought it was his right, filthy pigs. "They are pigs. They sit their lazy asses in here day after day and drink. Then when they're too drunk to see straight you toss them out. And I clean up after them. Filthy pigs all of you!" she yelled.
Dobbs brought his hand up again and delivered a blow that sent her crashing to the floor. He reached down and grabbed her by the hair then pulled her up. "Ye have pushed me too far this time girlie. He threw her against the wall and walked slowly over. "Ye are nothing but a low and dirty whore who is not good enough to wipe the s**t off these fine people's boots. He kicked her once in the stomach then viciously yanked her up and grabbed her chin. "Ye work for me in case ye've forgotten and I'll not tolerate this!"
Niah rolled to get away from him and found herself yanked up again. "Leave me alone." Her stomach hurt and she felt dizzy and tired. She shook her head. "I'm leaving."
Dobbs had had enough of this. He dragged her into the kitchen and said menacingly "Ye can't leave girlie. Ye owe me money. Money ye can't pay!" He almost laughed when he realized how true that was. She may have been able to pay him with the goodies in her bags but she no longer had them, now did she? He pushed her away from him and said "One more scene like that and I'll give ye to me son to teach ye a lesson. He's always been a lady killer." He said it with a cruel laugh adn then pointed. "Now get yer a** out there and apologize to everyone of them men that ye called filthy pigs. Tell them ye're sorry and they can have a round on the house. And it's comin' out of yer a** me girl. So be prepared." He gave her one last glare and then stalked out of the kitchen.
Niah leaned against the wall and tried not to cry. She hated this. But the sad thing was, he was right. She couldn't pay him back now that her bags were stolen. And the b*****d knew it too. She blinked back her tears and gingerly rubbed her sore stomach. She did not want to go back out there and lower herself to apologize to them but it seemed she had no choice. Chills ran down her spine when she thought of his threat. He probably hadn't been joking about his son either.

Nelphean stopped singing, and allowed Ecara to hold the tune on her own. He smiled very warmly, and sat backwards, and watched the child's innocence. Nelphean felt very... good.

The alarms in Cymarron's head went off like fireworks. his mode went from nice and calm to feral and very angry. he didn't say anything, simply got up and tore out of the mansion at a full hunting run, heading toward the village...and the second he got to the tavern door, it was coming down. and lord help who was on the other side. venom and saliva flowed from his mouth. He'd made a promise to Dobbs, and he certainly intended to keep his word.

She let herself finish out the predetermined tune she had been given then let it trail off and blinked at him, then smiled, exposing the points of small almost harmless fangs. "Ecara likes it..."
He laughed slightly. "How many times must we go through it? When you're talking about yourself, it's "I", not "Ecara"."

Nelphean smiled, "Does the lady know what she was singing, a song about home... Waiting for a peace to come." Nelphean slowly slide away from Ecara and Aurahkah. He sat facing Ecara. "Why don't you try to hum a song on your own?" Nelphean hadn't notice the absense of Cymarron, probably wasn't even aware the cat was ever there.

Nailah went out and stood before the crowd apologizing to them. She then began to hand out the free drinks. She was going to have to be a bit more careful next time. But she had Cym's daggers and she really didn't think he'd mind if she used them to kill a b*****d who didn't deserve to live anyway. The men laughed when she walked by and nodded in approval at her red cheek. They felt seh had been justly punished and there was no way in hell they would say no to a free round of alcohol. Nailah shook her head and listened to the jeering remarks.

"Ecara didn't know she....was singing..." Her head tilted often like her mother's did. "Don't know how to make a song." The look on her face was somewhat stuck between disappointment, and embarrassment.

Bastet mewed, impatient with the old lady's stalling. Cat years were not long... She paced up and down the room making annoying noises.
The old lady looked up from her cart with it's piles or materials. She had eventually taken pity on the cat and tied up her dogs so that they sat silently watching every movement. "Shut up Bastet, undoubtedly it is your fault you are in this mess." She played with a few more ingredients and finished cooking a brew. Her old joints and popping bones took what seemed to be forever to do the work, even just to write an encantation. The hag had to have been doing it on purpose. After a few more pops and cracks from her side of the room, she stood with the aid of her cane, "Ah ha. Come here you whining creature and sit still. Marvel at my power and pity that will help you out of this mess."
An uncontrollable urge to roll her eyes came over Bastet. Her tail flicked with anger as her ears were almost flat against her head she hissed at the old women, supressing the urge to bite again. Finally she wandered to about the middle of the room and sat waiting.
"Ungrateful." Like she had room to talk. Taking the potion in her skinny fingers, she began to mumble the spell repeatedly. From beneath Bastet's paws a mist rose up to fold about the room, seemingly encasing only it. The dogs growled, not understanding anything other than the fact that what was happening was wrong. The old hag threw the potion at the cat, and with some sparks and a small explosion, smoke over ran the mist and the hag stepped back coughing violently. Once it started to clear up in the room, the woman grabbed a sheet and threw it in Bastet's general direction.
Slowly, she felt herself grow and change. The sensation was so old to her and she barely remembered the last time it happened, but she could feel her bones growing, cracking, changing. Things rearranged and after the explosions she covered herself with the sheet and stood, herself again. "Ra damnit! It took you long enough old hag. I did not take this long to help you out..." Stretching her limbs she wrapped the sheet around her body better, suddenly wishing she was in her room. A few shaky steps were taken to two test out walking on two legs again. Her steps however never seemed to steady, and she fumbled forward off balance. It had not been this hard before... she tried again, only to fumble some more, and her senses seemed different. Coming to a mirror the realization hit her, she was a full human woman. Rage entered her system immediately and she turned to the woman, "Why did you do this?! I wanted to be a cat woman again?!" She made her way to the old lady in as threatening a manner as possible, "You screwed up!"
With the angry woman's steps coming closer, the hag relaxed her stance with the cane, and had her eyes take on a look of innocence, "Oh dearie me, I guess I made it wrong. Hm oh well, now you can test this out." A sly smile from cracked lips formed a smile behind the veil.
"You did this on purpose! I know you did! You always wanted to make me full human, so stop the innocent act!" A hand grabbed out and grabbed the hag's robes around the neck. Yanking her around, she pulled the woman to her height. "Change me to a cat woman!"
Her cane slipped under Bastet to trip her, making her fall on her a**. "Dreadful balance you have without that tail. Those appendages were a hindrance to your good looks, now you can better please that elf of yours."
She stood angrily, having no way to portray her feelings besides her stance, face, and words. "So now you say I was ugly? Sure you have ample room to talk in that area. You are revolting! Is this anyway to repay me?" Calm washed over her as she silently fumed before lashing out more precisely. "Your name suits you well Brenna. A small raven, cawing out destiny because you believe you control all and plague to those who know you. You can not even repay a debt properly. If you stay here too long we all might die around you. Change me back and do something right."
Had she been that rude? Yes she had she supposed. The words cut deep, beneath the harsh manner and her beating cane. "I guess I deserved that. Do not be so narrowminded! Ajust back to human thought and give this a try. I am tired now anyway, I can not change you again so soon. Let me rest and come back to me if you truly want it so." She turned and walked to the bed, one tear rolling down her wrinkled face. The door was heard slamming and Bastet was gone. "I deserved it, but it does not soften the blow."
Bastet, still wound in the sheet, slinked around the hallways using the wall for support. On her trip to her room she almost fell three times, cursing her lack of cat features. Upon entering her room, an piece of paper with her name on it was kicked aside, but she ignored it and stormed to the closet for some clothes only to curse some more, "I can not wear these because they all have holes in them." A pair of pants was tragically held up with her finger sticking through the tail hole. She threw the pants on the bed awaking her cat, Kepi and some of the kittens. "Kepi, go to Nailah's room and get me something to wear." The cat left silently as the paper on the floor was noticed. The weary woman picked it up and broke the seal, reading quickly. "Tyler? Nailah, I am going to kill you."

As soon as he hit the village, frightening several in the process, he let out a very loud, very dangerous sounding roar. His eyes saw red, and he moved to the Tavern door unmolested, as most the men were drinking anyway, and none of hte women wanted to dare his wrath. when he got the the tavern door, it came off. literally. It got torn off it's hinges and thrown into the building, followed by a very angry Vah.
"We are here to keep our promise! Debtor! show yourself or we will Hutn you down like the dog you are!"

Nelphean watched the woman walk towards... Bastet's room. The elf smiled... He walked up to the door, and knocked.
Nelphean chuckled, "Ok, that is a lesson that will take some time, would you like to continue singing with me?"

Everyone shrank back at teh sight of Cymarron filling the doorway of the inn. Niah looked up at him and shook her head. She walked over and said "Cymarron...I thought I told you to stay away from here." She turned so he couldn't see her cheek and bit her lip. She didn't need Cymarron making her life worse. "Look Cymarron I don't know why you're upset but I need you to go home."
Dobbs heard the angry voice adn ran. He moved upstairs faster than he thought possible and hid. There was no way he was fighting that huge tiger. Merre had some odd friends but he was one who obviously had some kind of special talents. He wonderd if she had called him somehow. Maybe that bracelet. Or was she a witch? That would work nicely if he needed to get rid of her without any questions being asked. The village hated witches. They longed to get ahold of the one on the hill.
