I was never really squashed for it. I was so anti-social in high school that there was no one around to squash me in the first place! xd

But my art teachers always said I was talented, and that was enough for me.

My english teachers hated me. They could assign I ten page paper due in a week, and I'ld have twenty pages to turn in the next day. And it was quality work, so they had to give me an A.

Wow, I did well in English, but not that well!

I don't think the rest of the kids in the class ever forgave me for getting 100% on the test we had on Hamlet. Between that and the time I quickly solved a math problem in a way that the math teacher couldn't even understand without analyzing it for a few minutes, I was pretty much known as a complete nerd.

Oye, my math teachers hated me for that. They'd write complicated equations, and I'ld just look at them and have the answer. They were always the 'show your work' types...

Well, it wasn't really a complicated equation to be honest, we has the dumbest Math courses at our High School. Pre-algebra and the likes. I failed an Integrated Math class one year because you're required to present in front of the class on a weekly basis and I have bad stage fright... and I was anti-social to boot!

So they put me in this dumb class called Math B. They did a test the first day just to see how far the students were and afterward the teacher was asking people to do some problems on the board. He presented... let's see... I believe it was a geometry problem where the main area was a square but with another small squard-shaped section added on to one side.

He was solving the equation by calculating an area including an empty spot which he then subtracted to find the correct answer. I solved it by counting first the larger square area and then the smaller one and adding the two together. I just figured that it doesn't make much sense to count something that's not there, right? At first he couldn't figure out what I was doing and said that I had used an incorrect method and gotten the correct answer by mistake. It took him a good ten or fifteen minutes to figure out what I had actually done and why it worked.

So, as far as the entire class was concerned I was a complete nerd. Fortunately, I was then moved straight into an algebra class.

You got the correct answer by mistake? And this person teaches others? Oye...

They didn't always have the best teachers at that school. I had a math teacher in my spanish class once, but he was so bad they fired him after the first trimester and I got into an art class instead. =3

With no offense intended towards you or yours, I'm glad my son won't be attending school there.

Some of the teachers weren't too bad, in fact some were great, but because they were a new school they were desperate for teachers and sometimes they didn't hire the best ones.

Anyway, I hope to be out of state well before any of my children reach the age to attend high school.

Any state in particular you are thinking of moving too?

I was thinking of moving in a north-west sort of direction. Something close to start with, maybe Utah or Colorado. My mother wants to move to Idaho, but most of that is too cold for my liking.

If I could move anywhere in the world though, the UK. But, that's so not happening... not any time soon anyway.

That would be a fun thing. I've actually considered doing that when I retire from the military. England, Ireland, or Japan. England and Ireland save a bit of hassle though, as I already know the language.

Japan would be interesting... as long as it's not Tokyo. I don't want to be stuffed into a cublicle! I don't think I'd fit....

I'ld prefer Kyoto myself. Much richer history.

I don't really know much about it myself.
