((Guys remember that there are seperate forums for the different areas of the guild now. Tochi and I are at the gate. I would suggest opening a browser so you can do both.))

Xitha laughed again. "Indeed, Lux, I do believe today was not his day," she said as she selected another target for her lightning.

She appeared inside the kitchen. As she set her eyes on everything, they went wide. She felt her stomach rumble and she went to the refrigerator. She opened it and took out some milk. She opened all the cupboards to finally find the cereal she was looking for. She poured herself some Frosted Flakes in a bowl along with some milk. It took her a while to find a spoon but she was triumph when she did. She sat down on a stool placing her bowl in front of her.

"I barely remember these," she said taking a bite.

She smiled at the sweetness and started devouring quickly. She poured herself some more when the bowl was nearly empty. She now felt like she was finally somewhere she could feel safe.

Once back inside the kitchen, Lux sighed heavily and dropped into the chair she had vacated. She noticed a new arrival eating what appeared to be cereal; she nodded a polite greeting to the girl as she unstrapped her sword and laid it on the seat next to her.
Drawing her dagger, Lux stabbed a sausage and began nibbling at it, wondering how long the rest of her friends would take.

((Hey, wasn't Tochi the one who said 4? Men!! So unreliable))

Xitha appeared in the kitchen, captive in tow. She looked around briefly, but saw that only women were in the room-herself, Lux, Sasha, and a new arrival.

"Welcome to the Pagoda!" she said cheerfully to the young girl eating cereal as she approached the table. She seated her hostage, tying the bonds to the back of the chair, then took the scrying bowl to the sink. Muttering a few words, she banished the spell on the water, returning it to its normal state. She rinsed out the bowl and placed it on a rack to dry, then joined the others at the table.

"I forgot how tiring mage-battle gets," Xitha said ruefully as she rubbed her temples.

Lux looked up when Xitha walked in and watched in amusement as she tied down the hostage. She fixed him with an icy stare, her gray eyes hard as steel as she finished off her sausage and viciously stabbed another.
*You look as tired as I feel* Lux said silently to Xitha, already at ease with this new form of communication.

Don't worry, you can gain back some energy quiet easily. This Pagoda is filled to bursting with energy, and its no wonder considering Cole and Dyanel used quite a bit of magic to create it.
Why don't we go down to the lake and take a swim? It's one of my personal favorite places here, and holds quite a bit of natural energy. A swim should be very refreshing,
Xitha said as she nibbled on a few grapes.

"Where have those boys gotten themselves to?" she asked out loud as she looked out the kitchen's large windows.

"That spirit healed Shinta, I think, so unless something viciously attacked them they should both be back by now."

Lux rose to look out the window herself.

"I was right behind them as we left the woods, but they were walking. I decided I would teleport here since I was not in the mood to prolong the journey. They'll get here," Lux said as she walked away from the window and to the refrigerator.

Looking inside, she removed a bottle of water and a peach, speaking to Xitha telpathically all the while.
*A swim sounds very refreshing, and while we're there perhaps you can explain why swimming in a lake filled with energy is supposed to help* Lux said dryly.

Xitha's mental laugh was chagrined.

I'm sorry, I forget that you've had no magical training. Here's how it works: if a mage ever needs energy, they can simply draw on the energy surrounding them, in nature. Some places, like here, are chock-full of energy. Other places have less. Cold places, barren places, et cetera, Xitha explained quickly as she rose from her chair.

She studied the Shadow tied to the seat next to the one she vacated.

Should we take him with us, do you think?

Lux paused at the door, her hand on the knob. She fixed the Shadow with a glare as she contemplated what do to with him.
*Let's leave him here* she said to Xitha. *I'm sure Tochi and Shinta will have questions. I'd rather not have him breathing down my neck while I'm trying to relax.*
Lux opened the door and stood just within it, peering out at the expansive grounds and looking for the others.
*Well, no sign of them, as far as I can tell* Lux informed Xitha. *I don't think Tochi was in the mood to walk very fast.*
With that, Lux stepped completely outside and teleported herself down to the lake.

Xitha disappeared from the kitchen and reappeared in her bathroom. She took several towels off a rack on the wall of the room, then headed for the lake.

Xitha teleported into the kitchen from the lake and took a step forward before stopping abruptly.

What the...! she thought frantically as she approached the empty chair that had formerly held the shadow in place.

Xitha cursed under her breath as she realized her bonds had weakened their hold while her energies had been low. The Shadow had probably noticed the relaxed hold and slipped free.

Lux! Don't come near the kitchen! The b*****d escaped! Xitha sent quickly.

Damnit! Xitha thought as she raced out the door.

She instantly stopped as she saw the Shadow holding Lux captive and at swordpoint.

Lux, I can't get him! If I try to fry him I'll get you too, she said helplessly.

The Shadow laughed mockingly.

"Not so funny now, is it witch?" he said as he slowly dragged Lux off toward the gates.

"Say good-bye to your friend,'cause you won't be seeing her again. Alive, anyway," the Shadow laughed.

((disclaimer: this time, Xitha put me in danger, not myself!))

Damnit, how'm I getting myself out of this one? Lux thought as the Shadow dragged her towards the gates. She knew this Shadow would be too smart to let go of her; there was precious little she could do with a blade pressed against her throat.
Lux' face betrayed no fear, but her mind was racing with possibilities, all grim.

((gee. One damsel in distress, the other damsel unable to do anything. Where on earth are our heroes when we need them?))

Xitha instantly created another tornedo, blocking the Shadow's passage out of the Pagoda. He might have Lux captive, but he wasn't going to leave the Pagoda with her in tow.

Just in case the tornedo itself was not enough, Xitha set it on fire, adding flames until it was a whirling blaze, destroying nothing but trapping the Shadow effectively within the Pagoda.
