Hhmm, interesting
Watching keenly as he disappeared she jumped down and walked over to the wyvern, frowning at the carnage. Turning her stomach knotted as she ran back to the others, stumbling back into view
I'm sorry, there was a rather... big fight of sorts happening and I didn't want it to be a threat to any of us. I promise I won't run off again till we get to your mother's house, Suru
She bit her lip nervously having held them up again

Seeing Ekko bite her lip out of nervousness, Kasurugi walks to Ekko's side and puts his right hand on her shoulder.
Eh.....don't worry about it, its only about a 7 hour walk from here to Gellos, and i have a feeling that my old friend is still there waiting on my return. Well lets pick up the now that Ekko has joined us again.
Giving Ekko's shoulder a little tap, he walks forward taking his hand off of Ekko's shoulder
And we're off
Kasurugi starts to hum a little melody as he's walking, as hes humming he seems to get happier and happier with every note he hums

Ekko followed, half dazed as she stared around her, the air almost too calm as her stomach began to growl again
It's quiet... are we almost there? I'm starting to get hungry again

As Kasurugi's party comes up over a small hill a village can be seen in the distance not 2 hours from where they are now
Yipppeeee!!!!!! we're almost there just 2 more hours and we'll be there
Kasurugi's pace seems to have quickened as he is filled with joy of seeing his mother and an old friend

*after a few hours of hiking, he hears a noise up ahead. crouching down, he sees his next target. some giant beetle/snake crawling on four legs that seem ill-suited for its mass. since there is only the one trail the thing is travelling on and it hasn't seen or detected me yet, I move further away, retrieving a spool of copper wire and a few other odds and ends for making a snare*

So how long are we staying? If it's overnight or longer I can sleep outside, most people got a problem with demons staying in their home though if you want I can keep watch or something. I feel kinda useless just tagging along without helping out or anything
Leaping up and catching the branches she swung along lazily keeping pace with the others

*makes a simple snare out of two loops of copper wire layed down on the path right around the bend where the weird bug can't see him (and I doubt it could see the ground). Covers it in a light powder of dirt, if the bug steps in it it'll trip and probably break it's weak legs. hides in the bushes with swords loosened*

Aeife stepped among the roots silently, the grass and soil made squishing sounds beneath her bare feet. The damp air clung heavily to her skin and hair. The mist seemed to thicken even since her leaving, the clouded sky no doubt playing a part.
As she walked, her mind wandered. Between her now more frequent attacks of pain, the image of the distant sea came to her eyes. A desire seemed to draw her there, but she had no idea what direction she was heading. What good would it do her to go there, anyway? Not that being here was doing anything for her either.
At last the sun began to shine through its dark veil. Through the canopy of the forest the light kissed her. Due to the thickness of the percipitate on her body and clothes, it almost seemed as if she were shining. A glow eminated from her skin and the white cloak fasted at her neck, making her the image of a delicate nymph.

*I walk along patiently with Kasarugi and Ekko; silently awaiting our arrival to Kasarugi's hometown. I look over at my new found companions curiously, as if trying to look inside of them. Finally my patience wears thin.* .......Are we there yet?! gonk

*finally hears the "click-click-click" of the thing's spindley legs. a few more moments and it hissed violentley as it pitched forward with all of its legs broken, squirming madley trying to get itself untangled. He leaps out of the bushes, whipping out his two swords and thrusts them into a gap in its shell, at the base of the neck. the head easily breaks off, but it doesn't stop thrashing. has to jump back for a moment to avoid the massive snakelike body from hitting him*

Aeife found her toes poised at the edge of a generously sized lake. It was scerene and beautiful... And the parting mists gave it an eerily fantastic feel. For a moment she walked around it, leading over to a formation of rocks where a small waterfall trickled, this earthly formation being due to the mountains not far away. In the grass that grew about the brown stone, a large bush-tree reached its limbs out over the waters. Its leaves were heavy with water from the early dew and morning mist. From here she could see fish in the water as it plunged, no shoreline to be seen.
Taking a brief moment to unclasp the brooch at her neck and allowing her cloak to fall to the ground, Aeife let herself fall into the lake. She sank deeper and deeper as she expelled her lungs of air. The bubbles rose to the surface and the fish scattered with surprise. Meanwhile she sank deeper still, her eyes shut with small gems of air clinging to her lashes and brow as air passed out her nose. After a minute or two of drifting along the bottom, she shot toward the surface. She breached, tossing her head back with a massive intake of oxygen. It had been as if she were sleepwalking up to this point, just now awakened by some spirit in the water.
She gasped heavily, trying to catch her breath. It almost seemed as if she hadn't breathed since he left. Like she was lingering on something that wasn't really there. A frustration rose within her, and she could feel hot and angry tears emerging from her eyes. It truely was as if she had been in a long sleep and was just now waking, in more ways than one this analogy described her. With a free hand, she brushed her wet locks from her eyes. Then she felt both hands rise to her face, her extended digits covering mouth, nose, and eyes as she sobbed. She felt such lonliness... Physically, emotionally, and mentally. And the pain... It all felt as if she were slowly being crushed beneath a large and hefty boulder.
To try and release herself from this torment without resorting to suicide, she dove beneath the surface again. Swiming always seemed to ease her troubled mind... Even when she was a young girl. She was now a young woman of sixteen, or was it seventeen now? Or maybe even eighteen? It didn't seem to matter... Time was lost to her now. She could only recount her life through the horrors.
As she swam, she found that the long skirt and bell sleeves of her gown were more trouble than they were worth. She surfaced again, finding herself somewhere near the waterfall, and swam over to where she had left her cloak on the soggy ground. With great effort she pulled herself out of the water, then reached down and lifted her cloak. It was hardly soiled, only a few stray leaves and grasses. Nonetheless, she hung the heavy cloak over a limb of the bush-tree.
The dress clinging to the flesh of her chest and shoulders and weighing her down with wetness was quite unpleasant. The thin fabric of the dress stuck to every nook and crany of her pale skin, revealing more than she would like. But it wasn't as if anyone was around to see... At least not that she knew of. So in a timely fashion, she removed the garment and slung it over a seperate limb of the same tree. Naked as she was, she dove back into the lake again to find her release.

*the snake (for it had just shed its legs and shell, and somehow grew back its head) now started slithering away. He pounced onto its back and stabbed it with one of his swords, clinging on grimly as it slithers its way into a nearby stream, heading downstream and unwittingley into a waterfall. Takes one last breath as he plunges into the lake below, wrestling with the snake after having lost both swords and the rest of his equipment in the fall*
