Seeing that his cries had failed, the pokemon took it upon himself to take physical action without hesitation. Before, he had planned to just quickly grab the growlithe and run away. But now he saw that the only way now was to fight. Even though he knew that he would most likely get captured, he had to save Cira. "I'm not going to let you take another one of my friends!" Cried out Takeo as he jumped into the air, soaring above Cira, and soon skull bashing one of the humans to the ground.

With a startled cry, the rocket fell onto his backside as Takeo landed in front of Cira, his eyes glaring at the assailants. "Are you alright, Cira?" Asked the Charmander, still panting from his attack. "Be careful. These people are dangerous..."

"These people use pokemon to do evil. Even you and I can be changed to serve their purposes. We have to be careful," replied the pokemon, his eyes still glaring at the group of rockets who now stood before them. "Do you think you can fight?" Asked the Charmander, his back still facing the Growlithe. "I am going to need your strength. Do you think you can?" And as soon as he said those words, the rockets (there were three of them), threw three pokeballs which landed right in front of the two wild pokemon. And in moments, a Koffing, a Ratatta and a Ekans appeared before them, their eyes glaring at their opponents. Gulping, Takeo took a step back, preparing for the worst.

Takeo smirked as he watched the Koffing fall into its trainer, its entire image engulfed in flames. Hoping to finish it off, the Charmander immediately opened its mouth and released a wave of flame upon the creature, engulfing the creature once more, in fire. However, during that time, the other rockets, who had been allowed to analyze the situation since none of their pokemon were being attacked, called out orders to their pokemon. And, as soon as the Charmander had finished executing its flamethrower technique, the Ekans, which had been ordered to use wrap, wrapped its body around the dragon-like pokemon while the Rattata charged forth at the trapped Takeo and dug its fangs into its left shoulder. With a cry, Takeo tried to shake off the creature, but was stopped by the increasing tightening of the Ekans' wrap. "Cira... help me..."

As soon as the Growlithe had used bite on the Ekans, the snake-like pokemon immediately released its grasp on the Charmander. With a gasp, the dragon-like pokemon fell to the ground, its body quite weak from the great amount of strain the Ekans had put on its body. However, with much effort, Takeo was soon able to stand to his feet. But, as soon as it did so, the pokemon immediately saw that Cira was struggling greatly against the Rattata. Knowing that the Ekans would soon regain its composure, Takeo immediately turned to the Ekans and opened its mouth, releasing a smokescreen, which would hopefully blind the snake pokemon long enough so that he could save Cira.

As soon as he released the smokescreen, Takeo turned to Cira and the Rattata and opened his mouth. And soon as he did so, a wave of fire shot forth from the pokemon, soon forming a wall around the Growlithe and the Ratatta. As the wall of fire grew in intensity, it soon began to close around them until both were engulfed in the flames. Of course, the Growlithe was engulfed as well, however, since she was a fire-type, she would hardly be affected. Hoping that his attack had worked for the best, the pokemon waited, watching as the flames soon dispersed....

Takeo turned around, but not in time, for the Ekans had pounced upon his figure and had quickly raised its stinger. As the Charmander struggled, the Ekans immediately jabbed its singer into the pokemon, releasing its deadly poison into him. With a cry, the pokemon slashed out at the snake-like pokemon, his claws soon making contact with its flesh. However the attack had little effect, for Takeo had little strength to do much. Shaking off the pain, the Ekans soon prepared itself for another attack as the poison began to spread through the Charmander's body...

Even though the pokemon had been released, Takeo was still quite weak, due to the poison that now plagued him. With a gasp, the pokemon looked up to Cira, his vision becoming blurry. "I have been poisoned," said the Charmander with much strain and effort. "There is nothing that I can do. Escape quickly, before the rockets get you..." And just as he uttered those words, the pokemon spotted the three rogues making their way towards them. "Get out of here, hurry!" And with his last bit of energy, the pokemon got up to his feet and charged at the incoming rockets, his eyes glaring at them as he began to build up a rage...

Takeo soon opened his eyes, noticing the strange surroundings around him. Confused, the pokemon immediately sat up. However, as soon as he did so, dizziness overwhelmed him, causing everything in the room to spin. With a cry, the Charmander fell back onto the bed which he had been sleeping upon before and, as soon as he had done this, the dizziness immediately faded. Knowing that his current condition therefore called for him to rest, the pokemon began to do so until Cira came to mind. "Cira!" Cried out the pokemon, his eyes darting across the room the best he could. Since he had been badly poisoned, the pokemon could barely remember what had happened after he had charged after the rockets. Had she been captured? If she had, he had to leave now and rescue her. "Cira!" Cried out Takeo again, hoping to hear her voice in return...

"Cira..." Whispered the pokemon, slowly walking up to her sleeping image. Hopping up onto a chair which lay next to the bed, Takeo stared down at his friend, noticing the scratches which covered her body. "I am sorry that I could not protect you," continued the Charmander, the fire on his tail just a small flicker of light now, due to the sadness that now overwhelmed him. "But I swear that next time I will not be so weak, I promise you that, Cira." And with those final words, the Charmander placed his small hand on her frail image and waited, with his eyes closed, for her to awaken...
