He would have fought against Kaoru but he was too tired. His anger flared even more. Why did Kaoru have to be so stubborn! He had no idea what he was getting himself into. He clenched his fists as he sat in his bed.
"NO! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! YOU DON'T WANT TO HELP ME!" he shouted at him angrily and yet in his voice he was sounding desperate as well.

"What, am I going to be targetted by a bunch of hitmen if I do or something?" Kaoru said stubbornly, rolling his eyes, "just get some rest; if I need any help, I'll ask." He peered at the paperwork, initially puzzled. It was strange, to say the least. He felt clueless, and frankly, he didn't like it.
"I'm just sorting it into piles, right?" Kaoru asked, feeling a little embarrassed that he needed help already.

"No, you're giving the hitman the weapon." he said his hands shaking.
"Please....just put the papers back....I can finish it tomorrow." he said his tone practically begging.

"What?" Kaoru exclaimed, his face blanching. He put down the papers as instructed, looking as though he'd picked up a poisonous snake. Chase didn't seem like the type to design anything dangerous. To him, he just seemed like a normal CEO, not a member of a mob or anything like that. Numbly, he walked over and sat on Chase's bed, sitting next to his master.
"I... I'm sorry." Kaoru whispered, trembling as well, "is... um... is there anything you would like?" He looked over at Chase, his eyes conveying his apology better than words. After manhandling him and acting as if he was in charge, "I'm sorry" didn't seem to suffice.

He didn't look at him his eyes only staring at his lap. He was barely awake now his illness draining him of his energy.
"Don't ever touch those papers again. You don't have to have your hands soiled with my sins." he said. His eyes closed as exhaustion took over.

"Yes sir." Kaoru said sadly, tucking Chase back into bed. He felt bad for what he'd done; it almost felt like it was his fault that Chase was in this condition. Sighing, he checked Chase's temperature again, hoping it'd gone down. When his hope was denied, he went into the bathroom, wetting a cloth with cold water. After he wrung it out, he returned and put it on Chase's head, sitting down next to his bed.
"Just get some rest now, okay?" Kaoru smiled weakly, rubbing his eye.

Chase lie already asleep the fever waging war on whatever it was that was attacking his body. His breathing was steady throughout the rest of the night, he didn't stir the only movement his chest rising and falling and his eyes moving as he dreamed.

Kaoru didn't want to fall asleep or go back to his own room; he wanted to make sure his master was alright. Once he was sure that Chase was asleep, he laid down next to the man, watching his chest rise and fall. He looked completely different from the stern man he was during the day. Smiling, he curled up next to Chase and fell asleep, lying on top of the covers. His book still remained forgotten on the floor, next to the closed door.

Chase's fever broke in the night and color began to return to his face. By morning he was looking back to normal health once again. He opened his eyes as the light from the morning lit up the room. The first sight he saw was Kaoru lying next to him curled up. He lie there a moment, his first thought to push him out of the bed but he decided not to. Kaoru was very good looking, he had noticed it before but he saw it in a very different light now. He watched him as he slept.

Kaoru murmured something quietly in his sleep, before he reached over and wrapped his free arm around Chase. In his sleep, he thought he was hugging Super Rabbit, a superhero imaginary friend he'd created. He even nuzzled up against his master, unaware he was doing so physically.
"I love you." Kaoru said dreamily, his tail wagging and thumping loudly on the bed.

Chase's teeth clenched as Kaoru suddenly wrapped his feet around him and nuzzled against him. That was too far. He took his hand and grabbed Kaoru's face pushing him away harshly so he would fall out of the bed.

"Nyah!" Kaoru cried out, flopping onto the ground with a loud thump, "what was that for?!" He rubbed his bottom irritably, obviously having landed on it when he fell. The teenager was unaware that he even talked in his sleep, let alone grabbed other people.

"Don't. Ever. Hug Me. Again." he said through clenched teeth not looking at Kaoru and getting out of his bed. The doors to his room suddenly slammed open.
"MASTER CHASE! KITTY IS MISSING!!!" shouted Gretchen in a panicy tone.

"When did I--" Kaoru began, before being cut off by Gretchen, "I'm right here, Gretchen. Chase wasn't feeling well so I made sure he was okay." He stood up and dusted himself off, slightly upset at his master's reaction. I'm pretty sure I didn't hug him... although I did hug Super Rabbit for saving my marshmallow... He pondered, standing by the chair he'd been sitting in earlier.

Gretchen ran over and hugged Kaoru very tightly.
"I vas so vorried! You not be doing that any more!" she shouted at him.
"I take you to get food now!" she said dragging him from the room.
Chase watched as the maid dragged his slave off. He was glad that he assigned her to him. An elderly maid was soon in the room. She was his personal maid and was there to help him get ready for breakfast.
