Ferris smiled happily when he approved of her work. She had had her doubts as to whether or not he was the type to appreciate comics, but the compliment made those thought vanish.
"Oh yeah, I'm pretty hardcore," She replied jokingly.

"I can see that." He replied, leaning back in his chair. "And I think I'm a little afraid of you now." Kyoya said in a joking manner, the smile widening across his face.

She started giggling again.
"You know you're pretty cute when you smile like that," she said once she had calmed down again.

Kyoya's face went completely black after the words left her mouth. A light pink hue formed on his cheeks and equally as quickly he adverted his eyes to the side.
"Oh...um...thank you...?" He replied in a lightly, in a bit of a question, as his cheeks deeped in hue a bit.
What was the matter with him? He'd never blushed before, especially in front of a girl.

Ferris cocked her head to the side at Kyoya's reaction. Had she said something wrong? Then she caught sight of the hue his cheeks had turned, a hue that had probably matched her own a little while ago.
"I didn't mean to embarrass you," she said quietly, trying to make eye contact with him. "It just sorta came out. But um...it was true."

"No, it's fine." Kyoya replied as he brought his hands up and placed them on his cheeks. Subconsciously it must have been an effort to hide the color of his cheeks.
"I just must be warm. It is kind of warm in here and it's late and all." He continued, not very well at making up excuses. He was more embarassed about the fact that he was blushing than anything. That had never happened before. "Thank you, though."
He brought his head to face the front again and slowly dropped his hands back onto the table, the color slowly draining from his cheeks.

"I'm not warm," Ferris said and caught on a second later that he was trying to make up an excuse. "Oh, right....well you're welcome." She said the last part matter-of-factly.
"Do you do any art or anything?" She tried to change the subject a little bit.

"Must be me then." He said, the small smile returning to his face.
"I paint. I've been attempted to be taught how, but I don't think you really learn art. It's natural, something you're born with." Kyoya said, feeling much better that they finally had something in common to talk about.

"AH! We're in agreement there! I hate art classes! All, 'it must look like this, tut tut'," she sat up staight an imitated a stuck up art teacher, shaking her finger at kyoya.
Returning to normal she continued, "I really respect painting. I can't do it at all."

"Exactly. It's just like you can't teach the truely great musician's how to play or write music. They were born with the natural ability to do so." Kyoya said adding to the conversation. "I mean, there is a formula some artists use to write a song. But the really good ones are written with real, raw talent."
Kyoya smiled once again. "Well, I try. I'm not the best painter in the world, but I enjoy it."

"And that's all that counts!" She beamed and leaned forward, grasping her hands together on the table. "So what do you paint?"

"Landscapes." Kyoya responded quickly. "Or objects. I'm really horrible at people, so I stick to what I know. The last thing I painted was a vase of purple flowers."

"mmm, purple. Used to signify majesticism," Ferris unclasped her hands and put a finger to her head like she was pulling information from her brain.
"I bet it was pretty though. Landscapes are cool because they do have their moods yet it's harder I think anyways, to guess what the mood is, you know? It's more subtle or something."

"Of course." Kyoya said, his smile fading slightly. "I painted it for my mother. She put it in her favorite room. It's her favorite color." He continued with some more information.
"I'm not too fond of the painting. Defintely seen better." He nodded his head first in reply. "That's very true. Like many of Van Gogh's paintings. He either painted night time scapes or in dark colors like oranges. Very sad and depressing man. Most of his paintings follow that."

"Oh," Ferris stated, her mouth lingering in the shape of an 'o' for a moment, as she cast her eyes in a different direction.
"Well it was probably because you were painting for someone else, and not for yourself...maybe? I dunno, I've always thought that's what made painters so much more famous after they'd croaked you know? Because in their lifetime, they didn't paint for other people. They painted for themselves, so other people never got exposed to it or didn't want to be exposed if it had nothing to do with them. It was only after the artist had died, people gave them a look and saw the emotion in them and were finally able to appreciate it."
She twiddled her fingers a bit, playing with the ring on her pointed finger.
