"Ah, well, that's capitalism. Everyone wants something out of everything," he said. Really, he didn't want that much himself.

"I'm curious. Who are you exactly?" she asked after a moment, looking straight at him.

"Xidun," he said. "A werefox, a wanderer. Not much else to me."

"Of course. And nothing unusual is happening to the land." she said, her words dripping sarcasm.

He looked to the ground. Using his usual counter to sarcasm, he cheerfully said, "The dirt looks fine to me," in a tone that suggested innocent ignorance.

"You haven't noticed? Something's happening. The animals are restless, as are most the people. Something's going to happen." she pushed, trying to get something out of him.

"That's odd," he said. "I'm part both, somehow I haven't felt a thing. But, if there is something going on, I wouldn't have a clue what..."

"Are you just saying that so I won't ask about you? Because I won't, if you'll give me a striaght answer." she said, glaring at him.

"If I am what I say I am, then what do you expect me to know?" he asked. "It's not like I'm a prophet or a priest or an angel or any such ridiculous thing." His tone wasn't irritated, but more still to the side of ignorance.

"But you still haven't noticed? I have, and I've been running fro-..... Well, it's not hard if you pay attention to anything around you." she said, ignoring her slip.

"To be perfectly honest, I pay attention, but it's not for that sort of thing," he said. "I'm a bit more concerned with what's going on around me than whatever threat the whole world's against. Every time the entire world was threatened in its history, somebody else helped save it. Someone without any idea what's going on, obviously has no business trying."

"It doesn't worry you that the animals have fallen silent? And how you put it, if you don't know what's going on, then you shouldn't try to figure it out? I shouldn't try to find anything out about my past, because I don't know what's going on and who doesn't want me to know?" she asked innocently, mocking him in the process.

Ako awoke in a cool steel room. Her hands were bound along with her feet. A gag was stuffed into her mouth. Her hair fell restlessly about her shoulders and she was dressed in what seemed to be hospital patient garb. Impatiently, she tugged at the chains, tears beginning to stream from her eyes. She whimpered slightly and she began to worry about her father, and how he would react. He had always known that she could be kidnapped, but she had never believed him. Now that it really had occured, she was helpless and she tried with all her might to try and send a psychic message, like they had taught them in the Order. Nothing seemed to happen, so she fell restlessly onto the floor, suddenly feeling drained. She was so tired from trying, she had figured, and she fell asleep onto the cold floor.

Father Michael glided through the air, helpless to the event until he found more out about her dissapearance. With a pulse that went through the wind and cut through the currents and the trees, he fell from the sky, suddenly a human again. His black wings now fit to make him look like a fallen angel as he fell from the sky. He landed with a "thump" on the leaf covered ground of the forest. With hesitation he began to get up. His wings were limp around his shoulders, and he fluttered them uselessly. The back of his Excorcist uniform was split where the wings had sprouted as he had transformed back to a human. In the whisper of the wind he heard Ako's voice whimpering and murmering softly, "Help." With fear creeping into his heart and mind he wondered if anyone else could hear her cries...

Jumping slightly when she heard something crashing through the trees, she looked from Xidun to where the sound came from, then back to Xidun. "You can't have not heard that, or not be curious." she said, not expecting an answer from the werefox. Resting a hand on the hilt of one sword, she silently turned from him and walked towards where the sound came from, and saw Father Michael, who she didn't exactly know yet, and moved back behind a tree as she watched him rise, wondering if there was a connection between his and Ako's wings.
