"It's about damn time!" Aleister snarled, as he sprang away from the table. He whipped his pistol out of its holster and fired off a few rounds, the deafening sound matched the size of the gun, each shot ringing through the air like a churchbell. He managed to wing one of his targets through the ceiling, but whatever he hit wasnt just meat cause most humans tend to go down when struck by a .50 caliber bullet. This guy only flinched, and returned fire with a fully automatic vengence, nailing a couple of fleeing bar patrons as Aleister dived clear, owing his life to an amped up nervous system and a strong sense of self preservation.

[[ Hope I can post here without saying somewhere else, if not, then PM me about it and I'll delete the post. ]]

Rafael watched with widened eyes at the action before him. He did not know the man who was shooting, but knew damn well he had a good reason. He thought it might be his eye talking, but he doubted it. Acting on instinct, he stood up from his table and drew his laser pistol. He nodded at the quick dodger and rolled around next to him.

Quick as a flash, Rafael stood and fired three blasts at the guy who fired before the man he was protecting. There was another man near them, but Rafael took no notice of him. After firing the shots he ducked down next to the one next to him and dragged him behind a falling table.

"Rafael," said Rafael quickly and quietly. "Don't even ask me why I'm doing this, Because I don't know myself."

The bogged down sword took the help of some muscle replacements to break free of its flesh prison. The sound of more running down the stairs told him it was time to jet. He spun around and found Aleister trading fire with someone armed with an automatic. Aleister could hold his own with a pistol but an auto would make it a bit tougher and the fact that his buddies would join soon didn't help. Just as Threl finished that thought someone joined Alister in firing back. But what really caught Threl's eye was the person running into the back store room. The sound of foot steps wasn't slowing down and Threl trusted Alister enough to stay alive this early in the night, so Threl made a running jump for the bar and headed for the back room.

Aleister rolled to his feet and watched Threl disappear into the back room, "Good, its time to get the hell out of this fragging place." The fire from Rafael's laser had bought them a moment, and they werent about to waste it.
Aleister Shoved the new guy towards the front door and started to make a break for it himself, laying down some supressive fire as he ran. He didnt really expect the front door to be clear, but it beat being cornered in that s**t-hole bar. Speaking of s**t, where was Lanx?

The back door was locked when Threl reached it but it gave in from a strong shoulder. The door flung open to reveal what appeared to be a bedroom with a window against the far wall, Threl dashed to it and was greeted by a row of think steel bars. "You rat..." He spoke to himself as he took a quick look around the room. It was Lanx's room alright, his night vision had already showed him it was Lanx who ran back here but the little doubt he had now vanished. Time was short but Lanx had to be here somewhere... "Come on out chum, I ain't mad!" He yelled as he flipped the wooden bed over. The bed flew against the wall a hit it with a loud bang but the floor under it revealed nothing. Threl ran to the closet and found the door lock also, so once again he shouldered it but this door was reinforced. His shoulder would have been in great pain but the muscle relaxers were doing their job. Before he could begin to think of a way in, a loud bang came from in the room. So instead of thinking he charged the door again and again. Slowly it began to splinter until he pulled it off the hinges. Behind the door was a large closet that contained a few suits hanging on a clothes rack but behind those was Lanx... There he was leaning on a large safe, on the floor next to him a large gun, in his head a large hole. "You always were a coward..." Threl said as he went through the corpses pockets. He found a keyring and Lanx's wallet, the wallet revealed another key and a cred stick. He pocketed the cred stick and was about to leave when he noticed the safe was cracked open. He pulled the door the rest of the way open to find a clip and holster that was for the gun on the floor and a laptop computer. He grabbed one of his jackets off the rack and tied it up into a makeshift bag. He then threw the computer, gun, holster, and ammo into it and turned back to find an exit.

Rafael was unceremoniously shoved out the doorway still with gun in hand. Several bullets missed him slightly before he managed to slip behind a dumpster. The other man cartwheeled in next to him.

"Want to tell me why I saved your a**?"

Before wating for an answer, he holstered the photon blaster and pulled from his ankle a cylinder, about two index fingers long, with a whole at one end. There was a grip, but no recognisable button. Rafael squeezed, and a sustained laser protruded out. First it was a few inches, then thirty centimetres, and finally it reached about a metre.

The front door was wide open, held by the prone form of a barfly that had been tagged, and was lying on the floor moaning, a pool of blood spreading around him. Aleister mumbled his thanks as he raced through the door.
Nobody was waiting for them on the other side, which was good, but in the open street he knew they wouldnt be much better off. The new guy had the right idea and was taking off towards some refuse. The guys upstairs opened up again, firing through the walls, floor, anything. The front of the bar was covered in little holes, dots of light shining into the dark street. Aleister ducked left, running around the side of the bar towards the back.
Turning another corner, he found the reserves he'd expected at the front door, a couple of guys in dark combat fatigues, carrying assault rifles. Light flashed off their optics as they turned to greet Aleister. Either he'd suprised them or they were just too fragging slow, before they could take a bead on him he'd already popped one of their heads off with a couple of rounds and had two on the way for the other. The second guy took a hit in the shoulder, spinning violently before crashing to the ground. Aleister was on top of the guy in a breath, putting a few more rounds into him to be safe.
Aleister grabbed a rifle and pulled the harness off one of the fallen, he could probably find a use for the extra ammo. He had just tightened the straps when a beam of intensified light pierced his shoulder, bringing a mad howl out of him. Wounded he staggered a few steps down the alley and dropped into a crashing roll that brought him down behind an engine block and some scrap metal. Laying prone he tried to find the thermal image of his next target.

It seemed the all the bar patrons had fled into the neighboring ally, hopefully they brought the attackers with them. Threl still had no idea what the hell was going on. Once again his meeting with Alister was broken up and this time it got pretty ugly. The bar was destroyed, every table, chair, and glass lay broken. Threl quickly made his way through the carnage towards the front door when he began to hear this thunderous stomping. He turn back towards the stairs where he killed the first goons. The sound was echoing down the steps and whoever or whatever it was would soon be there. Without warning bullets started ripping through the walls of the stairs case and in Threl's direction. Threl ran towards the front door thinking that whatever was in the ally must be friendlier that whatever was back there.

:// DO NOT ENGAGE, I repeat, do not engage! Over. ://

Kaeda frowned, but backed off. Her temper was short, and her blindside even shorter. The fights on the street evaded her conciousness completely.

:// DO NOT ENGAGE, I repeat, do not engage! Over. ://

She just about ripped the comm apart, her gray eyes turning into a blinding green. It was too late to stop her now. Letting out a feral roar, Kaeda tore right through a brick wall and rampaged through the fray. Bullets seared against her flesh, but she didn't seem to mind them much.

Crackling noises sounded in the far corner. The rabbit was on the move at long last after being immobile for about 6 hours. Back about ten, twelve years ago, the prototype had been designed to record. It had been used for spying and for transfer of information. Built not only for durability but for agility, the prototype took about 4 years to complete. It had taken its share of hard blows and once had to almost be completely rebuilt. As the years passed by, there were weapons attached to the mechanism to give it an advantage in rough situations.

Leaping into her path, the rabbit took the blunt of a charge and was sent flying through a nearby window from the impact. Kaeda gave another feral roar, her glowing green eyes piercing through stone, bone, and everything in between.

"I think," said Rafael. "I think that maybe it's time I kill something. And I think it's time I know your name."

By then Rafael realised he was talking to thin air, and sprinted to keep up with his protectee. He watched him clean up a couple of guys and crash though into an engine block. Rafael tore past him and sliced off one of the people firing madly at the pair, with his sword-laser contraption. He narrowly dodged a couple of bullets and disabled a laser rifle with his modified CyberEye.

Not long after, he "disabled" another two people and had a bullet lodged in his metallic hand. He also had a few in his flesh, and they hurt like hell. He made a mental note to get some new shoulderpads. When a second bullet hit his metal hand, he dropped the sword and it turned itself off before it hit the concrete. He rolled behind a piece of scrap metal and drew his gun, firing off a couple of shots towards his attacker.

They both landed, sending the person into a brick wall. Rafael sprinted and picked up his sword, then hid behind an adjacent piece of scrap metal, probably from an armoured vehicle.

The Twisted Blade had become a warzone. From his protected position behind the scrap heap he had a moment to survey the area. He could make out what had to be Threl charging the front door of the building, which was good, they needed to make an exit, whoever the new guy was, he was keeping their assailants busy enough, but for how much longer? There seemed to be no end to this assault. Aleister couldnt keep track of all the chaos, the sound of crashing brick from somewhere nearby, gunfire, the muted wail of he mortally wounded, this was getting pretty hectic even for the sprawl.
"Slot this..." Aleister mumbled, using his good arm to push himself into a low crouch, he wasnt bleeding badly, but his right arm was mostly immobilized. From there he backed down an alley between a few nearby buildings, he'd have to pull out of the line of fire and lose this party somewhere before he could come back for his bike. Threl knew him well enough not to wait around, so he didnt have to worry about him, and he didnt really care if Rafael followed him or not, he seemed to be making a pretty good mess as it was so there wasnt much point in stopping him. Quite satisfied with the amount of action he'd seen this night Aleister stalks off quietly into the streets

The sound of a brick wall crashing boomed from somewhere outside the bar but at this point Threl knew it was time to leave. This hadn't been the first war Threl had been involved in but it had been the first time he didn't know why he was involved. The thundering stomping was growing louder like whatever it was was running now... Once outside the bar he realized how bad it really was. There were bodies all over the floor, blood everywhere. The guy that was with Alister was trading fire down the ally so using that to his advantage Threl dashed to the street. "Frag this! I'm going home."

"Weapons engaged."
The metallic rabbit fired rapidly into the wall before jumping right through and leaping back to make another assault on Kaeda. Though it was invisible, Kaeda locked onto the metallic creature and fired a couple rounds of her own. The rage of a demon was loose here.

Meanwhile, a couple hundred miles away...
"Containment unit, ready to go sir." Skrael grinned, reaching up and flicking on a couple switches. The engines fired and the roar drowned out everything else for a couple minutes. Turning off the comm, Skrael turned to her co-pilot. "Think the rabbit can hold her off?" The co-pilot shrugged. "That's what it was built for."

Rafael finished off the last of the attackers and looked around. He felt a great urge for blood, and found no more things he could slice open. He disengaged his sword contraption and wandered around looking for more things to kill.

[[ May randomly appear in many places just helping people kill things. Not in two places at once though, I'll make him leave before he goes to another thread. ]]

Aleister kicked his way down the filthy streets towards the remains of the Twisted Blade. The neighborhood was washed in an ugly yellow light, the result of afternoon sun filtering though the haze of smog that blanketed the sector. He had a stained old duster wrapped around his shoulders, buttoned near the top with the collar pulled up to hide his face from the sun, the sheen of sweat glistening on his exposed scalp.
It had taken him the better part of the day to get back down here, and hadnt had anything proper to eat or drink in a while. He'd come back to look for his bike, but half hoped there'd be something edible left at the bar.
Reaching the end of the block Aleister stopped to survey the collapsed husk of a building that used to be the Twisted Blade. One of the walls had been knocked out, taking a good portion of the building with it. The place had been mostly made of corregated steel that Lanx had bolted to the remains of an older structure, no wonder the place fell apart.
He'd stayed away a while, long enough for things to settle down before deciding to return. The likelyhood of anyone actually looking into what had transpired that night was scarce, noone had the resources, or the interest to follow up on every shootout that went down in burnt out parts of the sprawl like this.
No, he mostly wanted to give anyone who might have been waiting around for him time enough to get bored and leave, just the same he kept his finger on the trigger of the carbine hidden in his coat.
Making his way around the wreckage he noted the positions where the dead had been outlined on the street. Someone must have had to make some kind of report, guess they'd have to with all the bodies. Strangely though, some were missing. The alley was stained with blood and casings littered the floor but nothing marked. Not so suprising, a professional'd have to clean up after himself, wouldnt do to leave the bodies of his crew lying around dead in the streets, that wouldnt be good for cred.
After kicking a few broken bottles around behind the bar Aleister gave up on finding anything worthwhile, the place had already been picked through. So he made his way to the largest section of collapsed wall and started tossing sheets of bent metal and broken brick around until he found what he had really come for.
His motorcycle was laying on its side, slightly dinged but still in one piece, it's outer shell taking most of the damage. Righting the bike and dusting off the side console he entered something on a touchpad, to which the machine responded by lighting up and starting its engine.
Aleister kicked a few pieces of junk out of the way, climbed onto his bike and rolled over the rest of the scrap, stopping to look over the remains of one of his older haunts before pulling out onto the street and taking off towards the Fields. He had to find Threl again, and that usually meant finding the dankest hole in the sector and waiting for bodies to start turning up.
