Xearus was lost in his own meal momentarily. Nothing as sensual as fresh blood sliding down your throat. Better than sex...yes he could claim that comparison. But the whining beside him drew him and he hurried to drain the guy, dropping a limp body.

Walking over to Calin he smacked him again, this time sending him sprawling away from the woman. He checked her and sighed. Dead already. And from not even a vampire bite. "You are horrible at this!" Okay, anger time.

He stalked over to Calin, stomping a boot down onto his hand. "One! Never get bit! Your blood gets misplaced and mixed and things go wrong and we have b*****d fledglings! " Twist of boot. "Two! You cracked her skull open, that's what you did wrong! You're a vampire! Not a god damned Neanderthal!" Boot off hand, kick to the gut. "And you didn't feed! Now you have to do it all over again!" Another bone crunching kick. He had to bring this thing back fully fed.

He head shot over to the clap and familair voice. "Just what I need, you to tease me. Looks like you had a nice dinner Semara."

Calin cried out in pain. "Dammit! I tried. The b***h wouldn't stop squirming." He howled when the boot was twisted on his hand and yanked his hand out whimpering. "Stop it!" He looked over at the dead woman and he felt sick. "I killed her didn't I? His face went completely white and he held his wrist, glaring up at Xearus. "Well if you would tell me what the ******** we were doing instead of just making me think I'm doing something..." He looked over at Semara and grinned stupidly. "Hi honey. Come to join us?" His wrist was killin ghim and it pissed him off that a little kid could do that to him. Then he got kicked in the stomach and he was really pissed. He moved away from the lethal boots with a growl. "I can't if you keep kicking me! a*****e."

"It's like fishing you idiot! Why the hell are you going to tackle her when I broke her ankle?! You can over power her, she's just a human!" This was so very irritating.

"Of course she's dead!" He growled, hissed...and backhanded Calin again. He was going to learn the hard way to cross Xearus. "And now you can't feed on her! You can't ever drink dead blood!" Now he yanked Calin up by the collar. "You're going to do it all night if you have to."

Then he boot stomped Calin's foot. "And don't address her like that. Know your ranks! Anyone who is not you, you should consider higher than yourself!" Yes, Xearus was good at his work.

"Mmhmm," Semara gave a nod of her head and rubbed one hand on her tummy just to make it further clear. "Played with my food more than this fool here and I still got a good one, skinny but full enough." A grin and she pulled out a small pocket mirror, whiping away a smudge of blood from the corner of her mouth, she must have missed that.

"Little boy have a boy of your own to teach the ways of things? I see feeding is on the blackboard for today." One quick look around to survey the scene and another shake of the head. "I think fledglings are getting stupider. It's together with the quality of the human race going downhill."

She watched the fledgling and her eyes flared again. Quickly she grabbed him and yanked him up, holding him so his feet dangled above the ground, a feat she was able to accomplish thanks to her own height and boots. "Do NOT call me honey, babe. I am Mistress Semara." Using her free hand, she punched him hard in the chest, letting go of him to launch him back hard into a wall. Then she tossed her head and turned to Xearus, "You two are getting along well I see." She stood by her friend to lean one elbow on his shoulder, "So nice when you are authoritive over the people you are actually allowed to be authoritive with, but I had to have my piece."

Xearus scoffed, setting his hands to his hips. "Getting along lovely." Idly he wiped the blood from around his own mouth and took to hiding bodies as he let Calin recover slightly. "Darvien said I better teach him to hunt and bring him back full...then he has something else for me to do."

A slight smile to her. "Oh by all means, your piece was well placed. Pretty boy seems to need things beaten into him." Then he got loud again. "Compose yourself Calin and pick a target,a nd get to trying again! I don't have all night!"

His face was still stinging from the last slap and he hissed again and howled when he stomped on his foot. He picked it up in his hands and hopped around a bit then growled when teh girl lifted him up. This was not his night. He slammed into the wall hard and then stood up shaking slightly. He wiped at his mouth and shook his head. "Dammit! Stop ******** hitting me!" Then he took off at a run with accelerated speed and kept going, never once realizing he was getting perilously close to the boundary line.

"Little ******** is running..." That wouldn't had bothered him...had Xearus not noticed the direction the idiot was running. "For the love of my fangs! Calin!" This was indeed bad. He grolwed. "Calin come back here!"

He threw a look to Semara. "This is going to get real bad real fast." Reaching into his pocket he handed her his protection medallion. He couldn't let Calin catch him with that and he had to take this risk.

Breaking into a run he went after him. Pity Calin had a head start.

The corners of Semara's mouth twitched lightly at the scene and only wished she had arrived sooner. A look of anger and panic then came when she watched the youngling run, and see where he was running to. She looked to Xearus, took the medallion, sighed and rolled her eyes. "Damn it..." She tucked away the medallion, well out of sight, there was no way she was letting him run after the idiot alone.

Following after the two of them, she watched closely, scanning the area for anything immediate that could catch them, though she knew there were those at the border waiting. Cloaking herself, she continued, ready to attack.

Back across the border, "Well you should not be so annoying, or difficult in general." Semara put out one hand though to make sure Calin was standing steadier, then sighed and only hissed at the blackrose fledgling, and gave a different look to Thalia and Xearus before starting to walk off. That could have been worse, but it could have been better. With a shake of her head she ran off to let out some of the rage on her side of the broder.

Xearus lacked his fervor of earlier. Didn't even play a trick this time when hunting. He merely grabbed the first person who was human and crossed the path of Xearus and Calin. Walking both over to an alley, he knelt down, hand covering the guys neck.

"Alright. Pay attention. Always be subtle, like I just did. Always prevent screaming. Then," He tipped his head back, exposing the pulsing vein in his neck, "This is the best place to sink your fangs in." A nod at Calin to do so. And he watched the fledging drink, a bit messily. "Feel him dying? Stop when you feel him about to slip away."

Calin was considerably more compliant that earlier. Maybe it was because he had the s**t scared out of him or that Xearus was being somewhat nice. But at least the fledgling got his fill and a basic show of what to do. The body was left and Xearus gestured for Calin to follow once more.

Dread filled him as he walked, watching his feet. Either Darvien would mangle him for the trouble, or Lynx would ban him from Blackrose and call him enemy. He didn't want either...but he had to pay one or the other. It was indeed a slow walk home, whiny Calin in tow.

Calin followed behind Xearus. He was in no way happy with the turn of events that night and it sorely hurt his pride that he had been smacked around and made to feel so very stupid. "Vampires...think they know everything." He had always been top dog when he was a daywalker and now he was back on the bottom rung of the ladder. Relying on his fists, had gotten him everything he had in his life. Now others were stronger, faster and more evil than he was. He was nobody and it irritated the hell out him. "Where are we going Master Xearus?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 15, 2005 5:51 pm

"No, fledglings think they know everything." It was his only mean remark. Hands in his pockets as they walked he fiddled with the pair of gloves that he kept in them. Darvien or Lynx, who was the lesser of the two evils he would have to face?

Xearus barely even reacted to the title that Calin addressed him with. Normally he would of been gloating about it. Throwing it in Calin's face with a snide comment. "Home. The night's wasted, and I doubt that you could preform at your best right now. Blackrose encounter and all. Are you alright Calin?"

Calin was momentarily taken aback by the calm Xearus in front of him. He sounded almost...tired. And now he was asking about his well being? Well this was certainly a surprise. "I'm ok..." He kept up with Xearus' smaller steps easily and said softly, "I'm sorry I caused you so much trouble...this is just a lot harder than I would have ever thought." He ran a beefy hand through his blonde hair and sighed, "I've seen all the movies and it looked so simple, just clap a hand over their mouth and bite. But it's a lot different."

Darvien, cursed, and loudly, slamming down the resignations and letters from campaign managers. Damn that Lynx, Damn him! Now he risked loss of two major peice on the board, and almost certianly one of them. Well it wasn't going to be his puppet mayor, and so he started making phonecalls. Owners to banks, to pull funds. Police to try and make things difficult for his defectors. mostly just the refusal of police escort or protection. Added funds to his canidates to help them overpower in the arenas and tv and radio.

Slamming down the phone, and then his fist on the desk. And where the hell was Xearus and Calin? they shouldn't have been out this long. Or maybe Xearus was getting a taste of his own medicine in a willfula nd arrogant fledgling.

Xearus' mind was clearly not with him entirely. It was running through worst case scenarios. Well at least Calin being fine and well fed was going to help him a little. "It's alright Calin. You do know, why I was being tough with you, yes?"

He sighed and picked at a fang. "Movies are different. So are the books. You'll find that things are not the same. Like garlic and crucifixes for example. Neither bother us at all, and holy water won't burn. Hell, want to attend midnight mass, do so....you won't burst into flames."

He tugged at the collar of his trench coat, looking to Calin now with those iridescent gray eyes. "You'll get the hang of it. I mean, I'm good at it now, but all fledges struggle, even I did. And as you've pointed out....I'm a lot smaller." Darvien's place was coming up into sight at the end of the street.
