Under the Bridge I'm Bridge! I've played flute for 8 years now, piccolo for two and I'm first chair piccolo and flute in our high school band. I'm a senior there. I know it sounds terrible, but we have a really small school (less than 500 students) and when I was a freshman our band had only 9 people. Ha! We've grown since then, and now we're somewhere around 35 students in our band. This is concert, marching, and jazz band all mixed together. Nice to meet you all!

Hi, I'm Shtetl/Courtney :D I've been playing for seven years, piccolo for... two? I think. I'm first chair flute in my school's Symphonic Band (our best band, yada yada yada) and I'm the piccoloist <3 Ohyeah, I'm a senior. XD

Hi, I'm Lindsey and I've been playing the flute for 4 years now. I'm in 8th grade so I don't have a chair or whatever. I don't play the picclo because it irritates my ears but I do play the french horn. I am the best flute player in my band and uhm... Yah. X3

My school has a begining and advance band, in begining we have 1 flute, 1 violin, 2 bass guitars, 2 french horns, an oboe, a baritone and a trumpet. In advanced we have 4 flutes, 2 clarinets, 3 trumpets, and one sax. I didn't count the percussion in either though. We only have 3 percussionists in all. Thats 22 people in all.

Wow. My band has 17+ flutes, 8 clarinets, 10-12 trumpets, 6 or 7 saxes, 5 percussionists, 1 trombone, 1 french horn, 1 bass guitar, and 1 tuba. Flutes rule my band, lol

hello, i'm tsuki. Um... my band has like a whole bunch of people... mostly freshmen. And our consert band is mixed up with our marching band.. kinda lame... and you don't have to be in jazz band if you are in band, but you have to be in band to do jazz. Yeah.. kinda lame

We have no jazz band or orchestra at our school... =(
It's pretty much marching in fall and concert in spring.

hola my fellow flute players. i've been playing flute for about four years total in the top band in the school and during certain sports seasons, pep and marching band. not very experienced yet but i'm loving it. oh, and i'm wake_gurl25/wakegurl

Wow, I joined this board and I don't even think I posted here...
Heh, woops...
Anyway, I have been playing flute for about 6 years. I use to play violin, but I figured band was the way to go.
I want to learn how to play alto...but I can't afford a flute like that...(our band can't afford that either...)

I want to learn how to play alto...but I can't afford a flute like that...(our band can't afford that either...)

Eh, I was better at playing the flute...even though I played the violin for about 6 years too... plus, my orchestra wasn't the greatest...People didn't care to practice or give effort... stare

Hello! I'm mj, and I've played flute for three years. My band is ehh around 50 or 60 people and we don't march or anything because my school is LAME . . . I'm a sophomore and I hate my school with a passion and only go there for the band!

Wow, you all seem to have pretty small bands! My band has around 160 people with 11 flute/piccolos for marching season and 13 for concert season. Since there in only one other high school in the school district we combine with them for parades and such and we have around 375 (they have a massive band). I am not sure how many flutes they have but they only have 3 or 4 piccolos.
