A lot of thee statements can just as easily be explained as Andrew's childlike nature, given the context of each scene.

We've already discussed the Warren scene, at great length..and both sides of the discussion agreed that there could be undertones that go either way.

The funniest thing about this whole discussion, is that there are two girls defending Andrew's alleged implied homosexuality, and there are two guys fairly certain that he isn't gay.....

There's definately a twist of irony there, and if I ever put my finger right on it, I'll be sure and share. wink

@Tashasan, I met Joss at a con, but Andrew's sexuality never crossed my mind, since I never questioned it before now. (Why couldn't I have met you girls a year ago?) Most of my questions were actually Firefly based........

That scene just takes the cake.

We're not trying to "convert" anyone. We're just trying to make logical points to counter ones we don't necessarily agree with. So chill out.

Anyway, I can see both sides are completely convinced and pretty much won't budge, so, whatever. If Andrew ever officially comes out (as gay or straight), we can rub it in each other's faces then XD

Gay. Horribly gay. First, he talks and acts gay. Second, he totally had a thing for Warren and really only did things for him because of that. He talks the whole time about them being together and such. Then he has the thing for Xander, and at the end a thing for Spike. Third, the girl thing. Even if he KNOWS and spends time with girls, something like that is either going to disturb him, or entertain him. Really. Yet it BORES him. I really think he is gay.

I go by what the creator and the actor said and I read on IMDb that Joss and Tom both said he wasn't. That should answer the question there.

Andrew is just really immature and the thing with Spike is more of a hero worship thing. The same as he did with Warren. You notice how in Angel he imitates Spike with the jacket and he also tries to imitate Giles? Plus he's an emotional guy. Just because a guy cares about another guy doesn't make him gay. I think he just gets really attached to other people that pay attention to him since he wasn't very popular in school and didn't have many friends.

I don't hear many people mention how close he got with Anya. He calls her 'the perfect woman' and he continually mentions how beautiful he thinks Buffy is. Scully from X-Files too lol. Both Anya and Buffy were taken so even if he had the confidence enough, nothing could come of it. He talks about women the same as any of the other guys in the series just more shy and timid about it because he's less experienced in that area than Warren and Jonathan.

Joss wrote Andrew as your stereotypical nerd that gets picked on and called gay because he has absolutely no luck with the opposite sex and has no idea how to go about getting a girlfriend. Sure if he were a little more confident he could, he's a handsome guy and he has a cute personality.

Besides all of that Andrew was the comic relief type character and a great deal of his storyline was simply for a laugh.

As for Warren, no. Warren had issues related toward women, mostly an anger from being mistreated in high-school by the cheerleaders and dumb jock crowd and maybe even some issues from his mother whom they mention once or twice. But he was very much interested in women.

So there you have it. No.
