Ana poked and prodded delecately around the body. Her brow was furrowed in concentration. "Neither do I, Vulcan...at least tracable. I just examined to see if the wounds were made in correlation with any magic power of any kind. As Ju said, this guy was fast. The murderer was a naturally fast person...this was not enhanced in any way." She moved down to the open hole where the knife was. She got Niccea's attention and they both began to murmer in another language.
Niccea turned back with the solution. "The knife was wiggled around in his innards. The cavity in the chest is way to big to be from the knife found in the chest and it is pretty shreded. Also, with my blood lore, I would also say this: two knives were probably used in this. One for the initial kill and another to mar the face. I can assume this because there is not a lot of blood in the areas surrounding the face wounds. It would logic to assume that the facial markings were done postmortem. This leads to a problem...The face markings could have nothing or everything to do with the murder. Of course, I could be wrong. I'm a blacksmith not a specialist. The body has been a body for nearly 24 hours. A fresh kill would have been easier to examine." She walked away from the body as her eyes slid to Crow. "How did you know there was murder...My understanding is that it was very hush hush, but I don't have any reason to accuse you of anything...It is your turn." She swept her hand towards the body.

Ju examined the wound on the body for a moment. "I believe that the killer was female, however I will have to examine the weapon to prove that. The face wounds are most likely a mark, so I suggest we find out if anyone else was found with markings similar to it." She looked up at the face and then to Nicca. "She's also right handed."

Niccea raised her eyebrow at Ju. "You insinuating something?" She examined Ju with her eyebrows raised. She stole back the pen and paper and made her elaborate family crest with her left hand. Course that meant nothing because her left hand was useless in all other activities. Her katana was strapped to her waist to be drawn with the right hand. "As to the mark. Crow thinks that is a "down with unity symbol" and contrary to your belief, he thinks the killer was a man after examining the knife. But then again he was focusing on the face slashes and if my theory is correct, the face wasn't marred with the knife that is now in Vulcan's possession."

"They might have used a smaller one to mark them, since the slices are much thinner. The dagger must have been about three inches in length." She paused for a moment, examining the body, but waited, knowing something was stirring within Niccea.

Vulcan took out the knife again and placed it on the cart. He then folded his hands together in a priest-like manner, deep in thought. Finally, he spoke, "What if it isn't a down with unity symbol?" his eyes flickered to Crow then back to the body, "What if it's a cult symbol? Or a religion or tribe symbol?"

Niccea still had the pen and paper from when she proved to Ju that she was left handed. She began to murmur in her language as he drew something. "If the knife for a facial mark is as thin as you say it could have been...I couldn't have made it...without knowing about it. Such a fine knife would be specialized for precision cutting. It would be less like a fighting knife and more like a surgical scalpel. I don't make items like that. There would be too much work involved for such fine tuning. I would remember if I made something that special." She held up a picture of a blade. "This is mere speculation on what the design of such knife could be. It can be concluded that this was made by a specialist with the intention of doing just this. You can't do this with just anything."

"If it is a scalpel, the person obviously took their time on this. This must mean they are not an assassin. Even if I wanted people to know who had killed them, I did not waste this much time on my signature..." She smiles coldly, remembering the mark she left which caused the viewer to usually faint from its grotesque appearance. "Interesting...."

Niccea noddled vaguely. She wasn't of that mind so she wouldn't know. "Unless the marks have been practiced time and time again...but what did you find interesting?"

"Just the whole thing. An assassin would not leave a body out in the sun for everyone to see. Whoever killed this person wanted people to see the body, to try and raise panic or create a disturbance. If what I've seen correlates with this, others are going to die....soon."

"My bet is on 19. I made the dagger that used. In cannon no less. A case of 20 of the same make of daggers was stolen back before the Alliance Ball." She twiddled the pen between her hands. "Yes...but the question is...what was there no witnesses to the crime?"

"If it was an assassin, then no. However, I do not believe we are working with one, but someone of a much lower status for dirtier work. We should send people into the underground workings of the city, and I am sure something would turn up then."

Niccea gave Ju a blank stare. "I can't do under ground. I'm too well known...My hair color is to rare for me to go under cover properly."
Ana nodded. "Me too...know one would take someone like me too seriously. No matter how dangerous I actually am."
"Lords Izuma and Vulcan are also too much of icons. I also think that it would be for the best to not let any more people know about this than need be. No outsiders. That leaves you and Crow...if we can even trust you." Niccea flipped her short white hair slightly. "I will pay attention to my customers though. I may not know the sorts myself, but a few of my customers are assassins and mercenaries. They may know something."
