"A Raticate," Chloe sighed. Thankfully it wasn't another Magnemite, but it wasn't a Pokemon she wanted to catch just yet. Always wanting to train her Pokemon from scratch, an already evolved Pokemon just wasn't her style.
Plus there was the mean temperment of the thing, she noted with a small frown, as the Raticate charged wildly. Chloe took a step back, as Mikami stepped in front of her, ready to meet the charge.

The Raticate finally managed to dislodge Mikami, who scurried away as the Raticate struck back with his own fangs, using Hyper Fang. Chloe winced as Mikami cried out, but the little bugger wasn't about to give in from one blow. In fact, he looked hopping mad.

"Alright, Faint Attack this time, Mikami!" Chloe instructed the Trapinch, who readily agreed, vanishing from view for a split second before lashing out from the shadows in the forest at the Raticate.

In all honesty, Mikami didn't know if it really was that important or not, but he had caught the sound of faint vibrations when he was underground during the fight with the Magnemite. The sound intrigued him, and he had his suspicions, but he wasn't entirely sure what it was he was leading Chloe into.
That didn't stop him from wanting to find out, though, as he rounded the last corner, curving around the trees to a small clearing. He stopped, before darting behind the tree again, motioning for Chloe to be quiet.
Chloe followed the Trapinch this far, peeking around the tree cautiously, wondering what it was that had the Trapinch so curious.
"...Wow..." she gasped.

In the center of the clearing lay a stone slab, which was now open, revealing a staircase below. A group of men stood near the slab, although as Chloe got a closer look, it didn't really look like they belonged to a Team, which is what first crossed her mind as she found the group. What caught her attention was the cold glint of metal, as one of the men, a tall, tan man with strangely white hair that hung loosely to his waist, pointed a scimitar at two others, one with black hair, another blonde, although Chloe couldn't tell many of their other features at her current distance.
Not that she was willing to just walk right up to them at the moment.
"Go on in," the white haired one sneered, and as Chloe looked to him, she caught the glint of an icy marine gaze, "After all, it lies down there, we can't give up just now, can we?"

The other two glared at the first, before reluctantly entering, the blonde leaning slightly on the other's arm as, Chloe realized, he was injured. The stain of crimson flashed briefly as he turned, and the trio retreated down the corridor, vanishing from sight.
"Now that was odd," Chloe murmured. "Wonder what's up?"
"Traaa..." Mikami murmured, equally curious. However, he had a few less reservations than Chloe, and immediately marched to the entrance, giving Chloe one last glance, toothy grin in place immediately, before he vanished down the corridor.
"Why you little-" Chloe muttered, shaking her head.

"I swear my Pokemon are gettine more unruly, even when I have enough badges to control them in battle," Chloe muttered as she cautiously approached the entrance to the passage. She peered into the gloom, squinting slightly as she tried to decipher anything beyond the door.
Just darkness...
"Of course..." Chloe muttered. She could hear the faint drip of water down further, as she cautiously entered.
Mikami stood just inside the doorway, glancing back at Chloe to make sure she was still there, before heading down the corridor, shuffling slightly, but keeping quiet nonetheless. Chloe was happy for that at least. The last thing she needed was a disruption.

As the two ventured into the cavern, they could hear voices up ahead, echoing off the walls of the passage, seemingly arguing. She caught the voice of the silver-haired man once again, and suddenly heard the sound of a gunshot.
Chloe took cover, nearly jumping from her skin as she ducked behind a group of boulders, Mikami burrying himself in the cavern floor in an instant. She heard a suprised cry, and another shouted argument, but she couldn't catch any of the words.
"What have you dragged me into???" Chloe questioned the Trapinch, who peered above the sand he was buried in to shrug at Chloe.

Chloe sighed in relief as the Raticate dropped to the cavern floor, deafeated. Returning to her quiet stalk of the cave, Mikami in tow, Chloe turned around the curve in the passage to find another door.
This one was torn from its hinges, the rotted wood kicked in with apparent ease, she noted, bending down to examine the splinters that were left.
Something caught her eye, as she examined it further, she gasped.
A small patch of blood splattered against the cavern floor, and a few drips going through the door to the other side. Chloe winced. So the gunshot had hit someone apparently.
Just what was she getting herself into? She glanced to Mikami, who seemed a bit cautious at the sight of blood, but the Trapinch still wanted to go further, she could tell. He kept glancing to the door, then back to Chloe.

Mikami wouldn't have any of Chloe's complaining, though, as he sped up his pace, Chloe wincing, but having no choice but to follow. The two continued down further, coming to a halt as the voices returned, but continuing on, at a much slower pace out of caution.
The murmur of conversation finally turned to words as Chloe rounded another corner, catching the light of a torch flickering on the walls. She stopped.
"Why? You shot me and left me for dead! What right do you have to complain if I choose to torture you to death?" came the voice Chloe recognized to be the silver-haired one again.
