Sakura nodded. "I remember something else from my dream. This sergent came in, and said something about Alphonse Elric being 'in the safe'." She said. "From what you said, your little brother loved you very much. Wouldn't he want his big brother back?" She asked him, meeting his eyes levelly.

"Oh no... He tried it. Even knowing what happened when we tried to bring back mom... He still tried it. Stupid Al!" He slammed his fist on the fence he had been standing near. "He's probably dead now, and it's my fault! Unless that sergeant meant he was in the hospital, my little brother is gone..." He looked down, squeezing his eyes shut. He didn't want to believe that Al had tried, again. A second time. And yet again, created a monster. Yet this time, it looked like him. A thought that scared him. "Sakura, I've got to get back there."

Sakura touched his shoulder lightly. "I know. Listen, people do crazy things to try to get back the ones they love. Maybe even, he could've had a theory, that by doing this would get you back from over the gate. Who knows. You weren't there." She said. "And, if Alphonse was 'in the safe', then I think that meant he was alive. Let's go down to the rocket institute. I think I have a hunch what's really going on over there." She said, trying to smile, but failing.

"Yeah, yeah," he replied, sighing. "Let's go.." He pointed down the road, toward a stream of smoke that was wafting into the robin's egg sky. "It's obviously over there," he joked, rolling his eyes. "Looks like they screwed up again... c'mon."

Sakura ran up beside him again, smiling. "They always have something blowing up down there, don't they?" She asked, trying to make light conversation.

"Yup," he replied, grinning slightly. "They do.. That's cause they're mostly idiots, though. They try things without thinking them through fully." He shrugged. "Oh well. That's probably why I like Alphonse so much. He knows what he's doing. The rest of his crew, on the other hand..." He trailed off, sniggering.

Sakura giggled. "He's probably the only one there with the slightest bit of intelligence. The others though... stereotypical blondes. No offence." She said, grinning. "We're almost there."

"Thanks a bunch," he groaned, as they reached the research site. There was a group of men standing around a blackened patch of grass. The patch was smoking, sending large clouds of coal-colored smoke into the air. He stared for a minute. "What'd you guys do?" he asked no one in particular.

Sakura clapped his back. "You're very welcome."
Alphonse turned around, scratching his neck, embarressed. "Hey Ed, Saky." He said, laughing a bit. "The rocket just... backfired... yeah." He said, pointing to the stream of black smoke across the sky.

"Yeah," replied Ed, rolling his eyes. "I'm guessing you didn't lift off in time and it exploded?" He stared at the patch with a look of disbelief on his face. "Alphonse, were you the one supervising?"

Alphonse rolled his eyes. "Of course not. Yuugo was." He said, jabbing his thumb over his shoulder.
"Alphonse!"
The group of young men turned their heads towards the building. "Yes?"
"You're needed inside!"
Alphonse turned back around. "Well, I'll see you guys in a bit." He said sheepishly, picking up his bag.

"Alright then," said Ed. "What should we do until then?" he asked Sakura, obviously at a loss for something to do until Alphonse got back. "Should we try to help them clean up, or what?" He didn't really have any idea.

Hikaru popped her head in the door. "Woah! hey Sakura! what did Alphonse do now?" She asked rubbing the back of her head and walking up to stand beside them.
