Andrea continued to scan the streets, alleyways, and rooftops that were in her line of sight. When she was content with the coast being clear she gazed over at Marcus, who also looked towards her. She gave a nod and Marcus started to disassemble his tripod. While he did this Andrea spoke ofver her D-Link to Landry, "Sir. Eagles are unable to spot the prey. Coast is clear from our point. Do you want us to regroup, sir?"

Landry answered the request.

Yes. Get yourselves ready to move out. We still got a military base to infiltrate.

Landry turned back to Anderson

Fine, Mr. Anderson. If you dont want to see that we have a harder job than you, and that we perform it pretty well, and we basically saved your asses at Namus Rock, then fine. I will try to be under the same stress which caused me to act how I did then. However, I don't want your team to get itself killed. That was a stupid decision on your part to just go barging into this building. Next time, let us clear it out and THEN you move in, Got it?

As Anderson was walkig awa he responded, "At least I went to the location where I was suppose to. You worry about your guys I'll worry about mine," he turned around, " Your right. You did save our asses back there. But I'm not dealing with the same drafted rookies out on the front line, anymore. Oh. And I believe that Carlos here refered to himself as the "distraction team". What was I supposed to do, take some pictures. No, I took that oppertunity to get in. And I cleared that building, of course with some help. However, we do help out each other here and then. And that's good given the fact that this is a brotherhood," he walked up to Landry again, " But when your ego comes in the way, or when your teams categroy -- Infantry or Spec Ops -- comes in the way regarding whos better, then the brotherhood falls apart. Countries tend to take the better of an item and scrap the old one. So, I'll leave it at this, If Spec Ops is better, why is an Infantryman standing in front of you right now -- with more kills I might add. Which is odd, cause I thought Spec Ops was better."

He turned and walked away. (( Sry about OOC in this thread however I'm pretending that this little blurb here is squeezed in between the other posts))

Landry just laughed at Kyle's response.

Right, and who almost got themselves blown up because they couldn't take the necessary precautions? Your distraction team was lucky we came in when we did. Your other teammate was about to get himself killed by running up to a couple of rebels...with a grenade! If one of those rebels would have gotten off a lucky shot, your guy would be history. Of course, I was headed to my place, but your guys were having a bit of trouble, so we helped them out. Hell, you haven't even given your thanks to your Angels who killed off the guys on the catwalks firing at you from above. By the way, those were SpecOps who did that. Now, if you could be so kind, could you upload every coordinate you get onto your PC? At least you won't have to worry about your recklessness getting your COMS guy killed. Then, you could give me coords and then we can save your asses. Again.

....actually....sorry about the ego. Anderson, keep yourself from getting yourself killed...I have had enough stress trying to save your a** back at Namus rock...and that was the enemy. This is our own people. Possibly family and friends of our fellow soldiers. I am worried what we will say to those who were related to the people here. It was bad enough watching dozens of men being destroyed out in those trenches, and then that man...his eyes....right next to me....Deot....do you know how hard that is, to see a fellow soldier, Destroyed by a sound wave, and in the most disgusting manner? His eyes exploded! I could only sit there and watch it...I couldn't do anything. I am glad that commander was killed...But...how many lives did he have to take? Anderson, I am, although you might not believe it, glad that you survived. Carlos, I am glad you did too. Yes, I remember you. We lost a lot of good men out there....It changes a man.

I hope you understand Anderson. The ego...I have no clue in Oblios where it comes from.

Landry walked forward, catching up with Anderson...

Kyle did have to admit that the strategic planning wasnt too great. The overall battle-plan was good but the sub-tatics were...well, horrible. Kyle admitted to himself it was bad but fifn't say it aloud. Kyle looked at Landry and responded, " Yea. I'm glad we're all here. If you died at Namus Rock...Carlos would be dead right now...along with me. Thanks." Kyle took a couple of steps back, " I'll see you out there."

Carlos turned back around towards Landry when he mentioned saving his a**. "We can handle ourselves. Like you said, they're only rebels. I could take a couple hits, to blow tehm sky high. All you did was blow a damn car ontop of me." He suddenly stopped when he heard Anderson speak up and thought, Well so much for that. Looks like he's a softie. He gave a half grin as he remained silent and continued to follow behind the two people. Me? Dead? he thought holding a back a laugh.

"Yes, sir," Andrea said over the D-Link before she went started to disassemble her tripod. When she finished she went to the ladder and looked over to Marcus, who was halfway down. With a small smile she grabbed the side of the ladder and placed her boots on the outside of it and started to slide straight down. About ten feet from the ground she started to grip the bar and slowed down enough to safely hit. When she landed she dusted herself off and looked at Marcus' ladder. He was still about five feet up when he jumped off. "Come on, slowpoke. You heard the Lieutenant. We'll regroup close to the military base."

Andrea and Marcus strapped their rifles to their backs and pulled out their sidearms as they came across an alley. On Andrea's signal they both turned the corner aiming their pistols down the alley. It was empty. They continued to proceed cautiously taking slow steps and listening for any type of movement. Urban warfare was a new tactic for the Imperium and they weren't quite sure how the unpredictable rebels would react. As they came to the next road they peeked around the corners and saw nothing. "Two more blocks until the military base," Andrea said to Marcus as she viewed the map on her HUD. About halfway across the road gun fire was heard and bullets seemed to pierce all around. Andrea and Marucs instinctively ducked and dived behind cover. The only thing was an old dumpster. Luckily it's contents held back most of the fire that penetrated the thin wall. "Sir," she shouted over her D-Link. She peeked over the edge and immediately hid back, "We're currently suppressed two blocks from regroup point. Sending coords now, sir. They seem to have gotten to a supply of heavy weapons. I counted two chain guns. We need help."

She then looked over to Marcus who was holding his gut. He was breathing deeply and when he removed his hand slightly blood started to trickle out of the wound. "Damnit," he said as he coughed and again applied pressure to his wound. "Why the hell didn't we notice them?" He cursed himself for his ignorance and lack of attention. With his free hand he reached to his helmet and pressed a button. Over his D-Link he said, "Sir, I've been hit. It's pretty bad, I need a medic soon."

Anderson stopped and heard the transmission, " Dammit..." He then turned to his group, " OK, guys. You heard him. Medic, put the MB up to full speed after grabbing supplies to treat the wound will in route. Everyone else, haul a** to the tango field and nuetralize the threat." Kyle threw his rifle over his shoulder and grabbed his sidearm. He received the coords and knew he couldn't be shot at yet so he just had the hanggun out for any guys who pooped out and so he could run faster.

Meanwhile, the medic had stopping the MB to get supplies. He stocked up and put them in his battle pack. He sealed the doors shut and entered in the coords. He then turned the dial all the way up. He shut the control panel and ran to the site, out running the MB. He was still behind every else though. Giving time for them to clear the area, or at least give the medic a safe enough envirnment to treat as best he can or, even better, suppress the threat long enough for the medic to get Marcus back to the MB for full treatment.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 2:06 pm

((Damn wel my idea has half gone moot....oh well, I can still get the other half))

Landry recieved the transmission.

Roger that Andrea. We will get our medic out there ASAP. Just sit tight and try to hold off any advances until we get there....Ok, team, I want you all to get yourselves ready. I know that you don't know much about urban warfare, save one or two. I know more about it than anyone here, seeing as I had to fight in the cities before, taking down rebellions in my own home city. So, listen up! Assault units, I want you to move out to the coordinates listed. Follow the Grunts here and give them any backup they need. Take cover behind the buildings and try not to get shot. Keep your heads down. They have two chain guns and that is gonna be hard to take on in a full frontal assault, so I want me and my two other stealth units to make it around the buildings and sneak behind and flank the chainguns. They will have cover, so our best bet is to take the actual buildings and go across the rooftops, or take out the snipers and zip ine through the windows. Once we get that over with, the medic should have taken care of Marcus and we should be ready to move on. We will make our way to the military base and we will have the stealth units on the roofs, ziplining across towards the vent system on the military roof. Assault units, stay with the infantry and provide backup. Once the snipers are ready, they will try to provide air-ground support from adjacent buildings. Until then, anything can happen. Move out.

And Landry started moving down the left side of the buildings, leaving his two assault units with the infantry, but all kept out their rifles, since it was much easier to fight with more firepower.

Landry and his two stealth units made it around the cleared building, running down the side hallways towards the surrounding area of the Coords. He spoke on the D-link to the snipers once again...

Snipers, load enemy positions onto coord plane. I will be expecting them when I arrive within ten seconds of hitting the area. Over.

Carlos followed behind Kyle as they started ahead of the MB. He kept his rifle shouldered and ran close to Kyle. Scanning over the coords in his HUD he found and examined the layout of the city where the two speccies were pinned down. When he finally started running alongside Kyle he said, "Sir, what's the plan? We can't just go in head first into a suppressed sector. The city has many alleyways, we could always take a side route. The speccies plan to do the same, but they must expect us infantrymen to be stupid enough to distract them from the front."

Landry was about a block away from the coords

I heard that soldier. You gotta remember that these things are basiaclly always on. And no, we don't think you are stupid enough to distract them, I sent two of my guys out, for cryin' out loud. You are to just keep their fire away from the snipers until the medic gets Marcus healed and we take the chainguns out. Keep yourselves from getting killed. My men are there to help you guys out.

"Yes, sir," Andrea responded again looking down at Marcus. "You sit here," she said handing him his sidearm that was laying next to him. "I know you can take care of yourself. Just don't die." She gave a soft smile as she looked around. They were pinned to a wall by the neverending barrage of bullets. Biting her lower lip, she pulled a grenade from her belt and pulled the pin. Waiting two seconds she turned around and threw it blindly over the dumpster. Considering the barrage didn't end, she assumed she missed. When the explosion was heard, she could hear their confusion and took her opportunity. She immediately darted across the street, seeing the black mark about ten feet from the rebels. Shaking themselves from their confusion they started to fire their weapons again. Andrea had reached the alleyway and heard footsteps heading down the alley that this one crossed. She immediately ran towards the noise and jumped against the wall to her side. She then kicked off of it and climbed the wall about fifteen feet and placed her feet against the wall to stay herself.

((Kind of like Splinter Cell. Carlos' idea xd ))

Hearing Landry's response, Carlos ran ahead of the rest. I know, it was meant for you to hear. Damn speccies. Why are we always stuck babysitting? He examined the map of the city through his HUD and found a path that would lead them to the pinned soldiers. He turned on his radio and said, "Sir, I think iI found a path through the alleys that will lead to our fallen comrades." He stopped and turned around pointing in the direction he planned to take. "I'll scout ahead." He then ran in the direction he pointed out holding his rifle ready for any spontaneous rebels. He didn't care that his boots made a soft thud that echoed through the alleys. At each corner he took he dropped two pieces of illuminated disks. One showing a corner he took, the other in the alley he chose to take. He was getting closer when he turned a corner.

When the person finally came around the corner, Andrea dropped from her high point and immediately grabbed the neck of the culprit. She instantly recognized the helmet and uniform and pushed the soldier away softly. She then waited for him to turn around and continued to listen. Nothing else from where he came from. This is our backup? she thought. "Is there anyone else coming?" she asked exasperated. "Don't tell me they sent a single grunt to aid us. We have a fallen soldier."
