"I would think that a lot of people would be looking up know that you mention it." Diana looked up at the blank ceiling with him and thought about it a little more. Then she turned to face him with a slight smile. "But I don't think they are seeing that boring ceiling. That boring ceiling is probably like a blank canvas maybe? They may be looking at a boring hospital ceiling, but they are probably seeing their life flash before their eyes. The last things they say could probably be the people or moments that made their life worth living. Then their final thoughts would be something along the lines of, 'I'm glad i was alive to experience that' or 'I'm glad I was able to meet that person in my life'Hehe Sorry if I rambled a bit~"

Max stared into Diana's eyes. He leaned in close to her, his lips almost touching hers. Instead of giving her a kiss like someone normal might do when in that situation. Max pressed his cheek to hers and gave her a tight hug. "You have pain too, don't you?" His eyes closed as he cuddled close to her. "When I die.. I'll say I'm glad to have met you." He really wished for her to hate him, so that if he did get crazy again and maybe die.. She wouldn't be sad, she'd have too much anger and hate for him.

"My pain is probably nothing compared to yours though." Diana replied hugging Max back. "Whatever you went through, you didn't deserve it. I'm sure they got what they deserve though too." What happened to Max was probably beyond anything she could imagine or understand. What she did understand was that it was wrong and inhumane. Some done by 'humans with no humanity', surely monsters wearing the skins of humans.

Max pulled back from her embrace and stared at her green eyes. "Why do you love me?" He asked rather bluntly. It didn't really register to him that Diana might not love him or even like him. She could just be doing it because it was the right thing to do. However, the way he worded it was strange all together. Max continued to look at her as he awaited an answer.

"Should I not love you?" Diana asked back. "What if I did?" It wasn't really a reply but the question was so unexpected she didn't know how to properly answer it. Did she love him? Maybe love was a strong word. But she definitely cared about him and she sure did not hate Max. Regardless of all the things she had seem him do.

Max thought for a moment. "If she loved me? ..I'd kill her if she loved me, wouldn't I? No, only if I loved her. That way no one else could have her but me." He looked at his wrists and picked at the wraps on them. "If you loved me.. I would give you a kiss. Maybe I'd let you live." Max didn't look at Diana, he couldn't. If she met his eyes he would surely blush and then run away. How foolish was it to fall in love with a killer? Did she know how silly she was being? Max couldn't love someone, he didn't know how, plus the monster inside wouldn't let him. Of course, when push comes to shove.. Max would love to love someone. He may be a killer, but once he got passed the bashful side of a relationship his serious side could come to light.

" Maybe you would let me live?" Diana asked with a light chuckle. She looked back at Max with a kind expression on her face. "I think love is a very strong word and one that I am not completely familiar with. I know I care for you though and that I want you to live. The person I see before me right now, is definitely somebody worth loving though." Although Diana didn't know much abut love in a romantic sense, she knew that it was impossible to love somebody on the same day of meeting them. Frozen had taught her that much.

Max looked at Diana. "I'm glad someone like you doesn't love me. It would get annoying." He gave her a cruel smile. "You know.. Girls have it easy. All they have to do is sit upon their tower looking pretty. Then wait for the right guy to climb up and rescue her. I'd never rescue a princess. If she could rescue herself and climb down on her own, that'd mean a lot more to me than anything else." His attitude was slightly aggressive and very cold, almost like Max wasn't himself. After a while he was acting like he had before. "Don't believe everything I say.. I lie a lot." Max's eyes were blank and emotionless as he stared down at his wrists. He gently unwrapped the gauze and examined the places he'd cut. They were scars now, blending in with the rest of his old wounds. It healed fast, faster than any human.

"Not all girls are princesses you know. " Diana pouted, "Being locked up against your will isn't fun. Life isn't like a fairy tale at all. Waiting isn't easy and neither is saving yourself or anybody for that matter, right? What if...the girl didn't think she was worth saving at all? Dealing with that in her head surely would be hard. I for example have little patience. Sometimes waiting in register lines is hard haha." Diana laughed a little trying to make light of the conversation. It kind of reminded her of something Max had said earlier. When he had called her a princess and asked if she would save him. Maybe there was a connection...or Diana is just thinking too much. "Wow you heal fast. That's good." her eyes glanced at his arms. It's unfortunate the scars won't go away. she thought.

Max trembled and sat up, moving off the bed as he backed up into a corner of the room. He could feel himself losing control of his actions. It was only his words a minute ago, but now it was what he did. "Just.. Just stay over there for a while, okay?" He sounded like it was painful to talk. Another minute passed and he yelled in pain as he held his head in both his hands. For him it felt like something was shredding the inside of his stomach, then lighting it on fire. Hot. It felt so hot. The burning came up to his throat and he ran over to the trash bin. Soon spitting up stomach acid and blood. Max's eyes flickered from their natural color to a deep black, making him look like an alien from time to time. The burning subsided and was then replaced with chills and sweat. Why? Why Max? He didn't ask for any of it.

"Max? MAX!" Diana sat where she was watching. But she couldn't stay still this time. It was too painful to just watch what was going on. Her body moved closer to where Max was but when she was about a couple feet from him she stopped. "H-Hey...What can I do to help?" Her feet starting taking steps to move closer. Step by step she was closing in the distance between them.

Max turned to look at her, his eyes were black.. Like death himself had given them to him. "I said.. I said STAY AWAY!" He screamed at her, his voice deep and demonic sounding. He turned back to the trash can and started scratching at his skin. "It hurts. It hurts! It hurts get it off!!" Max took out a pocket knife, and began to slowly peel his skin off of his arm. "Yes.. Yes!" His voice almost sounded sensual as he removed the pieces of skin, letting them hit the floor with the most disturbing sound. Slowly.. So slowly, Max turned to look at Diana with scratches on his face and deep gashes all over his neck, like he'd tried to strangle himself. "Th-This isn't me.." His inhuman eyes began to water. Gently streaming over his cheeks and mixing with the blood. It was stinging.
After a moment, the tears stopped and Max stood up, much taller than before. He slumped his shoulders and grinned, showing off sharp teeth like rows from a shark's mouth. Max took a step closer to her, blood began dripping off his arms. His eyes looked over Diana like she was a five course meal with his name carved into the plate. Max's head tilted to the side and he smiled wickedly at her. He outstretched his arm and then motioned for her to come closer. It was no longer Max.. A shell that was now being used by the monster.

"S-Stop it... P-Please..." Diana stood there shaking. Her face didn't show fear but that didn't stop the rest of her body. She could feel her heart racing, her mind was telling her to run. That would be the smart thing to do. Diana could save herself if she just decided to turn the other way and run for help. But running wouldn't save Max. Diana had said earlier that she would try to rescue him. "Please give him back!" Diana shouted. After taking a deep breathe she took a couple steps forward to the point where they were within arms reach of each other. Diana's body stopped shaking. There was absolutely no running away now. "I am asking you kindly. Please obey." It was almost laughable at how proper she sounded. Diana couldn't believe her own words but the word 'please' has been driven into her since the beginning.

Max's arm bend and his hand moved around her neck, squeezing it enough to keep any air from entering or exiting. "Foolish girl.. Do you not fear me?" His hand slackened, allowing her enough air to speak freely. Max waited a moment, but didn't let her answer before he spoke again. "If you really want to save him.. Then offer yourself to me instead." He smirked, showing those shark teeth again as he leaned in close to her. Almost a foot taller than her and he needed to bend most of himself to even reach her ear. A slimy tongue came out from between his lips and slowly drug itself across her cheek and around her ear. The fear he wanted to see in her.. It burned the back of his eyes. Max squeezed her throat a second time and then released, scratching across the front of her neck as he pulled his hand back. It was hard enough to make her skin bleed, but not deep enough to be fatal in any sort. Max bent backwards, gaping his mouth and letting his long tongue slip out just a bit. "Hah.. Ahahaha!" His voice was so deep, it was like an evil genius laugh from the movies. He stood back straight and looked her dead in the eye. "So, what's it gonna be?" Max's body was almost at it's limit, soon he would reclaim it, but if Diana could stall just a bit longer..

Ow this hurts...It's... hard to breathe... Diana thought. When his hand was released from her throat, her body fell to the floor coughing. Give him...my body? Her mind considered the option and weighed out the pros and cons. After some time of thinking, the answer was easy. "I won't give you my body. Bad people are not rewarded and given what they want." She rose up to her feet and faced the monster again. "There has to be another way to save him. I want to find it! Until then please stop hurting Max!" Diana's hands reached out to her neck and touched the marks he made. She felt her blood that ran down her neck as it started to change the color of her white collar. "You can't possess me, but I will allow you to hurt me as a replacement of Max's body. Please stop cutting up his arms. We just bandaged them too." One of her hands wiped the blood clean from her neck revealing that the cut had already healed. "I think a heal a little faster anyways uh... So what's it gonna be?" She matched his gaze and stared right back at the monster before her. She was a little uneasy that she said something to dramatic. Diana was honestly not sure if her body could heal that fast but it was worth a try. It was something and something is better than nothing.
