At Vinan's question, Fuast loosed a harsh bark of laughter.
...At least, it sounded like laughter.
"Morally correct according to whom? Good and evil don't actually enter into morals, kid."
As the extent of his arctic ally's disquiet became clear, he calmed himself.
When next he spoke, his voice was softer; no longer mocking.

"...Sorry. Don't mean to get you down.
I've seen a lot over a long, tiring career, is all.
Quick lesson that matters on the undead, kid. There's a big difference between 'right' and 'good'."
When the elevator stopped, the armored man let his knees bend once more to take the jerk.
The opulence brought a grimace to his lips, shadowed as they were by metal.
These new surroundings didn't really suit his tastes.

Something smelled wrong, felt wrong. Whatever it was, he couldn't pinpoint it.
Given the nature of his work, the curse-bearer was not squeamish.
What they'd passed down there, though, left a bad taste in his mouth.
"Crap funding stops you from cleaning up freshly-dead bodies?
Pull the other leg, man; it's got bells on it."

"..But Shara would not let somebody who kills keep their personality..
He's the God of Life.. Despises death.." Vinan sighed.

"Yep, they're tha-" He began to say to Jahev, before Fuast's comment.
"D-dead.. Bodies?
I.. I didn't know about any..
Um.. I'm sorry you had to see that, you should..
Go.. Go tell the police.. They'll..
They'll take care of it..
You can ask for directions."
The man was noticeably scared, now.
And understandably so, after hearing a murder took place right below his feet.

The Assassin of Chaos

"Oh come on, why me? / You could just as easily.. / Okay, fine, I will.."
"Ahem. Assassin. / This is your daily quote, 'k? / Well.. Semi-daily.."
"I can stop now, right? / Oh by the gods, thank you.. / That was horrible.."

Sorry for missing initial quote, Chaos.
FORMAL APOLOGIES!

Jahev nodded and moved on, as if nothing was happening.
'Knowing how funding probably is, the police won't do too much for it. Besides, not our problem,' he added on, making for the exit.

(Apology is taken, formally greeted and accepted within the family of apologies.)

Fuast held the man's gaze for a moment, taking his measure of the man.
He wasn't much impressed by what he saw, but to be fair, he wasn't expecting much.
Guy was a public worker, after all.
Taking pity on him, he shook his helm with a sigh, breaking eye contact.
His hand fumbled around the pouches on his belt, eventually digging out a small scrap of paper.
"Here. Say the name on it aloud when we're gone.
Somebody'll pop by to take stock and clean house."

Jahev had already begun moving again, so he followed suit.
It might be imprudent to let him wander, after all...
Turning to respond to Vinan as he started for the door, his pauldrons shifted in a shrug.
"Never said it I knew how they work, or that it makes sense.
You step into my boots, you'd see all sorts of weird crap.
'S a good thing I don't sleep much any more, for that matter.
The nightmares get irritating after a couple decades."

"Wh-what is-" The man began yo say as they left.
They were gone before he finished though.

The second they stepped outside a man stopped them.
He was wearing thin black robes, that had a cape, and hoid.
They were torn in some spots, revealing a second, just as black, layer of clothing underneath.
His face was shrouded by the hood, until he lowered it.
He was a teenager. Not older than 18, but with a look in his eyes that made it seem like he's lived decades.
His eyes were a strange inbetween of blue and green..
And in fact almost seemed to switch between those two colors.
He had black hair that was short, but unkept.

"Hello." He said, almost in a whisper, with a hint of his voice.
Almost as though he was forcing himself to say it.
"My name is Efil Nis. I.. Well, came in from the Tundra, just like you.
And.. I was wondering.." His eyes went from a kind demeanor to a serious, more accusing one.
His voice changed from the weak whisper, to that of a normal person, albeit still quietly.
"Do you have anything to do with this.. Jahev?"
He tossed a paper at Jahev.
Upon unwrinkling it, it was a colorless snapshot of some unidentifiable monster.
It almost seemed to be made of living gore.
"I know your answer's no.
Take a closer look at the parts making up that thing.
Tell me you don't recognize them."

Jahev looked at the paper, looked straight at Efil and told him...
'This is either an undead or something. It has nothing to do with me.'
The temptation to make a remark regarding his parentage was there, but he avoided it. Wasn't worth the hassle.
'Why you searching for it... or him?' he asked with feigned curiosity. Might as well find out to make it more believable.

Fuast tensed as the stranger dropped in front of them.
His movements weren't as difficult to read as his face, being less obscured.
That's it. That's him right there.
That sort of hate is distinct; ya don't just come across two in such a short time; the chances are slim to none.
Efil Nis/Sin Life? Might just as well call yourself Guy Fakename.

He said little, listening and watching.
Their pursuer didn't seem interested in attacking just yet.
Likely, he'd go for his target, only paying minor attention to him or Vinan.
If they got in his way, he'd either attempt to go around or disable them as quick as possible.
Crap. These makeshift maces won't last too long against somebody that knows what they're doing.
And if Jahev was worried...

If this one moved (and the warrior got the feeling he would), the cursed man would be ready to intercept.

(I see you got the name, easily..
If you're curious; originally it was only Nis, but it was hard to think of a second word, and I liked how Efil sounded)

"Do you recognize that?
Looks.. Disgusting.." Vinan said.

Nis discarded his comment.
"That's not undead. Undead still need a functional body.
That thing is not functional. Nor am I looking for it.
You should recognize it, Jahev.
Don't you DARE tell me otherwise!" His voice rose at the end.
With a deep breath he calmed himself.
"You make me sick. The Shadow despises people like you.
Tell me, Jahev. What is that thing?"

'... I have absolutely no idea what that thing is. Unless it's something that actually concerns me, Efil,' Jahev told him in a serious tone, obviously not taking a liking to the situation, 'then I see no reason why I'm being bothered with it.
'Best I can say is something involving Necromancy.'
It was hard to tell what was being hidden by Jahev, if anything. The hood and mask didn't help matter, and his body language was nigh but impossible to read. Unless the person knew what he was looking for, of course.
(WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE.)

Fuast had seen worse, but only for scale.
It wasn't often he came across sights of concentrated violence quite like that.
That Nis had it in his possession helped explain him a bit.
More the sheer hatred than anything else, though.
The armored figure was keeping a careful eye on the younger man.

When he moved, he didn't bother about subtlety or stealth; neither would work on what he suspected were assassins.
Name-dropping the Shadow was a big clue, after all.
An armored mass of metal stepped between Jahev and their pursuer.
His cudgels weren't in hand just yet, but one palm was resting on the 'hilt' of one in its sling.
"You want to calm down, neighbor.
Don't really care about what he's done or what you'd do about it.
This ain't the time nor place.

Gonna ask nice: back off before this gets ugly."
He still took no hostile action, simply waiting and watching.

(nothing, Nis is just being very accusing)
"Why you-" Nis began to say, before Fuast stepped in.
After a deep breat he spoke. "No. It's not.
But that man, right there is a murderer!" He yelled, pointing to Jahev.
"I saw it with my own eyes! He killed him and began picking apart the corpse like it was trash!
I may have killed before, but I do so with respect.
And no one I've killed has gone without a proper burial..

But I saw him tear apart the corpse.
And that thing in that picture, I recognize the gore it's made with.
And the two corpses I see are one and the same.
Whatever that thing is, HE has something to do with it!
And HE has the nerve to tell me he can't even recognize his kill!
He doesn't even know the man's name." Nis lowered his head.
After a few deep breaths he spoke softer.

"I don't know who you are that would protect a man like that..
Or if you even know who he is.
But let me warn you, all of you.
There is a bounty on that man's head.
And not all the people trying to kill him are like me.
I didn't strike because I want answers..
And I am going to get them." He gently pushed Fuast aside with surprising ease.
He stepped close to Jahev, though clearly with no violent intent.
"Why?"
