Getbackers is pretty good, alright. So was Elfen Leid. Haven't seen any of the others, though I did catch an episode of DNAngel on a disc that came with one of my Newtypes. I'll have to look into some of those. Thanks.

You will never see me geek out like I geek out over Stargate. I'm sorta half with you on Star Trek; I like individual characters, but there are too many I absolutely despise for them to cover up. Loved the old movies, though.

RahXephan is another good one... and Ouran High School Host Club... it's been while since i actually watched any anime, that i forgot a few series... i liked Rouroni Kenshin, but i never did get to see the end of it, same with Inuyasha... and of course to go really old school Thundercats and Voltron... i hate the new Voltron and Thundercats series... they're horrible... oh and Zoids, i liked Zoids, the short series, not the long one....

i used to be a huge Stargate geek, but i didn't have anyone to squee with, and then SG1 came to an end and DW started back up, and now i'm a huge geeky fan of New Who....

I've heard of some of those.

Favorite Doctor?

i feel like its not fair of me to pick b/c i've only ever seen New Who.... but that being said Nine will always be my Doctor... i mean i loved Ten to bits and Eleven is just absolutely adorbs, but Nine was my first and every time i watch one of his stories, i can't help but wish he'd been there longer.... i do plan on watching Classic Who, but when i'll get around to it, i have no idea.... too much to do, not enough time to do it all.... if only i had a TARDIS and could slip into the time stream for moments on end whenever i felt like it....

I grew up on the 4th. Tenth has been my favorite so far. The old stuff is okay, but good luck catching up with decades of broadcasting. lol

i once caught up on 5 seasons of House in a little less than two months.... that's an average of 48 mins screen time per episode, with an average of 27 episodes a year..... i actually did 5 seasons of House, 3 seasons of Dexter, all of Life on Mars, s1 of Robin Hood, s1 of Primeval, s3 of New Who, and s1 of Torchwood, all within 5 months.... and it only took me that long b/c i had to stop and go to class in between episodes....

Wow. You really like TV.

I need to catch up on the last two or three seasons of House.

naw...i just go on benders.... i need to clean out my dvr tho.... i've got like two and half seasons of burn notice, a season and half of The Mentalist, the current season of Covert Affairs, 4 eps of Copper, 2 eps of SPN, 5 eps of Hawaii 5-0, s8 of House, a couple eps of Graham Norton, and few movies sitting on there... it's almost full.... and then once it's cleaned out, i'll go on a reading bender, and then by the time i get tired of reading again, my dvr will be almost full again :p

I don't think I've seen a single episode of any of those except House. Not really much of a TV guy, generally speaking. I like my anime, but that's pretty much it.

So what sort of things do you read?

for the most part, i don't expect perfect punctuation or proper capitals, as you can see from my own typing, but do expect proper verb tenses and homonyms being used.... when i used to RP, everything had to be perfect grammar and punctuation or i'd leave the storyline.... a lot of the writers i read just happen to be foreign writers, so english is not their first language.... but they are also strangers and i never feel right correcting strangers..... it always feels rude to do so when they don't ask or leave a carte blanche invitation, so i've gotten into the habit of correcting grammar as i read so that it doesn't drive me crazy.... but every now and then i run into a sentence that just doesn't make sense no matter how i try, and those i'll point out to the writers....

I understand that but for me I don't really like to correct people I know but for strangers, it's open game.
Although, most of the time I just try to ignore it.
I really didn't use proper grammar when I was younger until I joined up with a guild that demanded it or you'd be banned. sweatdrop

yea... like i said, the only time i demand proper grammar is when i'm RPing... it's a leftover from my beginner days... i got introduced to RPing by some hardcore, old fashioned vets.... i don't even do colour when i RP.... as for correcting others' grammar, most of the time i'm reading things on the fly... by various and different authors, and the work has been up for several months, if not years, by the time i find it.... if someone hasn't corrected their grammar by then, i just feel awkward doing it.... chatting on forums, or if a story's only up a few days, not a problem... but deep down, i really am pathetically shy....

No offense but you're difficult for me to understand.
You don't entirely seem very shy online though I can understand elsewhere.
I'm somewhat shy myself or atleast I was but then something in my head just said "******** it" think of me what you will, I'm going to do what I want.
I always felt like everyone was watching me, waiting for me to mess up. I can't say that I care anymore, laugh at me, I'll laugh with you.

I have the same frak all attitude towards life. I am what I am, take it or leave it. But when meeting new people, I just can't seem to make myself actually start a conversation. I'll say hi to be polite and answer any small talk, but actual conversations are beyond me. If you look back, I didn't even start this conversation! I mean there are times when my principles outweigh my shyness and I'll broach a subject, but for the most part I lurk. When I'm in a new forum thread, or there's no one around that I know, I'll say hi to let people know I'm there, but then wait for someone to notice me. The only time I really take initiative with strangers is if they post and say they're new. At which point I'll say hi and welcome, maybe do some small talk, but even then, I rely on them to start an actual conversation. But even if I'm in a thread surrounded by friends, I'm more likely to interject my opinions in someone else's conversation than to start my own.

Frak? You don't curse?
I understand the feeling, for the most part I'm the same way.
I suppose there has to be some line we need to cross in order to meet people like ourselves otherwise it'd never happen.

Oh no, I curse. I curse a lot. Been known to make sailors blush when i really get going. I just tend not to curse around new people until I know how they feel about cursing. That and the other forum site I go to regularly actually has a PG word filter, so I've gotten creative-ish with my cursing

Wait a minute. Are you talking "bald-headed" nazi or "80 year old vet" nazi? Because I'm totally picturing it as the latter in my head.

try not to read them out of order.... otherwise you'll miss stuff... i mean the books can be read as stand alones, but the story works better if you read the book sequentially.... and the writing style changes drastically... i mean the series started out with more of noir feel to it, and now it's more about the romance.... either way you still get the big bad and fight scenes and all that jazz, but the farther you get into the series, the larger the cast of recurring characters and more confusing power dynamics b/t them all
