Since you made the first attempt, what are the age equivalences to appearance (since you said Vert's grandma looks 18 but is 100 something years old).

some people can look young but are old( think of the 900 year old chibiusa from Sailor moon )
and some people look their age.

Some ideas for general spells.
Boilus Waterus= ( a pun on the words boil water) a spell to boil water
Floorus Cleani uppus!=( a pun on the words floor clean up) a spell to clean floors.
Defensif Shyld= a pun on defensive shield= less powerful than device spells but is good for shielding houses/ huts and people.
Screamingu Bureaku!( pun on screaming and break)- can break rocks( make cracks) and breaks windows (( user must scream though))
Appari= like apparation in harry potter, but instead of a loud pop/ crack sound, there is a strange sound like paper is being flipped.
ignitius flamus= pun on ignite flame= to start a fire...- used for minor defense and cooking.

All good, when I read the pun one of boiling water, I thought another good spell name of something could include Fahrenheit or Celsius. xd Just something, you don't have to use them, just in case you run out of ideas.
The one to do with the songs, in particular this one:
A sweet fragrance
A sweet trance
fill this room
remove any gloom!
See now in endless night,
No stars, no moon and no nocturnal sight!
That's a whole poem, right? No spaces there that might have been forgotten?

idea for two creatures:
This creature is a silvery dragon with the hooves of a horse and flaming tail.it has crimson eyes and is called the Silver bloodeye.
This creature is evil and can only be defeated by beheading or a beam of strong, white light. The skin of this creature is normally turned to ash and is used to create dark spells.

This creature looks like a giraffe, is half the size of a giraffe, but it has a pair of wings and a tail like a bird's. It is called the Girabird.
It can scare off the Silver bloodeye with a song and it has the power to shed tears that can heal broken bones.
But it can be killed by morbinnies.( plural form( which i made up) of morbunny)

This creature looks like a cat but it has swan-like wings and it has healing tears.
