The chase is beginning to firm up with us. Here's a breakdown of each of us and what needs to happen:
1. Soultrain - Locked in. The worst I can finish is 3rd in the points, though that would be extraordinary circumstances.
2. nascar900 - Locked in, and only 19 points behind first. Has a shot to take the regular season points title even with not picking the first few races. The worst he can finish is 3rd in the points.
3. Shadow - Locked in. He has a longshot to win the regular season. and the worst he can finish is 4th, though Crossfire would need to make up 47 points on him.
4. Crossfire - Locked in, to at least a wildcard. While he could drop to 6th, he has 2 wins and enough points to keep him from being knocked out. While he could still mathematically catch Shadow for 3rd, it's unlikely. Staying ahead of Melethia for 4th would give him bonus points for the chase.
5. Melethia - On the bubble. She has the wildcard spot for now, 1 win and has a 25 point cushion on 6th. She is only 6 points behind Crossfire for 4th, but too far back to catch Shadow. If she can get past Crossfire, only Dark passing both of them would knock her out.
6. Dark - Out, but still a chance. He could still make it in without a win but would have to pass Melethia and Crossfire to get back up to to 4th, which is a steep 37 point climb. A win would improve his chances, reducing it to a 25 point climb to knock Melethia out of the wildcard.
7. Pearl - Out, but still a chance. She must win and Melethia must stay in 5th to make it in. A second win for her would knock Melethia out of the wildcard spot, but not Crossfire.
8. Chip - Out, but still a chance. Exactly the same as Pearl, must win and Melethia stays in 5th.
9. Systematic, Bolt, OutlawDad and Triple - Out. With no wins and hundreds of points back, there is no way to make it into the chase.
