Alice stood off a ways so the smell of the child's blood wouldn't get to her. She was concerned for the girl's safety from Alice herself. She stood and watched as Jacob's gentle hands placed the headphones on the girl's ears and handled her wound so carefully and gently. She smiled at his extraordinary gift. Jacob had a true gift of healing and kindness. The world had undergone a big change and after that war and hate had taken most of the people. Acts like this were rare and Alice knew that. She smiled as the little girl ran off to play again. She had forgotten all about the scent and hunger the blood gave her. Alice watched as Jake approached her. "You know how to handle them very well." she said quietly. "It was nice of you..." Alice hesitated and bit her lip. She didn't know what else to say. Jake's actions were quite kind, gentle and caring. She hoped she would have those gentle hands to caress her one day. "Is this what you do everyday?" she asked.

Jacob scratched his head and smiled "sometimes" he laughed "it depends what happens, sometimes I fix broken toys, sometimes i break up fights, sometimes i end up reading the bedtime story" he laughed "each day is different" he laughed again, his laugh itself was light hearted and childish "i suppose that's why I enjoy it so much here" he said quietly as he nervously fiddled with the headphone cable "shall we go back to my room before we leave" he said trying to shift the conversation away from his nerves

Alice laughed quietly. "Life here sounds so much fun. Every day must be an adventure." Alice looked down and played with the edge of her sleeve. She nodded. "Lets go back upstairs." she said softly. She looked up at him and smiled.

Jacob led Alice back towards his room "lot's of people take pity on me when they find out I live here" he said with a smirk "but they shouldn't" he grinned with a small laugh "they should be jealous, i have a massive family" he laughed as he scratched the back of his head As they rounded the corner they almost bumped into a middle aged woman carrying a block of papers "oh Jacob there you are, I was wondering if you" she paused as she saw Alice "never mind Jacob" she smirked "i'll let you and your...friend... get back to your room" she smiled as she continued round the corner, Jacob stood there dumbstruck, he was bright red and had a look of horrified embarrassing on his face, he must have looked pretty amusing "i'm so sorry about that" he groaned clapping his hand to his face "she's like that" he added as he continued walking towards his room

Alice nodded and walked beside Jacob. "Having a big family is nice." she said. "You take care of the little ones while, one day, they will take care of you to repay the favor." She smiled. "It's nice." When they bumped into a woman carrying papers, Alice stared blankly at the girl. Her forehead wrinkled in thought. "Um..." She looked at Jacob. "Who was that?" Alice looked at Jake's face. He was slightly red at the cheeks. She giggled softly. "What's wrong? Was that a sister of yours?"

Jacob shook his head "more like an embarrassing mum" he said with a small laugh "that was Stephanie" he said as he turned an even brighter red at Alice's laugh "she runs the place, most of the children just call her Mum" he said as he opened her door and held it open for her "after you" he said politely as he tried to hide his reddened face

Alice giggled. "She must be a very caring mother to you guys." She nodded and entered the room. Alice turned around and looked at Jacob as he too entered. She noticed him hiding his face. She stepped toward him and gently placed her hand underneath his chin and brought it toward her. Alice smiled. "Why are you hiding?" she asked softly. "I think your blush makes you quite handsome."

Jacob froze as she brought him towards her, her compliment seemed to wash over him, nobody had ever complimented him and meant it, he swallowed and tried to force out a few words "I..I..I" he shut his mouth, his nerves were pulsing out of him

Alice smiled. Being this close to him, she could feel the beating of his heart and the warm scent of his blood. Her mouth started to part, leaning closer to him. She quickly shut her mouth and let him go from her hand. Alice stepped away and tucked her hair behind her ear. "I'm sorry." she said quietly. She looked down at the floor and held her hand together, binding them from further destruction she might cause. "I'm sorry."

Jacob's heart fluttered as she drew close to him, she parted her lips as leaned towards her, suddenly she was gone "wait what" Jacob said in confusion "hey whats wrong" he said with concern as he drew close again, he placed his hand on her shoulder "do you have a boyfriend or something" he asked fearingly

Alice looked up at Jacob as he approached her. "N-nothing's wrong." she said quickly. Her breathing hitched. "Nothing's wrong." she said more quietly. Alice tensed underneath Jake's hand on her shoulders. She shook her head. "No, I don't have a boyfriend." She looked up at Jake and got lost in his eyes. She wanted to tell him...but she couldn't. Consequences were always at hand.

Jacob mistook her fear for nerves "it's alright" he said with a small smile "i get nervous too" he swallowed as he placed his other hand on the side of her face "looks like we're both nervous together then" he said huskily

Alice smiled back. Jacob's dazzling smile with his kind eyes made her want to melt and forget the memories of reality. She nodded slightly. "Okay." Her voice was soft. She reached up and touched his hand that was on the side of her face. She closed her eyes and leaned into his warm touch.

JAcob swallowed, he was running out of words to say "maybe....I...ermm..well" he closed his eyes and pushed his head forewards planting a small kiss on her lips, he went bright pink as he pulled away "sorry" he muttered

Alice stiffened as Jacob's lips brushed against her. When he pulled back, she looked at him surprised. She touched her lips with her hands. Heat flowed to her cheeks. The warm feeling that had once been forgotten, made her feel happy. She smiled softly and walked toward Jacob. She gently placed her head against his chest. "Don't be sorry." she said quietly.
