Ako Komura Just outside of Cerulean City, Gary snuck up on me. I wasn't expecting him to be there so most of my Pokemon were at lower levels than his. Still, I managed to beat him without any deaths. He sneaked up on me when I reached Cerulean City, too. I had to reset, though, because he knocked out half of my team and was probably going to kill the rest of them, too. stare Look out for him in Pokémon Tower when you get to Lavender Town! He'll probably be there, too!

Second Snorlax was a pain to catch. stressed I had to reset five times because he kept breaking out of the Great Ball and then fainting because of poison/Leech Seed/Curse. Ahriman ended up being the most helpful (and the ultimately successful one) for capturing him; Curse would leave him with exactly 1 HP after four turns, and I made sure I kept him asleep with Hypnosis. Then I just had to capture him before Curse made him faint...
It took me forever to come up with a good nickname for this Snorlax. I ended up naming him Gulliver because I thought it matched my theme with Tommolise. I'll probably end up using Gulliver over Tommolise because he has the better nature.
Got my Scyther from the Game Corner. =D I named her Viridis. Can't wait to start battling with her. heart But as a result, Spiz is going to be boxed until further notice, since Viridis can learn Cut in his stead.
Now to move on... ninja

Sounds like you're getting a good team going. biggrin As for me, I boxed Leto because she's not going to be superuseful in the upcoming gym. I'm a bit annoyed because I don't like Quagsire that much but she's so bloody useful in battles that it would be a shame to take her away, even after this electric gym battle. But I need my Girafarig for the strong psychic moves against those stupid Goldbats. Gah I hate it when it's a battle for most usefulness. I'm very worried when I will have to face Cynthia (if... still grinding! D=). Her Pokemon are high-levelled plus probably superfast.

Yilanti Midnight Gah I hate it when it's a battle for most usefulness. IKR? D: I hate it, too. But it's really a good way to make a team. And I would rather box a pokémon than have it die because of my hardheadedness. cry Vadim, Aphrodite, and Dracula are going to have to fight it out for a spot on my team pretty soon. @_@ I have to start getting rid of my Ice and Psychic weaknesses. In other news, Aphrodite evolved. cool heart I'm smashing the floors of Silph Co. at the moment. The Rocket Grunts have taken it over.

I tried doing a Nuzlocke challenge twice, once on Red and once on Leaf Green,
but gave up both times. I do like watching other people do it, though!

I wish Vadim knew a Ground type move so much...but what do TMs have to offer? Mud-Slap? Oh wait, Mud-Slap isn't a TM in Gen III. Dig? Earthquake? I don't think I've even found Dig, and there's no way I've found Earthquake... At least he'll learn Megahorn in about ten levels... He might be there by the time I get to Sabrina -- I don't know. I think I fail at it just because I keep reseting and breaking the unspoken rule with my cries of "Bologna!" when one (or half) of my pokémon faint because of something stupid. Like dying of poisoning after I took five wrong turns trying to find the exit in the Rocket Hideout, and I was only five steps away from the Pokémon Center when my pokémon died. That so does not count. >o>

Every time I level up Dracula, it says he is evolving. And then it just stops and says, "...?" when I haven't pressed any buttons at all. I tried leveling him up using a Rare Candy, and it does the same thing. What the heck?

Researched the problem and found out a bunch of things I didn't know. emo Apparently Golbat won't evolve into Crobat in FR/LG until I've received the National Pokédex from Prof. Oak, which I won't get until after I beat the Elite 4. Worse yet, it is impossible to trade with R/S/E until I get the Ruby Gem and Sapphire Gem, which I can't get until after I beat the Elite 4. And in lieu of such information, I can now forget evolving Viridis or my future Seadra (which I will capture as a Horsea) or even getting a Houndour...until I beat the Elite 4.
Seriously?
THIS IS THE CRUELEST THING YOU COULD EVER DO, GAMEFREAK! crying

Currently all my Pokemon are level 50. When I'm done with my chores today I will defeat the last gym before the E4. 8D

Yeah, it is pretty bad. crying I will manage somehow, though, I guess.
It is taking awhile to go through all the floors of Silph Co. There are eleven floors, each with two-four grunts/scientists on them. I went through all the grunts that I could reach using the stairs, but I wasn't able to reach the boss that way, so I'm having to go back and use the warp pads. neutral
In other news, I started another Nuzlocke on Pokémon Crystal! :'D I'll post updates on it later. Since I started it late last night while I had no Internet, my nicknames are kind of meh, and I think I'll change them when I get to Goldenrod City. But so far my pokémon are...

And I have 0 badges. xd I've always hated areas with warp pads. There's one in Diamond too and it drove me mad. Had to find an online guide to get through it. And yay! Cyndaquil is soooo cute! <3 He was my choice in HeartGold too (though I'm not Nuzlocking that). I did receive Pokemon Emerald from my cousin yesterday. I haven't started it yet because I was busy with Diamond but I think when I get sick with grinding for the E4 I might start it. I'm definitely getting a Torchick (I adore Blaziken) but I need a name for my trainer. I wanted another fruit name like what I have now in Diamond (Pomelo is a type of grapefruit), but without sounding too much like a fruit (so no banana, apple, orange, etc).

So I decided to begin Emerald for the hell of it. I already had an idea of a story that would go on into another Nuzlocke game, but I won't spoil for the sake of the comic (which I will update, promised).
I'm called Cherimoya (which is a type of star apple) and my first Pokemon is a Torchick who I named Callisto (like Pomelo has her Pokemon named after Gods, Cherimoya has hers named after the moons of the planets in our solar system).
Couldn't catch anything on route 101 because of no balls (damn you game). Also technically can't catch anything on 103 now but because I don't think that's fair, I'll make a rule that I will only lose my first Pokemon catch on the first route I have to pass (in Diamond it was only one route so why not here?).
On route 102 I caught a Wurmple I named Phoebe. On route 103 a Poochyena named Pandora. I really wanted a Lotad though, dangit. xD

I picked Torchic for my starter in Emerald, too! Although honestly, he was my second choice on my second run, because I wanted Treecko, but I couldn't have a Breloom and a Sceptile on my team without having a bunch of Ice weaknesses... And now my Combusken is sadly in my box...even though I only boxed him because I'm EV training all of my pokémon in Emerald, and it had been too hard to EV train him early on because almost nothing yielded Sp. Atk EVs...now I'm just neglecting him. :/ *is a bad trainer* >_>
Cyndaquil is probably my second choice in the Johto region, too. I chose Totodile in Silver and HeartGold. I think Cyndaquil is kind of the easy choice; he is super-effective against three of the eight Johto region gyms. XD I thought he would be great for Nuzlocking, though, and I can still see my rival's Totodile.
Bulbasaur is my first pick for the Kanto region, though. <3
And if I had to say, Emerald is most likely my second favorite Pokémon game, behind HeartGold/SoulSilver. I put over fifty hours on it within the first few weeks I had it, and probably would have put more on it if I hadn't discovered the cartridge I had gotten was bootlegged. @ __ @ I love the Hoenn region. <3
But how did you name your character Cherimoya? I thought you only got seven characters to name your character. Cherimoya has nine. lol
I got my first badge in Crystal yesterday. I will make a journal page like my FireRed one when I get to Goldenrod.
Still warping around in FireRed. :/
