The dark haired woman found herself laughing softly to herself. The situation they'd now found themselves in was strange to anyone looking from the outside in, but things were just where this odd doctor wanted them. She was tricky, yes. But, from the way this kid spoke, he was pretty tricky himself.

Her hand lowered slightly, and she took a step closer to him again, "Oh, but why not? You don't have anything to hide under there, right? Besides, you've got that hoodie on. The light won't catch in your eyes, I assure you. Just give me one little peek at them," She coaxed him on. This boy was smart, and she could tell that now. But, her instinct was telling her he was lying. Something was off, she just couldn't tell what it was yet.

If only I had taken the time to buy colored contacts, he thought quickly, as he searched for an answer to this riddle... But he had an idea. As half-wit and crazy as it was, most of his ideas were like that... Perhaps this one would pull through for him. He closed his eyes tight for a moment, attempting to focus... And opened them, channeling whatever electricity he could through them. It was hard, considering he rarely used his eyes for channeling electricity, made only harder by the fact that it was hard to keep the energy flowing circular... It seemed to want to discharge into the doctor and the other man. But, with all that energy flowing through, his eyes should have appeared bright, glowing. Shiny. Unnatural... Enough for him to take the glasses off. "There. Happy?" he asked, frowning. He wasn't sure how long he could keep this up.

The doctor stared at the boy's eyes with a questioning look on her face. The glow of his eyes truly would explain his power, but how could such a thing be true? Was there really a possibility that this other family had taken this boy in for testing? And without ever holding a meeting to discuss such actions with the other families? The idea was utterly foolish, and very difficult to believe. But, what else could she go on now. This boy seemed very smart, and even if he had been lying the whole time, what could she have called him out on now?

Her hand retracted, and she huffed a defeated sigh, "Alright, boy. I suppose your case holds up," She said as she placed her hands into her jacket pockets. She nodded to him, and readied herself to turn and leave, "I'm sorry for being so suspecting of you. Please forgive my rudeness," She said with a bow of her head.

She turned and began to walk in the opposite direction. Her mind was still running with thoughts. What would she say to the head of her family? Would she tell the sick and dying man that the other families were doing such experiments? Would she have the heart to tell him that in his last days of life? To have to go through such an ordeal, and especially now that his son was up and missing.

She stopped, her tennis shoes skidding on the asphalt of the alleyway. Her eyes were wide, but her body was completely stiff. How could she have not noticed? How could she have forgotten such important factors?

"Boy... Liam," She started, her voice calm, but her back still facing him, "I have a patient. A patient of a family that I work for. I know his entire medical history. I know everything about this boy," She said as she turned on her heel to face him one again.

"The doctors before me often had me stay in the room when routine check ups were given, and so I even knew him when he was young. I know he was never, not once, given a vaccination. He never liked needles. In fact, they were particularly careful with metal around him. Whenever he threw a fit, there seemed to be some strange energy coursing through him..." She said as she continued to stare at him. This theory was completely far-fetched, but she had to try it, or else she couldn't leave him here.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a fancy little ink pen. She unclicked it, so that the point was retracted inside of the metal outside. She watched with unblinking intensity as she then tossed the pen at him, it flying almost in slow motion toward the boy. If her theory was correct, the reaction given off would be more than enough to convince her.

"s**t." The pen, although he tried to dodge it, smacked him in the shoulder. On contact, the pen shot away from him like a rocket, a streak of blue lightning seemingly propelling it. Once the pen got about ten feet in the air, it popped open and sparkled, like a fireworks show. The ink even caught on fire, completing the minuscule image.

Well, after that display, it was now or never. While they were distracted with the pen scenario, Josh jumped onto a dumpster, and made a leap for the gutter on the side of the nearest building, praying all that electromagnetic bullshit he had learned was true. He reached out for the metal gutter... And stuck. Barely. He was hanging on with a few fingers, and was only about five or six feet off the ground. He reached up to grab hold of the gutter, and began very unsteadily climbing the building. He felt like ******** Spider-man.

Jake suspected something like this would happen. He quickly tossed his case off and, with sword in tow, He chased after the kid. He jumped on a dumpster and climed a fire escape above it. When he reached at the top the kid had started to crawl on the gutter. Jake threw his sword a foot away ahead of the kid in the gutter. Jake then jumped off the railing grabbed his sword. It budged a little, but held. Jake tried then to kick the kid down. Hopefully the kid would not be able to hold, block his kick already on its way to hit the kid, and use his powers.

Well, the plan the dude had was a solid one, aside from one small detail. The sword was metal, as was the gutter. And considering how electrified Josh was, the man had just landed on the equivalent of a windmill generator. In fact, the man probably would be dead, if it weren't for his rubber soles on his shoes... Which make Josh's part easy. He took the hit, but let go with one hand and grabbed the man's shoe, yanking it off. When the man tried to re-balance, unless his socks were rubber as well, he would either A: shoot off of the sword in a similar fashion as the pen did moments ago, or B: be stunned, possibly have a seizure, and very likely fall off. Giving Josh ample time to escape, mostly scott-free. Sure, he'd probably have a black eye. But it was better than nothing. He'd just have to ditch the clothes and get a newer look. Stuff like a haircut, a piercing, a tattoo, colored contacts... But right now, he needed to focus. Because if the man shot off like a rocket, it was possible he would die. Which was bad. And, of course, he needed to remember the Doctor, who had those freaking bullet fingers... Although, he didn't think he'd have to worry about her killing him, though. After all, she worked for his dad. If he died, she died.

Nothing happened to Sam except he lost his shoe. He smiled and started to explain. "Sorry kid, your electricity will not transfer from my sword to me. My handle is comepletly made of rubber. Including the threads that enhance my grip." continued to hang there. "The scietist that did my DNA knew of my job, so they created a sword that I can use to protect others, and at the same time protect myself" he stated as he hung there. But he talked to long. The sword came loose ande he fell down onto a dumbster and he bounced off of it and then the ground. He froze still as his back was full of pain. Ugh too confident.. he thought there as he winced in pain.

"Well, that's another way to take care of it," Josh muttered, as he began climbing up the gutter again. While it was slow work, he was already a good thirty or so feet off the ground. There wasn't much they could do about it now, besides watch. Maybe Doctor Adrian would call someone... But when his dad got wind of him escaping, again, Josh didn't think he'd be too pleased. And considering the old man's condition, who knew what that'd mean? But Josh didn't care. The man had never been a father... He'd been the warden of Josh's home imprisonment.

Adrian watched the on going pursuit from the ground below. She had no amazing scaling powers, and she wasn't amazingly fast. She had a normal body, a rather weak one at that. Beneath her boyish clothes was a regular, healthy female body, but not an athletic one. She could do nothing but stand guard at the floor of the alley and watch.

Just when she'd thought Sam may have been able to subdue the young teen, she watched in horror as he lost his footing and plummeted from the very top of the building down into the lid of the dumpster. His body smashed against it, and he rolled off onto the hard asphalt. As he lie there looking badly injured, a million thoughts ran through her head. Did he break his neck? No... he's still breathing. Perhaps he has broken his spine and he's paralyzed. What if his skull is fractured? I need to get him to my hospital room!

She was shaken from her thoughts of saving the man when an all too familiar idea came to mind. Josh. She had to get him home. He was the son of the head of her family, and surely if she allowed him to get away, she would pay dearly. Sam was from a different family. Though he was an acquaintance of hers, she had to think of the future of her family before his. It was a harsh realization, but one she knew was undeniable.

"Josh!" She shouted to the roof top as he tried to climb up the rain gutter and onto the roof of the building, "You can come down of your own will, or I can force you down!" She warned him. She left no time for him to decide, seeing as how she knew he wouldn't listen either way.

She grabbed a pebble from her collection in her pocket, and rose her hand in front of her. She placed the pebble in her palm, and readied her attack. She aimed, her breathing ceasing as she did so to halt firing error. She then flicked the pebble up toward the boy, and it just narrowing passed by him. She felt herself panic, but when she saw the stone smash into the gutter, she let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm sure your father would rather you home and injured instead of gone forever, Josh! Besides, I'm your doctor, right? If I make the wound, I know full well how to fix it!"

"Well, I'd rather be free and dead than alive and not allowed to live!" Josh called back, continuing his climb. He had flinched when the stone hit the gutter; that was bad. She was firing on him. He quickly climbed another few feet, hoping she'd stop. The gutter couldn't take that many hits, it already appeared to be on its last legs. Although, Josh knew he could take even less hits... So he climbed on, praying he got to the top before she was able to bring him, or the whole gutter, down.

The boy's words rang through her head as he spoke. Her thoughts began once again wracking her mind. How could this boy complain about his life? He got everything he'd ever wanted. He just had to look at something, and his father would buy it for him. He was spoiled, and perhaps this was his way of throwing a tantrum. But, for some reason, the way he spoke sounded genuine.

"Josh, please get down here! I don't want to hurt you!" She shouted to him, taking her aim once again. If he wasn't going to cooperate, she was just going to have to risk hurting the boy. Of course, she wouldn't let him fall to his death if he did end up tumbling down from up that high.

The words he had spoken continued to ring in her mind, and she found herself almost touched by the thought. Here she was, in a similar position as this boy claimed to be. She had been forced by her 'loving' adoptive parents to live the life of a boy. As a child, dolls and dresses were never something she had the chance to be a part of. Being who she wanted to be, the thought was always far out of her reach. And this boy, the son of the head of her family, he was claiming to be locked up in some sort of hell himself. The doctor, as it was in her 'care giving' nature, wanted to relate to this boy somehow. Perhaps that would assist his decision in coming back to the house.

"Boy, listen to me!" She demanded, her aim still ready, "I understand exactly how you feel! Trust me! I can't explain it now, but you've just got to believe me. If you just come down here, you can talk to me about it! I'm your doctor, you can trust me!" She explained. Thought she had made the offer, she knew just how stubborn this particular teenager was. He was always full of attitude. Perhaps those were warning signs of something like this happening?

"Yeah, right. You understand, you've been a prisoner your entire life!" Josh called sarcastically, reaching up for one last pull up. He was so close now, the top of the building was only a foot away. But thanks to the lack of attention from the home owners, he had run out of gutter... He frowned. He wasn't going to be stopped that easy. He held on to the gutter with one hand, trying to reach up to the top. With only one hand, the magnetic flow was considerably weaker, and he slipped down another foot or so. Not helping. He quickly grabbed the gutter tight, determined to somehow get out of this.

The doctor let out a deep sigh as she watched him from the ground. As she had thought, this boy was being just as stubborn as ever. The fact that he hadn't even considered her words made her angry, but she knew she still had to plan her next moves carefully. She had to get him down from there and apprehend him, but how she was going to do it was the question. She wanted the least injury she could possibly cause, and that was difficult to think up in the few seconds she had been given to react. He was desperate to get away, and she had to act fast.

After running all of her options in her head, she finally settled on her safest bet. If this didn't work, she'd have to leave the boy be and call for backup. The family could set up a group and go after him. But for now, she was sticking with the idea that this would actually pull through.

She aimed the pebble as it lay in her hand, and readied her other hand to project it when the time was ready. As the boy finally reached up and settled both of his hands, she flicked the stone and it went soaring through the air making a zipping noise. It finally made contact with the gutter, smashing part of it violently. Perhaps the initial shock wave would cause the gutter to vibrate just enough to shake the boy off of it. If not, she was ready to fire again.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 11, 2010 12:01 pm

"s**t." The gutter shook, but not enough to shake off Josh. Unfortunately, it DID shake enough to knock off the top bolts off... Sending the entire gutter groundward. "s**t!" He held on, standing up on the gutter as it fell and ran towards the building. In the direction that the gutter was falling, in the hopes of delaying his crash a bit. It didn't work, as he slammed into a garbage can with a sickening crack. He laid there, trying to keep himself from screaming; He thought his leg was broken. It hurt enough to be, he had fallen almost fifty feet.

Seeing the boy plummeting from so far up was enough to make the doctor's stomach turn. Here she was, someone who was suppose to help people, and she had forced this young, growing boy to fall from so high up. And not only that, but the sound his body made when he reached the bottom. It was a sickening cracking sound.

She left no time to sulk over her actions, and quickly made her way over to both the boy and the blonde from earlier. She knelt down beside them on the dark pavement, and looked down. Her eyes shifted from one of them to the other, and she placed a hand on both of their shoulders.

"I'm terribly sorry!" She said in a panicking tone, "Please forgive me for my actions, but I will see to it that both of you are treated with the best care my hospital can provide for you," She assured then as she reached for her phone in her pocket. She quickly flipped it open and dialed.

"Hello? Yes, I've apprehended Jake WebWood, but he appears to have been injured in the process. And I also have another man here who helped stop the boy from escaping, he also seems injured. I need transportation for the both of them ASAP," She demanded, flipping the phone shut afterward.

She turned back to the two of them, her brow knit with concern, "Are you-- Wait... that's a stupid question. Where are you injured?" She asked the two of them.
