Hobble hobble! Omai! Aster wobbled a bit, even with Yossarian's support when she was put upright, but at least she -could- walk on her own, hobbling all the way to the washroom, pausing to stare at the wash tub with a light frown. That was...
a really big tub. Srsly, what were they trying to fit in there? Two of Caprician?????
Oh god.
Oh god she didn't even want to think about that... WRYYYYYYY!!!!! However, now there was the task of how everything was going to work out overall. HmmMmmm... how -did- one keep themselves from drowning in a giant washtub from hell? It didn't exactly seem like it was going to be something that was convenient, but she'd rather be clean an achey than smelly and achey and covered in sand.
BooOOoooo!
"This is going to be fun.." she said flatly, obviously NOT enthusiastic about the entire process now that she realized that she PROBABLY wasn't going to be left to her own bathing devices.. alas, it was a sacrifice that had to be made!
Ha ha ha....
Jade was just as amused (though his amusement was a lot more genuine than that of the baffled Asteria, alas) at the whole shebang going on, musing to himself as he rifled through his bag for a few..unusual looking vials, dumping a little bit of both of the ones he produced into the brew (without an explanation), before throwing in a few spices (as there had to be spices in a place that was all about preservation of mealstuff) into it as well.
Stir stir stir...
Ta da! It was now deliiiicious! or at least spiked with SOMETHING or other.
"Just a few things to help our invalids perk up a little, eh?"
... .....
SUSPICIOUS!

Every step he took felt like another step closer to yet more suffering, and sure enough, those very instincts would soon prove true as he grimly surveyed their facilities... and then the sagging figure of who he'd be 'working' with in it all. No, Yossarian most definitely didn't trust the woman all by her lonesome in there... not to bathe herself or even just stay upright.
"... To say the least," he said just as flatly in turn, taking a moment to decide his next course of action, and then... "I'll... draw the water."
Aw, how very kind of him! Though of course, he had to make sure she was at a place where she could remain stable (be it perched on the toilet seat, leaned against the wall, sitting, WHATEVER) before letting go of Aster and leaving her to... well, he hoped she'd get the clue to undress while he forced down the water pump to get the washtub filled with (thankfully warm at least) water.
It wasn't like he hadn't seen her bare before, anyway, and quite frankly, he was too exhausted (and unfocussed) to even care. Maybe he'd even make use of the whole affair and scrub himself off a bit, too? There was a lot of sand and sweat in his fur, after all. He was just as dirty as she was, sans the burnage.
But uh... yes, enough of that-- and back to the more devious (and immediate) trouble brewing, instead!
Because dear blithe Takeshi just happily watched as his creation suddenly became a hellbrew of God Only Knew WHAT strange tonics, tail wagging and brows arched with cheerful curiosity the whole while. Perking up the invalids, was it?
"Ah, I really hope it helps 'em out," he agreed (just as innocently), leaning over to give the pot another sniff once it had been doctored more properly. "Smells good, at least!" Yeah, and surely it was full of some terrifying poison despite that! But the scent was starting to seep through the building in a vaguely pleasant manner, at the very least, to lull its occupants into a false sense of security...
"It's about ready now, right?" he asked aloud, already rifling through cabinets ever so fervently to find bowls of some kind. There were enough, albeit old and mismatched, in some kind of glazed, dull ceramic. "... Should I go give it out, since.... you know, everyone else is stuck in bed and stuff?"
That was a sad, but valid point. Kanda was in bed with Shae. Shae was in bed in a partial coma. Hanna was at least on bed trying to quell her skin and lungs. Squalo was under the covers lamenting that he couldn't get out from under them... and well, even Aster and Yossarian would no doubt be limping back to theirs once they were out from that tub fiasco, right?

As much as Asteria DIDN'T LIKE the idea of stripping with him in the room to begin with, she knew that it was futile to whine at him to LEAVE. Why? Because he wouldn't, and if she didn't just work on getting ready to throw herself into a tub, he'd damn well make her ready for it himself.. which somehow was infinitely less horrifying, but still went to the same end she was trying to fight off at the given moment.
Which probably was the ultimate reason WHY she had allowed herself to be, what was in her mind, SCANDALOUS and work on stripping while he was there. i-It wasn't like he was trying to get a free show or anything!
Right?
(RIGHT?????)
Either way, there was something really uncomfortable about being naked in a room and just SITTING THERE in the meantime.
8C
Ha ha ha! It did indeed smell rather good, didn't it? However, it seemed Jade wanted to at least take a spoonfull of the stuff to taste himself, 'Hmmmm'ing with some consideration, before throwing in a little bit more of a spice. What, was he out to get the sensitive stomachs? (It actually wasn't a lot of spice considering how much damn FOOD there was there).
"Give it about... 10 more minutes, just to simmer and get softer than it already is.
Crunch is only good when there's energy to spare to fight with it on the eating end of things.."
Squalo sneezed. HEY, HE HAD ENERGY, DAMMIT! >8C

Hey, hey, it wasn't like Yossarian enjoyed this sort of thing either! He was just tired, and trying to be as realistic as possible in what they went about doing. Aster was incapable of handling herself; therefore, he would help her get the job done. It was a simple idea, and that was literally about all the thought he'd put into it, testing the water temperature with a hand before he stopped filling it, but remaining crouched there beside the washtub.
What was the point of standing again? Nothing. Nope, he'd just stay there, sitting on his rear instead, and gestured lamely with a hand for her to come over-- without turning back to look in her direction.
"... It's ready."
See? He was a good guy, and not even going to bother with the whole peeking thing if she was still gun shy! He just... felt a need to be there and ensure she didn't drop dead or drown, that was all. And maybe he'd even wash her back for her if she asked.
Which meant that, really, it was just a waiting game now until she was finished, and dinner (or whatever meal it happened to be) was done. In the meanwhile, Takeshi could at last keep himself occupied with counting bowls, and looming over that pot with definite interest (just what HAD Jade thrown in there?), nodding ever so enthusiastically like a good little souschef.
"Right, right." Softer was good! That meant less chewing, so he was totally logical to him! And hey, if the man himself had already tasted it and was fine, then the whole pot had to be good!
"... Let me take a taste too." But now he just HAD to try it anyway, digging out a spoon and stealing a sip (him? affected? HA) and, once again, nodding. "Yeah, I see what you mean. I'm sure the other guys can wait that long..."
It seemed like an appropriate time for some Jeopardy music, seriously.
Now, whenever the bathing buddies were finished, the meal could get itself passed out!

Well yes, it was reasonable, and when she was prompted, Aster -did- manage to get herself in the tub without disaster or assistance, settling into the water (which thankfully was warm enough to not prompted shivering). However, she was at least compliant enough to bathe herself as well.
Although..
OW OW OW at rubbing her poor crispy flesh! It wasn't exactly an ENJOYABLE task, to say the least, but she could always enjoy the 'not covered in gunk' sensation even if she was rubbing her scalp (which was fortunately not crispy, as her dark hair had protected it well) to free herself of built up dander.
Overall, her bath was rather enjoyable (give or take that she DID eventually ask for help with her back, despite the 'O GOD HE'LL SEE MAH NEKKIDS..AGAIN'), though the real task was drying herself off.....
Which of course, once she'd finished cleaning herself off, she'd looking to Yossarian with a sort of
'HALPPLZ'
look on her face.
Oh god.
That look.
Kanda's stomach was protesting the smell wafting through the place, pondering if it would attract Xerics in the same way it would have Kanus...somehow, he didn't think so. Yet at the same time, he could definitely feel impending 'SICK FEELING' coming on.
Sick feeling was not a good feeling, unfortunately.
Jade, on the other hand, was definitely amused that Takeshi had to have tried it.
Oh god.
What had he put into it? Something that was definitely going to serve him some amusement. HMMMM....
"Well, whoever is cleaning up.." PSYCHIC POWERS?? "Should hopefully finish up soon enough.."

Even though Yossarian had seen everything already (the mystery was long gone), he made a point to avoid any purposeful looking-- if only for the sake of whatever body shy tendencies she still clung to, deep down. For the most part, he just sort of sat there as a monitor by the side of the washtub, absently scrubbing with a washcloth at his own fur to get some sand dislodged before the inevitable pleading look came.
Sigh.
He'd scrubbed her back down wearily and, when the time came to get out, he'd already figured she probably couldn't haul her own a**, already having dug out a towel (which was the size of a small BLANKET for the record; everything was bigger in Xericland!) to drop over her, grabbing the woman's arm to assist in the whole... y'know, getting up thing while she wrapped it around herself.
It was just clever enough of a setup to let her get decent before they limped back to their room, which he, of course, assisted with as best he could... though once they got to the bed and he'd dragged over her bag to set at the bedside, he slouched over and actually groaned somewhat audibly, suddenly looking very ready to topple over.
... What, had he finally overdone it?
(For the record, that smell wasn't helping... whatever it happened to be. He didn't want food.)
But hey! Their coming out was just in time for the meal anyway! Whatever Jade had spiked the soup with, it didn't seem to slow down Takeshi, who, following a little self-distraction of finding and butchering some bread to go with it (they could eat around the hard crusts or soak it), was just jonesing terribly to ladle up bowlfuls and get a move-on delivering it to the sickies-- or rather, one sickie in particular first, calling out in his cheer.
"Hey, Squalo!" Thankfully it wasn't the loudest call ever, but it did announce his entrance before he shoved the door open, "I brought you something!" He seemed as proud as a cat who'd brought a mouse carcass home to set on the front porch for its masters to find, trotting over, and offering it to the poor soul who'd probably be victim number 1.
"... It's soup," he stated, like it WASN'T so obvious already. "And uh... some bread I found in the back of the pantry-- but it's still plenty good! The crust's just a little hard..."
Somehow, it seemed like getting the flock to eat would be about as easy as pulling teeth in certain cases, as even Shae, thoroughly unconscious, groaned and turned her head to one side, as if trying to bury her face in the pillow and get away from that scent in the air.
Hanna could smell it too, stomach giving a very displeased lurch that she had to forcefully choke down in the silence of her room. She, of course, knew better than her body did when it came to sustenance-- but that wouldn't make the brave faces and feigned pleasantry any easier.
... Perhaps she'd just sit out wandering into the public area to see what was going on in there. It seemed like a waste of energy at that point.

Well, she could appreciate super-towels (Yossarian would have only needed two of 'em!), doing her best to dry herself off with a sort of quickness, before dressing herself again. Mmmm ,clean kitten, clean clothing~~!
And bed.
Oh joyous bed.
Aster was more than happy to crash on it once again when they'd hit it, purring and curling up into a happy little ball. Oh baby, oh baby, oh baby!! Right then, there was nothing her entire body wanted more than to fall asleep with some semblance of UTTER JOY. MmmMMmmm~!
However, Yossarian's lack of fervor did cause her to sit up to lean her head against his back. Not to purr purr purr, just... rubbing a hand against his shoulders. Rub rub rub. Trying to make his poor achey body feel better? WELL, IT WAS BETTER THAN A ROLL IN THE HAY, PERHAPS.
Unless he needed one to burn off all his stress from being with a dumbie mcDumbface.
Unfortunately for SHAE, however, Kanda took to fetching a clean (Relatively) pair of clothing from her bag before he pulled her out of bed to carry her, like the delicate little princess she was, to go clean her up as well, passing Takeshi in the hallway as he carried food to go dote on PRINCESS SQUALO, and grimacing.
Well, time for cleanup of the Crispy one.
Though Squalo was frowning at the fooding that was brought to him, leering at it suspiciously, before sitting up.
His stomach didn't like the idea of it, but the idea of a funnel in his mouth with food being shoved in through it was even LESS appealing to Squalo, who took the bowl with a sort of hesitance before he took his first bite.
Nom nom..
Hmm. it didn't taste -too- bad..
Though Hanna would get to judge for herself, as Jade soon came to bring HER something to eat as well. OMAI, WHAT A GENTLEMAN! biggrin

... But what was this, now? Was she trying to comfort him again in his pathetic moment of weakness? Yossarian wasn't quite sure what to think of that, unfortunately. The kindness was nice enough, but wasn't that all just validating his own pathetic state, or something?
And he hated himself to admit that it was, in fact, vaguely soothing, just sort of lingering in that same position awkwardly and 'allowing' her to continue doing it. Rubbing was nice for muscles that felt ready to tear apart with any more tension, and he hated admitting to it, too.
Too bad he wouldn't get to enjoy the silence and privacy of just them much longer though, as a certain Kanus felt it his right, nay, duty even, to interrupt in short order.
Takeshi had hung around until he saw Squalo take that first doomed bite, a pleased smile splitting across his face as he hopped right back up again with vigor restored. "While you do that, I gotta run a couple more bowls around-- I'll be back!"
He was the self appointed nurse-runner and cook (or just Jade's unwitting minion), after all, jogging right back out again-- thankfully AFTER Shae and Kanda had cleared out to avoid a disastrous run in-- and making a beeline for that dreaded soup pot, where he dug out two more servings worth to accompany the token bread hunks.
He would've dished up more, but even he was smart enough not to carry more than one dish in each hand. The last thing he needed was a burn as bad as the halfbreeds, after all! And then it would only be a hop, skip and a jump to that first room.
"Hey, guys!" Any shred of relaxation went out the window in an instant as Yossarian straightened right back up again, clearly putting the 'tough and well' persona on as soon as company intruded. "I brought you something to eat!"
"..." The dark male was highly suspicious, but that didn't stop the new third wheel from trotting over to make his offer-- and he couldn't deny that they needed food, so... he did take them (both) to hold one out in front of Aster, sighing, before a very painful. "... Thank you."
"No problem!" Takeshi chirped, before he paused, apparently having just noticed that the other bed was empty. "Where're the others?"
"... Off cleaning, I presume," Yossarian answered warily.
"Oh! Well... uh, I'll bring theirs in a little later then, thanks!"
And just like that, he was out again-- maybe to get his own share? Who could guess. But anyway... at least Kanda wouldn't be having to deal with much in the way of shy whatever sentiments like his rival had when it came to the inevitable joint cleaning ritual, what with Shae being A.) too logical to bother in such a circumstance and B.) too exhausted for any level of real coherency in the first place.
She'd stirred when the severe motion of really moving registered, but could she even reason out what was happening, or where they were going? Not really.
At least she was light enough for even a fellow invalid (well, partial-invalid) to deal with and not suffer too horribly over?
And then, last off, there was Hanna, who like any good gent (well, lady... ish), put on a bleary smile for her oh-so-courteous guest, who it seemed had brought her something to eat.
"... Why, thank you." She wasn't about to refuse the offer, either (for the record, she had pulled her undershirt back on once the aloe soaked in, not that it mattered between them) and accepted her bowl ever-so-graciously. Of all the bodies in the group, she was the one who should've known best what was probably in there... but she tried it anyway, and didn't seem opposed to a second bite, either.
Her stomach might've hissed in defiance, but she had willpower and intelligence on her side, so there.
"So..." On a more relieving side, though, it did feel good to have something coating her raw throat. Talking felt a little less strained. "You're on feeding rounds, I take it?..."
Then, a pause. Innocent, contemplative.
"... What exactly are you giving them by this?" Nope, no fooling her! She'd already figured out the delivery system, fuzzy brained or not.

Ha ha, if she'd been in a better state of being, she'd be all over rubbing his back (Hey! Looked like what Hanna had taught her -had- stuck! GASP!), but instead, it seemed their 'alone time' was to be interrupted by Takeshi, looking to him with a frown, before she sat back to lean against the wall, taking the food offering without a fuss.
Although her stomach immediately protested the idea of it, but she would just choke it down anyways, actually the first of the pair to take a bite. Hmmm, it wasn't too bad. A little mellow, but frankly, as much as she liked spices, she did need to give her poor belly a break from all of this silly silly 'taste' stuff.
Of course, nothing exploded after the first bite, so she just continued with the eating.
Though she'd likely regret it later if Jade's involvement meant anything.
Kanda, on the other hand, didn't have that to worry about at the moment. Instead, he had a barely-cognizant Shae in his arms, which had at least made the bathing process easier (well, if anything, he was starting to get a feel for how it was when Asteria couldn't move properly), even doing well to get some nice aloe on her once he'd dried her off again, before redressing her in something both clean and soft.
SUCH A GOOD NURSE.
However, it seemed that now that he was going to return her to bed.. he'd also have to wake her up for food, as the sound of his trip-tropping as likely to have attracted him the attention of a certain Kanus.
Well shoot!
Jade chuckled at Hanna's immediate suspicions (which were well founded, he would say).
"Just a little this, a little that. Something to help the immune system out while soothing fever pains.."
AND POSSIBLY TURN THE KIDS INTO LITTLE FREAKS LATER. MWA HA HA.

Good, she was eating-- and once Yossarian had assured himself of thus, it was his turn to do the very same, pausing to leer at Takeshi (who seemed to be waiting on them for something) before taking a tentative sip at the stuff, too. Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad. In fact, as far as a throw-together invalid's meal went, the whole thing probably earned fair marks.
Where and why the guy had learned to cook like that, he couldn't, and didn't want to bother guessing.
"Well, then!" But it seemed in partaking of the meal he had given the Kanus exactly what he needed, and thus, he decided it was time to jog right back on out again. "I gotta go keep an eye on the rest of that stuff in the kitchen... but uh, if any of you need something, just call for me, alright? I'll bring those other guys something when they're back around..."
He left with that, which actually meant the interrupted couple had time... more or less to themselves again, it only for a few minutes before Shae and Kanda (well, largely Kanda) broke in.
In the meanwhile, Yossarian just sort of... sat there, and ate. The food seemed to be settling well enough in his guts, and the more he ate, the more he realized just how empty they were.
Digressing back to Shae, however, she'd at least tried to be compliant through the whole bathing ritual: a valiant rebellion against failure, at best. All she could really do was sit there in the washtub quietly, try to life her arms to have a sleeve tugged on, not complain about the pathetic nature of it all she was only half aware of... but something was better than nothing, right? And... for what she could tell in the weary haze between consciousness and flat out dead, somewhere, she felt a little less unpleasant, after a while, like she'd had something grainy and grimy shed off her body.
But then it was time to move again, and that was about when she lulled back off from whatever state she'd been in-- just in time (sure enough) for a certain Kanus to pick up on Kanda's footsteps, and the creak of a door.
"..." Yossarian even paused briefly to look over at the pair when they reappeared, but he decided it wasn't worth the effort of a real greeting, and returned to his bowl. No sooner had he done that, though--
"Ah!" Damn, Takeshi really did have sharp ears, and sense enough to already be carrying an additional couple of bowls as he poked his head back in the door. "There you guys are!" Could anything get him down? Anything at all? "I got something for both of you to eat, too!"
Because everyone in the qua-- .... se-- ... whatevertet needed to share in the communal poisoning, too!
Even Hanna who, despite knowing full well the stuff was mysteriously spiked, just nonchalantly took another couple of bites. Sure, there might have been a few odd side effects (she wasn't foolish enough to think otherwise), but Jade was not the type to lie on such matters, either. If he said those additions would help stave off sickness, then it would... among other things, but still.
"... Well, fair enough for me." Would it even affect her in the slightest? That seemed like a pretty unbelievable notion! ... But hey, even she was mortal, as such unfortunate recent events had proven. "I... really do hope it helps them feel better. Youth... isn't meant to suffer so at the hands of such illness."
Ha, waxing a little philosophical there, was she?
"So..." It was sadly clear that her eyes weren't focussing quite on his face when she looked over, but that hardly mattered at all. "... It's going to be an interesting night... isn't it?"

Well, food was...food. And her insides were at least being receptive to it, sighing and patting her poor belly. However, it's happy receptiveness was to not be for long when Takeshi returned with..
oh god..
more food. fjaskf;. DNW. She didn't get all puke-y after that, and was still capable of eating, just the idea of eating MORE was bothering her not-so-happy tummy. Which was an unhappy tummy like no other. :C Or something like that.
Either way, Asteria set her bowl aside once she'd actually finished off the meal (Thank god she'd gained capability in feeding herself and actually finishing her food), pausing to see if she could find a spot for it (Hmm, no real side tables..), before settling on putting it on the bed.
THERE.
Umm.. ...
Yeah.
Following that, she just flopped herself down on the bed to curl up on her side. Oh unhappy belly. Why were you so unhappy? WHY SO UNHAPPY?????
She couldn't really follow it, unfortunately.
Kanda had just tucked Shae back into her bed when Takeshi came in with the bowls of food, sighing as he took them from the Kanus, before looking down at the practically passed out Shae and frowning.
How did one feed the dead?
"Shae. Food."
R U AWAKE?
Jade chuckled a bit.
"Interesting would definitely be one way to put it." he mused, scratching the end of his nose, before waving one hand nonchalantly. Oh dear.....
"Just how interesting you're thinking varies, though."

Well at least that second round of portions hadn't been intended for their consumption, as even Yossarian could've possibly lost his lunch over the prospect. He did manage to finish his lone bowl in mostly short order, and set it aside to join Asteria's, but... oh, man, that was more than enough for him to deal with by itself.
Thank god Takeshi had been kind enough not to stick around after his delivery (he had other 'patients' to check on: namely, a certain lone tabby in the other room), because the dark male, too, decided to actually give in against his weaker impulses a little not thirty seconds later, shoulders sagging, and ears even drooping as he leaned back a bit, almost tempted to lay down, but...
Well, he'd see how long he could hold out. Staying upright was better for both his manliness and his secret battle against vomiting.
He lamely took her bowl and set it on the floor just to keep it out of the way, following the same procedure with his own. At least they'd both finished. That had to count for something, right? He hadn't needed to hold the spoon for her or baby the woman incessantly, either!
The only ones who really needed to get settled in now were... well, Kanda and Shae both, but the latter a little more so, still pathetically out of it while Takeshi had tromped in with his boisterous noise, but... at the very least, she seemed to stir at her name, perhaps an attempt at being compliant.
Food sounded awful on the one hand, but uh... she was being addressed, wasn't she? Hadn't that been her name called?
"... Nnnngh...?" Though one could hardly call that mumble-groaning a real 'response', even if she did twitch and ear forward (... er, sort of).
Poor Squalo was about to get himself interrupted again, though, as Takeshi, having wasted no time whatsoever, was quick to pop back in and check on how his nearest, dearest companion happened to be fairing. "Hey, man." Good thing he was, at the very least, a little tamer than previous when he made his entrance. "How is it?"
WAS HIS BRO ALRIGHT?
Well, he did care enough to be concerned about him, after all!
Really, how Hanna could still sip so placidly at the contents of her bowl even after a more-or-less blatant admittance of inevitable side effects was lunacy, but hey-- it fit for a lunatic like herself, right? Thankfully, the meal seemed to be behaving as well in her stomach as anyone else's... and surely, she'd be immune to whatever bizarre effects it had, right?
"Really?" Apparently, though, there wouldn't be a consistent effect she could guess, which made the whole thing infinitely more interesting. "Well, now... it's just a matter of sitting, and waiting, I suppose..."
Yes, waiting for them all to show whatever turnaround they'd (hopefully) be making, still stuck in that little pseudo-sanctuary of a hostel while the big Xeric city beyond kept running without care. "You'll be eating too, won't you?" she did ask, however, in the end. "... Even you can't run... solely on the woe of the young forever, you know."

Jade couldn't help but laugh at Hanna's statement a bit.
"Ah, you caught me~" he mused, waving a hand nonchalantly, before chuckling. "I was waiting until food had been divvied to my secondary food source before I'd worry about it, but I'll go at least partake of a primary one."
Oh he was so funny... that was just him being silly, right?
Hopefully? (Oh god plz? )
Kanda took Shae's sound-effect as a sign of life, before he set the bowls aside to work on propping her up into, more or less, a sitting position. It was ever so delightful! However, now Kanda had the problem of... feeding.
"Are you capable of eating?"
OR IS THIS GOING TO BE A LONG LONG LONG PROCESS? Because he'd really like to not have to spoonfeed her and make sure she didn't choke on everything.
It would have been weird...
Squalo immediately frowned when Takeshi came back in, still having half a bowl left of the stuff sitting in his lap that he'd already been leering at it. Hmmmmmm.
"I'm...fine.." he grumbled, obviously not inclined for the Kanus to stare 'doting' over him.
Aster, on the other hand, just made things EVEN BETTER for Yossarian's masculinity when he sat back, immediately repositioning herself to put her head on his lap.

Was she... what, now, exactly? Poor Shae's brain continued to struggle with any form of comprehension, but the words seemed almost nonsensical, and was several very long seconds before she figured out what to say in turn. Capable, sure; she could probably manage if she really tried-- but that was beside the point, because she didn't want to. Hell, just smelling the stuff effectively dissuaded her from wanting anything but to get away from it, and yet...
"... I-I... guess..." She tried her best to be coherent, and succeeded at least to some extent, even if it was barely audible.
No matter how one looked at it, the situation was pathetic. If she hadn't been leaning on him so heavily, she probably couldn't have even stayed sitting, anymore. There was just nothing left to her but the deeply ingrained, yet swiftly waning reflex to obey.
Sigh. Well... if he insisted, she couldn't really fight against the idea of a meal, in the end. So long as she had energy enough to stay awake, she'd just have to try and stand it.
(It'd be for the better in the end, right?)
Food actually served Yossarian well enough, at least-- still definitely feeling under the weather, sure... but at least he wasn't starving any longer, and that had to be a plus. With his position mostly secured on the bed, and relative peace in the room while his rival got to play the glorious role of nurse, he could just sort of... sit there with an Aster's head on his lap, as close to content as was possible for someone of his standing.
... Er, sitting. Whatever.
But... it did help, somehow, and as the minutes seemed to drag by, and the air settled into an atmosphere or reasonable tranquility, he could've sworn he almost felt relaxed, for a change. They might've been sick and disheveled, but they were finally cleaned up, and in a safe place with beds and walls and sun coverage where they could rest off their ills.
On that note... he'd grabbed that jar back again and pulled the lid off to offer, what with Aster having gotten her cleanliness back about her.
(If only he could've known the terribleness already brewing inside of him. If only.)
"Really? Ah, okay..." It was hard to say, too, whether or not Takeshi believed his comrade's insistence-- and while he did let it rest, there, the not-quite-as-chipper Kanus did wind up hopping over to flop across his own bed in the room once he fluttered out to snag a bowl of his own, rather than hang in the kitchen, perhaps to stick around for the sake of 'company'.
"Man, it does feel pretty good to just sit and chill out again," he sighed after a nice, big mouthful. "I was starting to get pretty tired of the sun and sand too..."
And he'd outlasted them all!
Well, time would tell if his endurance remained for what was coming next, huh? Given how he'd wolfed the stuff down, though...
Hanna even finished her bowl, shock though it may have been, picking the little vessel up to sip a last few swallows of broth before setting it aside, and letting loose what could've been a weak laugh or chuckle (or cough).
"... You know... that the blood of the living can be so easily spoiled by just rushing," she chided, ever-so-softly, before it was broken by a much more definite, hoarse and wet cough into her sleeve, grimacing inwardly at the taste. "Your patience... will be rewarded, I'm sure."
But she didn't drag it out beyond that; he needed to go grab himself some food too, and she... well, she probably should've taken a bath, herself, now that most of the 'needier' bunch had cleared out... except that she was feeling a little more lethargic than expected, post-meal, and reasoned that maybe, just perhaps, it'd be wiser to stay in bed a bit longer.
That was nothing though, right? Ha, yeah, sure.

Siiigh. If anything else, Kanda didn't mind having to somewhat spoonfeed Shae, shifting to free up his arms while he worked on assisting Shae in her feeding.
Nomnomnom.
Or something related to the nomnomnom. He was at least going to be stubborn enough to not eat until the invalid in his company was better. WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE SOMEONE MORE FUNCTIONAL LIKE ASTERIA WAS TO TAKE CARE OF?
Not that he minded TOO much.
He wasn't his father or anything like that :///
Aster 'Hmm'ed when she looked up to see Yossarian offering the jar of Aloe, hmming thoughtfully before taking it from him without much of a fuss, dabbing her fingers in the stuff before going about shoving her hand into her shirt to start rubbing it all over her lovely burns.
Ugh.
Crispy.
But as soon as she was sure she'd covered everything, she sat there holding her shirt somewhat open (from the bottom) to allow it to dry on her skin and not her clothing. Hnnngh.
"Think we'll get to rest a while before we go out?"
Who knew.
Jade did!! And he had just happily gone off to get himself a bowl of the disaster, though he did return quickly enough to sit in Hanna's presence while he poisoned himself. Omai!
Hopefully he wasn't immune to what was going to happen. Ha ha ha.
"I don't think anybody should go out tonight though..."
