Kilik stared at Aaron before looking at the ceiling. From what he could deduce, Aaron had been abandoned before. He needed something concrete...something safe... Then a lecture Sebastien had given him on conducting business popped back into his head. "In that case...let's sign a contract. I let you stay here for a 3-month trial. You'll work as my drawing muse and model as I mentioned before. 70% of the money will go to me and the other 20% will go to you. And even though you're not my servant, church fees and city taxes apply regardless. Food and housing will be provided, but clothing and any other miscellaneous materials you'll have to get using your own pay. At the end of the 3-month trial, you'll be given 2 options: extend your contract to a full-time worker for the rest of the year, or leave. If you choose to leave, out of courtesy, I'll lend you my carriage to help you get your things to a hotel or something, wherever you plan to go. There'll also be a discharger's fee where I'm required to give you a final pay regardless if you'd made any profits or not. So you'll have that money on top of what you make."

Kilik sighed and sat up before standing. "Sebastien and Marie chose to stay here. I didn't ask them to. I only rule over them as far as they have pushed me. I'm just a regular guy who has popular drawings. This place is more of a boarding house than an esteemed manor of a wealthy noble...if I can even be called that..." He scratched the back of his head. "Basically, what I'm saying here, Aaron, is...I can't very well throw out someone who decided to stay on their own terms. If they choose to stay here, only they can leave. If I tell them to, they don't have to. This place...is a free space. Anyone can be anything they want here. Sebastien wanted to stay by my side and serve me so he appointed himself the job title of Head Butler and watches over my academic progression to make sure I can live up to my 'noble' image in public. Marie wants to be my maid and be near me since she has nothing better to do... This neither bothers me or upsets me. I just...let it be. Simple as that. Do you get it now, Aaron?"

Kilik nodded. "Good, then I'll have Sebastien bring out the contract later for you to sign." He paused in thought. "As for anything else... Not really. Unless, if you can think of something that you can do that Sebastien or Marie can't do better, then you could take a crack at that as well, I suppose." Then he chuckled when the other mentioned Marie. "Ah, Marie...my little songbird. Alas, she is the jealous type...do you know why?" He leaned towards Aaron, his eyes narrowed seductively as he smiled mischievously. "...I have no interest in...women." Then he quickly leaned back and away. "But don't fret, I never make passes at employees under contract. It'd be call sexual harassment and indecent intentions toward business. It's improper etiquette."

Kilik blinked and looked at Aaron. "Stress, huh? Well, you're not required to do that. If you want to do so, that's okay, but... Don't feel like you have to serve past what I ask of you. Outside of being my art model...you have no other service to owe to me." He ran a hand through his hair. "As for your last master, what he said doesn't matter. You're with me now. So forget all that stuff, got it!?"

Kilik said nothing as Aaron softly kissed him. "Hm...careful. If you do things like that, I just may fall for you, y'know." He chuckled and looked out the window. "Teaching you how to draw on top of teaching you how to fight. Hm... Okay, how about this, I'll teach you how to draw in my free time. Then...when I'm away on business, I'll have Sebastien teach you how to fight. Between the two of us, he's the better fighter. That's why he's my bodyguard!"

Kilik laughed. "I was only joking. Remember, I don't fall for my employees." He took a breath to stop laughing. "As for that...most likely. I know for a fact that Sebastien is the type to train you until your bruises has bruises. Ah! But fret not, you'll be happy he did when you reach that moment where you realize that regular punches can't hurt you anymore!"

Kilik shrugged. "Can't tell me that. If I tried to teach you, I'd probably make tons of mistakes. My head is filled with nothing but drawing, after all. And if you told Sebastien what you just told me, he'll either not train you at all or just train you harder." He glanced towards the window when Aaron looked out of it. "A stalker, huh?" He looked at Aaron. "Sorry, but...if it's a knife, I don't know if we have any. Ask Sebastien for that. Sorry." He yawned.

Kilik stared at the letter opener for a time before shrugging. "Just clean it and have it back when you're done. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm exhausted and need my rest.
