It should be better this year. I checked Anime Mid-Atlantic's schedule and they moved back to their old dates in June, so there shouldn't be as much competition for which con the dealers go to.

Hey, how about we organize an event of some sort where we storm the mall food court an exit or two down for lunch... in cosplay. Unofficial event, of course, but still. Or perhaps some other location. I know I'm going to want to stop at one of the area BJs stores (probably #110 Cary store) to stock up on a couple of things, though that will probably be Thursday night.

We ought to go to Applebees on Sunday actually in costume, since we've almost made a tradition of going to lunch there after the con. smile I have very fond memories of actually going to a fancy Italian restaurant in Baltimore dressed as Sailor Mars.

that'd be awesome! i'd love to see the looks on people's faces as a big group of costumed anime geeks came into the restaurant!

If it's for an actual restaurant, we may want to keep the groups small. the downside of the Applebees on Sunday is of course that then we have to drive hoem in costume. I'm not so sure about stopping at a random gas station on US 1 or 74 in costume.

*hides* I have no idea what's going on! And I have no excuse, none at all! gonk
I'm still trying to talk my friend into giving up his perfectionism for ONE FREAKIN' MINUTE so we can go as Pyramid Head and Maria from SH2. (We're doing James and Maria as it is.) He's 6'5", he's going to have to deal with the fact that unless one of us miraculously learns to sew, getting a "man dress" in his size is going to be a little impossible.
(Please don't kick me out for my lazy inactiveness!)

We'll forgive you... or at least I will...
Perfectionism and costuming is usually a bad combo... xd This is speaking from personal experience. It tends to be more stress than it's worth and then there's no way the costume will come out the way you want it... It can really take the fun out of the conventions.
Of course I need to start taking my own advice and try getting my costumes done before the convention and not worrying about all the little inane details.
