The kitty detective eyes the problem scrupulously taking in every detail. Such a hard problem nearly had the detective stumped until her companion helped provide the pivotal clue.
"The answer is clear to me. From the pirates talk, he had us fooled from the beginning on how to solve it. Now, think of how he worded his sentence."
"Take away two coins from this here arrangement to leave five coins across and three coins going down."
"If one were to listen to the way he would say it, the sentence could also be interpreted as such:
"Take away two coins from this here arrangement to leave five coins, a cross, and three coins going down."
"With this clue in mind, we would take the two far right coins away from the rest leaving five coins, a + (cross) with three going down." The kitty detective said with a resolute tone holding a nonlit pipe to her lips in a satisfactory manner.

These will be 100 gold each.
Problem #17: If you are in a dark room with a candle, a wood stove and a gas lamp. You only have one match, so what do you light first?
Problem #17.3: If potatoes should be boiled for 20 minutes, can you say how long sausages should be grilled?
Problem #17.5: What 4-letter sport starts with a T?
Problem #17.8: My brother, the local bus driver, was telling me that recently he was driving a bus full of people and no-one got off on the way. However, at the end of the journey, there was not a single person left on the bus. How?

You light the match first so you could use it to light the other items. ♥

fox of the fallen ones These will be 100 gold each. Problem #17:If you are in a dark room with a candle, a wood stove and a gas lamp. You only have one match, so what do you light first? Thats an old one, the match... though its already answered. fox of the fallen ones Problem #17.3:If potatoes should be boiled for 20 minutes, can you say how long sausages should be grilled? I don see the connection so... Ima guess no you can't. fox of the fallen ones Problem #17.5:What 4-letter sport starts with a T? Must be a lesser known sport, no clue. fox of the fallen ones Problem #17.8:My brother, the local bus driver, was telling me that recently he was driving a bus full of people and no-one got off on the way. However, at the end of the journey, there was not a single person left on the bus. How? Not a 'single' person left. All were still there.

17.3: Same amount of time short sausages are grilled. xd
17.8: You practically solved it for me right there without me even looking at the problem Aes. lol
Everyone was married so no "single" person was left on the bus.

I guess this is what I get for posting easy ones like this in quantity. lol Miss Freaky Rose ♥ #17
You light the match first so you could use it to light the other items. ♥ Solution Correct, 100 gold to Rose. NineMoonz Problem 17.3: yes, how long sausages should be grilled Problem 17.5: Golf starts with a tee! biggrin Nine, on 17.3 it wasn't being literal on wanting you to repeat it lol (Not on this one anyways.) Though the golf solution is correct. 100 gold to Nine. Dark Kaze4 17.3: Same amount of time short sausages are grilled. xd 17.8: You practically solved it for me right there without me even looking at the problem Aes. lol Everyone was married so no "single" person was left on the bus. The answer it gives is the married thing but when I look back at the question again, either answer is pretty much acceptable since no one got off still. 100 gold to Aes. 100 gold to Kaze for the sausage one.

Hmm? I haven't stopped. I just haven't been on the last few days. sweatdrop The following problems don't really have a special name for what they are. Though, I've taken a liking to calling them Mixups. They are letters or objects arranged in a way to represent a phrase or just a word. I've done a few before already in previous problems. Problem #18:What is represented by this? Problem #18.2:What is represented by this? C H I M A D E N A Problem #18.4:What is represented by this Mixup? 1. Tune 2. Tune 3. Tune 4. Chune Problem #18.6:What is represented by this Mixup? WEEDGWEEDUWEEDAWEEDRWEEDDWEED Problem #18.8:What is represented by this Mixup? IS IS IS IS IS IS IS IS IS IS
