She spotted him over the forest and leapt from her ride, who quickly vanished back into the clouds. Her bone ribbed gossamer wings spread, she descended silently next to him. Her harp sounded in caution, but in worry. She looked at him long and hard, and plucked the arpeggios of new strength on her harp. Carefully, she made her way to a lower branch until she could reach down and touch him. Her arm sparked again, telling her of his pain. Kairen summoned her energy and channeled it through the song of renewed life. Each etude like passage brought him a new wave of healing, and her a receding tide. She almost felt bad that she presisted on trying to kill him for so long. Damn her bloodlust! Damn everything that made her a warrior...

Lydia walked into the bar she owned. She started cleaning it up and setting up the numerous bottles of alchohol. She looked around. This place has come so far, she thought. She put the ice in the freezer. Veroso could be a busy place especially when the royals were not around. She sat down behind the bar and waited. She was always waiting, vampires learn to wait.
