pcgeek88 Stick me anywhere too... sweatdrop I want a position too.. You don't just get stuck anywhere, if you want to be in the C&T PD, ask, but you start out an officer and you must work your way up. Welcome to the C&T regulars smile

Arethic Wake up C&T PD....... nobody has nothing to report......? Maybe we should make a sticky to report wierd posts removed, I am running into alot of really wierd posts lately. Well, everything is business as usual: just asking mods to send threads to /dev/null I was thinking today that we should come up with a guide of "recommended computers" for different needs and different price ranges to possibly made a sticky. I've been seeing more and more of "what computer shood I buy!?! is alienware good?!" However, as far as I know, because each thread is subtly different and doesn't repeat any information, they don't violate rules.

Well, first of all I'm tired of all the stupid crap people post like...'I have spyware problems' or 'help mai wif me comp'. There's a sticky for the spyware/adware stuff, and being a computer consultant, I can't stand when they use that stupid language that nobody understands. Plus I also get tired of seeing people putting they're useless Chatterbox crap in the C&T Forum.

I've been seeing more and more of "what computer shood I buy!?! is alienware good?!" However, as far as I know, because each thread is subtly different and doesn't repeat any information, they don't violate rules. /dev/null, haha........ As for Alienware, some of those fall under the Done To Death FAQ, if only we could advertise that more better to some of the people in C&T. pcgeek88 Well, first of all I'm tired of all the stupid crap people post like...'I have spyware problems' or 'help mai wif me comp'. There's a sticky for the spyware/adware stuff, and being a computer consultant, I can't stand when they use that stupid language that nobody understands. Plus I also get tired of seeing people putting they're useless Chatterbox crap in the C&T Forum. One thing you must realize there, is that you can't just call this people stupid and call it all stupid crap, people don't realize to check the Rules and the Done To Death FAQ, so you have to be nice to them and inform them when they make mistakes. The 1337 talk or whatever is used alot, sorry, there aren't really rules against it so even being in C&T PD you can't do much but put up with it, and just ask people to translate it into more proper english if they speak nothing but it. As for the stuff that is spam and pointless in C&T, you don't flame them, you give them a warning and report the post and possibly them depending on how many times they have spammed in the past. Remember one other thing, some people accidently post in the C&T in a spam like fasion, not all posts need deleted, if someone posts something that belongs in Tech-Talk or some other area of the site, you should tell them nicely and ask a mod to move it to that location. If you find a post that you don't know what to do with, then either PM a mod and ask them to review it, or more better to do is come here and possibly ask one of us or PM one of us and ask us to review it. Last things really needed to be said, is just that make sure you have a good understanding of the C&T rules and the Gaia Rules, and check out the Rules to PMing about threads, and remember this, never PM the administration ever. Good luck wink

I understand that, and I do ask them to use proper English. And I am nice to these people, not once have I said something that would be "mean". I never flame them either....who would I PM and what what be the subject line and what would the body need to be about? Good luck wink Actually just to be safe, I went back and read the C&T rules and the Done to Death FAQ over a couple of times just to make sure I had it down. EDIT: Where is that 'Rules to PMing about threads' at?

As for Alienware, some of those fall under the Done To Death FAQ, if only we could advertise that more better to some of the people in C&T. The Done to Death FAQ needs to be made a separate sticky. Most people don't scroll past the first post. Methinks we should redo the organization of the rules. Also, I was just using Alienware as an example: I've seen Dell, HP, Gateway, etc all substituted in there. I interpreted the Alienware section of the Done to Death FAQ as something to combat "What makes AlienWare so cool?" threads; I don't believe that there is any regulation against asking what sort of computer to buy unless that falls under $HARDWARE (which I interpreted as specific components).

Welcome pcgeek88, glad you want to contribute to making the C&T a fun, informative, and less spammy place for all. I am online at least twice daily cleaning up threads and whatnot there, so feel free to pm me with any links or issues you may have, and I will get to them as soon as I can. 3nodding
