Kaidan Chloe Darkblade I went to an Anime convention and in a small little room with the Anime Idol competition across the hall this small panel explained the basics of J-Rock along with showing videos of the knowns like Miyavi, Dir en Grey, and Malice Mizer and had other items like Magazines, CDS, DVD cases out for you to handle and look at. One of them was even going to make you look like a J-Rocker with make-up. All the more reasons why anime convention jrock panels SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME.... Their cosplay was the best though. If I can, I will find a picture of them sitting pretty up on the panel block. Or maybe I can find one somewhere on a random site. The whole J-Rock makeup scared me too much. A few indulged in it but I stayed out of it. There were quite a few girls there asking to see some Gackt. One girl on the panel sounded like a broken record because of them. "We don't have any Gackt's PVs." They did have a video room in the west wing of the hotel that had a J-Rock video hour. It was like 4:30am when I hit my alarm and went down there with my friend to lay on the chairs and watch them.

I've got so many crazy videos that people would LOVE despite the lack of gackt vomit or junk like that. Leave the cosplay and all that to OTHER people.

Not a big anime fan or tired of Anime being related to J-Rock? I know for a fact that they probably talked to the schedulers and staff about it and showed like a plan of some sort to get an Okay on it and put into the planning. I mean, I don't know about any big conventions that you could do that with but this was a first year convention in 2003. I missed it this year on account I was at home listening to my grandmother and waiting on her hand and foot. Not fun.

So no conventions here, and no money to get to ones in other places. That and anime conventions are just hives of ICK. My anime appreciation is waning, and the fandoms are doing nothing to help it. But mostly all the fangirls begging me for idols and vk. I would quickly lose what's left of my sanity.

But mostly all the fangirls begging me for idols and vk. I would quickly lose what's left of my sanity. After a long stall time we finally got a convention here in Tampa. It's only been running for two years and it's quite small too. I wouldn't think you would have any money since every cent goes towards CD Purchases. xD I have to say, this convention isn't as bad as all the others I have been too. Jacon is ICK, Metrocon is too small to be ICK. What I really hate are the fandoms that watch nothing but English Dub on Television and think they know everything about the shows. I watch the lesser known Animes just because of this. You could just have them kicked out? The girl who sounded like a broken record was close to asking them to escort them out of the JRock panel. They have the power to do that. When my mom went in there with me and was watching the videos her eyes were huge. She looks over at me and goes "This, is Angry Man music." I laughed and then the time for questions came up. She raised her hand and she was the ONLY adult in there. [Not that being an adult and liking JRock, Anime or whatever is a bad thing.] She asks: "Okay, so these VK bands of your era, are they similar to the Ozzy Osborne of my time?" It got silent for a second and she starts to nod that they are somewhat similar. She looked so surprised that an adult that knows nothing about VK and JRock could make such a comparassion. After we left, my mom goes "Your Japanese Rock, Kicks so much a**. Anytime you want to go to a concert, let me know." I know this was really random. o_o;

AoiTori Oh hmm. I can't remember if I live near there or not. Well, I don't live in Tampa. I live in St. Petersburg which is right across the Gandy Bridge if you know where that is. o_o; Tampa is too crowded to me. I'm not all for living in a city like that.

To put it simply: Anime got me into J-rock.
About all the convention bashing, I was known for trashing cons and cosplayers and the like, but now that I've experienced it, I see the whole thing through different eyes. It's just fun. It may be wacky, bizarre, dorky, whatever, but I overall had such a good time. I really wouldn't go to a con unless I wanted to see a band, though.
