I'm not surprised that you noticed the styles.
In a side note: the styles from Chi-Ran are extremely cute too but that can be discussed in the Chi-Ran thread. xD

This has to be one of my all time favorite mangas its really cute, and the art style is really appealing to the eye. I'd have to say even though its slow paced, I'd say I like that aspect (Even if it can be agonizing at times.) Reason being is because the relationship, has time to bloom along the way. I adore both Akko, and Mari its really hard to choose between the two. But I feel myself leaning more towards Akko, she's so girly but cute.
She has this sweet nature about her, not to mention she's outgoing which I find myself drawn to. Besides Akko, and Mari's relationship I'm hoping for a relationship between SugixTamamin. I found the earlier chapters with them goofing was what got me thinking about the possibility of the pairing. With the latest chapter it got me to thinking, even more on the pairing .... which has me hoping for a hook up in the near future. They'd look so cute together what with the way their personalities differ from one another so much!!

Thanks for the rec! I just totally wasted several hours reading this. It's good, I like it. I think I'm going to have to share it with friends.
Sugi and Tamamin would make a good pairing. I like the way they work together. I think it'd be cute. Good couple.

A "preview" release has been posted, on like page 97 of the comments, by the scanslator. Apparently there haven't been good-quality scans released for this chapter, so they had to make do. It's not a full release, but it solves the waiting problem.

I read them all in a big run too, when I first discovered it. Got a favorite character or so? ^ ^ I think Akko's pretty cute, but I think Sugi amuses me the most. It helps that she reminds me a little bit of a friend of mine--especially in chapter 28. XD

I think Akko is currently my favorite character thus far. Nana was frustrating me with her 'silent suffering' attitude for a little while, but the chapter about Sugi did bring her up in popularity a bit. ^_^ We'll just have to keep hoping for more warm and fuzzy feelings. I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Althy- Nana? I don't remember a character by that name. =O Though I have to say, the chapter that focused more on Sugi was very cute--I enjoyed it a lot.

I wish we'd see something more like Sugi and Tamamin though, but I like that the author is developing the relationship between Mari and Akko rather than simply going with a "They're together now, happily-ever-after-the-end." Although I hope that doesn't mean there's going to be super drama and less warm fuzzy on the horizon. Though it looks like more warm fuzzy coming up for now.

ROFL. Kage caught me >.< Nana is the name of a different character that looks exactly *and sort of acts* exactly like Mari does in the anthology Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry Blossom Pink I think it's called. It's a bunch of interconnected one shots that may have been the basis for Girlfriends. In it, the main couple-ish is an Akko looking character whose name I believe is Hitomi, and a Mari -esque character named Nana. It's basically...I can't describe it because my friend is distracting me right now. Let me get back to you, or you can just go look it up and see. ^_^ same artist, same character styles, different names and slightly different story. *nod*

I read all 31 chapters between last night and today. Apparently there's no more until May? sad
It really is sugar sweet, I'm gonna go look up Milk's other work I think.
There were so many moments that reminded me of some of my friends and things that happened in school, I was kind of like Mari, but spoiler?: it never ended as well /spoiler.
I've been noticing the fashion too. Makes me wanna dress cute. Need a job need a job need a job
