Setara looked up at Matta as he rose, wincing at his apparent stiffness & feeling rather guilty for it. She pushed the guilt aside however & watched him carefully for a few moments afore speaking. "You should not strain yourself to rise....I am sure they will keep us here a while longer." Setara observed rather blankly. There was little energy left in the young nomad to actually put any feeling into anything apart from her thoughts & even then, the process was tiring. "How are you feeling?" She enquired without looking at him, leaning back against the wall behind her & letting her head loll into a comfortable position.

"...like I was beaten and thrown into prison." He answered with a grin. It wasn't really funny. But he was at the point where he had to joke about the situation they were in lest he just sit in a gloom.
"How are you holding up? You don't look like you've slept at all..." Concern tinged his voice. She looked and sounded exhausted. They needed to get out of here as soon as possible. He didn't suppose that breaking out of prison would better their situation at all though.

Setara let out a small & rather diminutive laugh as relief washed over her. Matta was the part of himself that she considered more personable & most certainly the part that wasn't going to take advantage of her. The nomad waved aside his concern with a weak hand movement & shook her head. "I'll live." Was her rather impartial reply. "A little sleep deprivation never hurt anyone...besides..who else was going to keep an eye on you?" She too managed a grin this time round & noted how she had made Matta seem like he needed a sitter without realising. But it was true enough. It was not as if the guards were making sure they weren't tearing eachother to bits or worse, planning an escape after tearing their cellmate to bits. Setara tried to stretch out, finding it difficult but doable so long as she did not disturb her healing limb. "Besides...I dislike falling asleep in places I'm not familiar with. Theres no safety in it..."

He grinned a little sheepishly at that. He really didn't understand why she was so nice to him after he acted in appalling ways. He relaxed back against the wall, closing his eyes for a moment. When he opened them again, they focused on the bandaged part of his leg and he noticed the fabric color was not his own. His expression softened and a bit of a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth despite the situation.
He found himself thinking it would be nice if he could just stay here with Setara, then chided himself. How could he possibly think something like that when she needed to get back to her family? But what if they harmed her when she went back? Somehow he figured she'd rather go even if she knew she were to be harmed.
He looked at her with concern. He could not and would not say anything to try and convince her not to go. She'd never listen anyway. But a guilt ate at him. It was his fault that she was in the position. But what could he do?
but his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a key clanging in their door.

Setara's eyes snapped to the door & she struggled to her feet, using the wall to support herself as she dragged her deadened frame into standing. She glanced at Matta to make sure that he was alright, wondering what things were going through his head at that moment to warrant his rather wistful expression. She pushed the thoughts aside now, concerned now only with getting Matta & herself or at least Matta out of that cold & rather unhomely little space. Setara hoped to high heaven that she would not be kept long. She would never forgive herself if anything had happened to her family. Her green eyes remained trained on the door, her breathing considerably composed for one in her state of both body & mind.

There stood to guards in the hall, but a little man entered. He was dressed rather nicely and carried an air of importance about him. He looked over both of them, assessing their wounds. He shot a scornful look at one of the guards, who shrunk away from the much smaller man. The smaller one then cleared his throught and addressed the two.
"My humble apologies for the confusion. The Princess will be unable to see to this matter herself, but as her Steward I am hereby releasing you both from this mistake. We have a hot meal and a nurse-maid waiting for you both in one of the upper levels. Please follow me"
Matta let a bit of a suprized sound out. They were just getting released? He was a little uncertain of the situation. He shot a bit of a cautious look to Setara, then decided he would exit first to make sure it wasn't a trap. But the first step forward lead to a jolt of pain and he collapsed forward onto the floor.
The steward raised his brow a bit. Then signalled for the other guard to carry Matta. And before he had much of a chance to protest, he was hoisted into the large man's arms and swept out of the room. The steward then turned to Setara.
"Miss, please follow us."

Setara stood there dumbly for a moment, letting what was going on fully register in her tired brain. She returned Matta's cautious glance & winced as his legs caved way under him, unable to rush to him or help him in any useful manner. Setara was hardly about to object & limped forward, following those in front of her, her mind racing again with the continuous whirring of thoughts. She stood up as straight as possible, making it seem as though she needed no help with walking when in truth, her legs were fatigued, shaky & her balance was hardly that of an unharmed being. Setara was inclined to ignore the pain adamantly & half stumbled, half limped her way up staircases & down a few hallways to their apparent destination. It was a pity that the walls were so barren & unebellished as Setara would have quite liked something to distract her. She halted as they did.

They made their way up the staircase and slowly progressed up it. Matta felt to weak to be protesting that he was being carried like a woman. Even though he'd not been up very long he felt drowsy again. Just how much blood had he lost? He sighed and felt his body relax in the hold of the other man. He really didn't have the energy to sustain a resistance. He fell into a rhythm of listening to the footsepts and feeling the slight bounce from each step and was lulled out of consciousness again.
The Steward however, was alert and lead them to a small room. Plain in decoration though very clean, it was obviously a servant's quarters. A couple of middle-aged women sat waiting the two, with a few basins of water, various medicines and bandages. Also, as promised, a meal sat on the table. It was not a vast spread, but enough to feed the two with left overs.
"take and Eat, Miss." the steward said, and waved the guard to set Matta on the bed, and then nodded to the two women. "We'll see to your unconscious friend's wounds while you eat, and then we must take a look at your wounds as well."
Then without waiting for a response, the guards left the room. The Steward took another moment to look around the room and assess the situation. Seemingly satisfied, he strode out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Setara sat staring about the room for no particular reason other than she did not feel like doing much else. The nomad sat down on the side of one of the beds in the servants quaters & allowed herself to relax slightly, making sure not to make eye contact with the nursemaids as she was hardly in the mood for any judgemental looks. Though she thought it would be rather judgemental of herself to assume that they would give her such looks in the first place. Setara looked up & gazed about the room afore her gaze finally fell on Matta. Guilt stabbed like an icy dagger in her chest & made her feel as low as creature as could be.
The sudden pang of guilt put her off her food entirely, even though she was deserately hungry & her stomach was dispairingly empty. She reasoned that forcing herself to eat would be the better idea & took up a roll, nibbling on it in a birdish manner, her green eyes looking about & blinking owlishly. Setara thought about leaving, but realised she owed Matta at least a farewell & a thank you afore she left for home. But part of her cried out in defiance, begging her to stay with this person who had treated her as an equal, as a human being. But that was the selfish part & she ignored it completely, knowing that goobyes would only hurt more. Setara decided that as soon as her wounds were tended to, she would leave. She cleared her throat. "Excuse me Ma'am...." She addressed one of the nursemaids. "Would you know where my knapsack was taken after I was brought here?" She enquired politely. If she wasnt going to say goodbye, a note prehaps was a good idea.

The nursemaid who was mulling over Matta's wound gave a start at Setara's voice. She smiled a little, not really looking Setara in the eye and gestered to the sack laid on one of the chairs.
"I believe that is yours... miss" The formality seemed to be added with a bit of hesitation. She waited to make sure Setara had seen the placement of the knapsack then interjected softly, "I would advise more than a roll since you have no eatten since yesterday. "
She nodded a little and set back to unpeeling the bandages to Matta's wound. The other woman was using a damp cloth to try and clean some of the caked blood from Matta's raven black hair. The second woman looked up at Setara.
"After you've had a few bites I'll look after your wounds." she was the elder of the two. But neither woman would look Setara directly in the eyes.

Setara nodded & put on as bright a smile as she could muster, despite their obvious discomfort. She wasnt going to try & change their oppinion of her, for she wasn't fussed about what they thought. "I'll try to." Setara smiled again, though this time weakly as the thought of eating any more than she had made her queazy. "And Thank you." She added in as polite a manner as she could extend. Setara got up with a wince & a sharp intake of breath as part of the wound on her side split slightly, hobbling over to her knapsack & back again to where she had been pearched. She looked over at a bowl of soup & was of two minds about eating it. Part of her wanted to eat & appease her hunger, the other part would not stomach it for guilt. The nomad ran her hand along the rough hemp surface of her knapsack & opened it carefully with her unscathed limb. Taking out her sketchbook & a rather thin piece of what looked to be some sort of charcoal (though certainly far less messy), Setara tore out a page & began to write, though her words appeared jumbled from fatigue. She prided herself on having neat legible handwriting as it was something that few nomads could say they had.
After only a minute or two, Setara could write no more. Her stomach demanded sustenance regardless of how sickly she felt & the nomad was eating quietly before long. Setara could not finish the bowl given how little she was used to eating, but she felt at least a little better. She peered down at the wound on her side & stood up abruptly, catching the crimson line afore the flow of blood could stain the bedsheets she was sat on. "Pardon Ma'am..." She adressed either maid sheepishly, holding her hand to her side. "Could I possibly have a towel?" Setara asked, finding it a litle difficult to keep her balance. Part of her felt awkward for seeming needy & would rather have suffered in silence.

"yes, of course ...miss.." The one who was cleaning Matta's hair said. She then caught sight of the crimson as she reached for one of the towel and gave a bit of a start.
"Oh my!" Shuffling away from Matta and the other nurse-maid, she snatched up a clean basin of water and a bunch of bandages. Once arriving at Setara's side, she quickly dunked on of the bandages in the water, then wrung it out. She shooed setara's hand away from the wound, stripped away the makeshift bandaging Matta had done, and pressed the cool damp cloth against it. she cleaned up the wound, catching most of the blood in the process, with a gentle dabbing. Dab, dab, dunk, wring, dab, dab. She was very rhythmatic in her work. She clucked her tongue a couple times as she assessed the wound.
"You both should have been brought to us immediately." She pulled out a jar of salve, smeared a thick handful of it over the wound on Setara's side. The substance was an ill-smelling thick goo. But it did it's job of containing the wound. The woman then made short work of wrapping the wound in a clean linen bandage. She then grabbed one of the last basin's filled with clean water as the one she was using was deeply red. Cracking the door open, she barked an order out the door that they needed more fresh water and bandages, and made her way back to Setara.
"Let's see where else you've been injured." She looked over the younger nomadic girl. She nodded a little, the began work on the gash in Setara's leg. She continued in the rhythm she had earlier, not even breaking slightly to thank the younger boys who entered and set down basins of fresh water and clean bandages. They stayed only a moment watching the older woman, then scooped up the used basins and scurried out. The door closed with a light click, and the woman again reached for the jar filled with the ill-smelling salve. She applied it on the gash in a similar fashion, then wrapped it as well in a clean linen bandage.
"Now... besides some scrapes, we just need to take a look at that head."

Setara was rather taken aback at the concern of the nursemaid & also rather enthralled by the pace & unmistakeable rythm that she worked at the clean Setara's wounds. The young nomad nodded dumbly as she bent her head to let the nursemaid check over her head, most likely the most painful blow that she had recieved. Setara had not thought too check it over in her dizzy state & realised that should most probably should have done so. "I am sure it was just a square blow. Hardly anything to fuss over." Setara commented quietly. She was not used to being asked how she was & fussed over.

The older woman clicked her tongue in disapproval as hearing Setara call her wound nothing. She then proceeded to gently clean up the blow to the head that Setara has recieved.
"Honestly. What were you Nomads thinking, fighting in the middle of a crowd?" Obvious disdain laced her voice.

Setara decided to correct her, but gently. "You would be an incorrect term Ma'am....that would be reffering to the group involved & myself collectively." She began rather quietly yet honestly as she was rather inclined to defend herself. "I had no quarrel with them & struck no blows Ma'am, I was just out minding my own business..." the last part being said bitterly, as though she too felt the disdain for the events the previous day. She looked at the nurse & studied her face for a few moments to gague her reaction & added an afterthought. "There are a few of us that dont think like the group & like to talk things over like adults...rather than fight like immature children." Setara's voice was tainted with contempt, mainly for herself as she knew that had she refused to go wandering with Matta the previous day, not one of those awful & childish blows would have been struck nor would have the awful prospect of her family being punished arisen. "What think you Ma'am?" Setara asked curiously. "Or am I to know that you feel contempt for us no matter what our disposition..& I say that in the best of respects Ma'am..."
