Laura went through the hall way and then into her room checking every window as she passed. When she got to her room she locked the door then bit her lip and unlocked it. "Just in case." She mumbled. She sat on her bed checking her bedroom window for any signs of him then dark corners then her own closet. She laid back on the bed her head on her soft pillow. "Get a hold of yourself Laura. You've been through a lot worse than this." She told herself.

[G]u@r|)ian  He opened his eyes. "Laura... may I ask a favor of you... a request as payment if you will?" His voice was different from the rest of the time he had been in the house. Almost... shaky. He awaited a response, and tightened his fist.

Laura sat up on her bed. "What?" She asked confused and worried at the same time. "I didn't do anything did I?" She asked thinking back to after they had apologized. She didn't make any harsh comments and no pranks so what was wrong with him?

[G]u@r|)ian "When the time finally comes... I want... " He walked over to her room, wanting to talk to her face to face. He stood at her bed, not wanting to sit down. "...you to kill Austin." He said, slowly looking up at her.

"...you to kill Austin." He said, slowly looking up at her. "What?" Laura asked now sitting up at the side of her bed. "NO! NO! NO! That's your job. Your the vampire slayer you're suppose to do it!" She told him angrily. How could he even ask this of her. He knew what the consequences were if she were to fight the vampire, it would put her under it's spell and she'd be as good as his.

[G]u@r|)ian Although he did not have a sad face on, he looked up at her and shed a single tear. It slowly ran down his face, then dropped to the floor. "I know it's alot to ask but... I just... I can't do it... it's been eighty years and I still can't bring myself to kill him..." Another tear came, this time from the right eye. "He's my brother Laura... I just... I..." He tilted his head, looking at the floor in shame.

Laura couldn't believe her ears. "Then what was the point in hiring you?" She asked. "I can't kill him! How am I even suppose to protect myself when he has me under his trance!?" She asked her voice growing louder.

He wipped away his tears and got closer to her, whispering to her in her ear like it was a seceret. "I can weaken him for you... disable him, you might say... but... you'll have to make the final blow..."

Laura bit her lip in frustration. "Fine." She finally said. "But only if that does happen and if i have the chance...I will do it." Laura told him. she didn't have a problem with killing the enemy. Actually she would be over joyed to kill a vampire after what happened to her parents but now that she had told Austin she would the pressure was only piling over it self.

linzDAC Hayden stood up rather hastily. "Laura who are you gonna kill? Who is Austin?" she asked. Laura looked up at her sister surprised forgetting she was there. "No one Hayden." She lied to her sister calmly. "Now sit back down." She told her sister pointing to the couch.

Hayden wanted to shout but kept her voice calm. "Laura, it's not like im 3 years old, I can understand what is going on, Im not even e year younger then you. And it you can't treat me like a equal, then I'm leaving!" her voice was shaky as if she was holding back sobs, but she did not yell.

He walked over and comfortingly put his hand on Hayden's shoulder. "Laura, we know something is going on," he said. "Whatever you're involved in, you cant go through it alone. You're only going to get yourself killed."

Laura looked at the two and sighed. "It's nothing...Just that vampire is after me...and...Dimitri was just telling me how...to...to defend myself." She lied giving them the half truth. "But it's no big deal! I got it all under control." She told them with a smile.
