 Nicholas Christian WinterNick slightly frowned when Raen said his whole name. That meant that she was going to force it out of him and he was trying to make it seem like he had nothing to hide but she always knew when he lied. "I was just..." Nick started to say as he looked away, trying to find something else to talk about but there was nothing else. "I was thinking about you father...When you smiled, I wish you could smile like that always but I knew you couldn't because of what your father did to you." Nick told her. He hoped the topic of her father wouldn't bother her. He couldn't care to see her cry or for sadness to fill her eyes.

Raen Lee Jones  Raen sighed slightly, and nodded. She went over to a window that was in the kitchen, leaned against it, and looked out. She was silent for a few minutes, just thinking. She then sighed, and looked Nick right in the eyes. "Listen, Nick, you've gotta stop worrying so much about that. I'm away from him now, and he doesn't even know where I am. Plus, he doesn't care enough to go looking for me. He wanted me dead, and this is the next best thing for him. I really doubt he even notices that I'm gone. So, you'll probably be seeing that smile more often." She stated, nodding.

Nicholas Christian WinterNick held his breath as he watched Raen silently walk over to the window and stand there for a while. 'I shouldn't have said anything.' he though to himself, looking down at the ground. Nick quickly looked back up when he saw Raen look over at him. His eyes stared into her eyes as she spoke.
The first few sentences Raen said started to make Nick mad all over again but by time she finished he had calmed down and smiled. She was right, he father wasn't here anymore and without him here that meant that she'd be able to smile like that more often. "I guess you're right." Nick said, still sorry he brought it up. He should have thought of that in the first place.

Raen Lee Jones Raen smiled at him again, rolling her eyes, sarcastically. "When are you gonna get it through your head that I'm always about 70 percent right about these things?" She said, grinning at him, to make sure he knew that she was kidding. Oddly, instead of worked up about talking about her father, she was actually okay with it. But not okay with it enough to tell the others. Not yet.
She sighed happily, and leaned against the window. "You know... I've been hiding in the shadows for all my life, and I just realized something. Just because of someone's past doesn't make them incapable of doing what they want to do in their life. And I'm going to do something with my life. I'm not just going to stand in the back and wait for an oppertunity to come to me. And I'm going to make sure my damn father realizes that no matter how much pain he caused me, that it didn't break my spirit. I'm going to make him sorry for everything he's done to me. I'm..." She paused. "I'm going to make him proud to have me as a daughter." She said, firmly.
Rae wasn't even sure why she just poured all that out, and when she realized that she did, well... Needless to say that she was a bit embarrassed. "Yeah... Sorry about that... Just kind of slipped out." She said, shrugging.

Nicholas Christian WinterNick smiled and then shook his head when Raen said sorry. "There's no reason to apologize. I'm glad you're telling me these things now." Nick told Raen. He hated being in the dark when it came to his friends. With Raen it seemed like she knew everything about him but all this time he knew nothing about her. He was glad that she was finally opening up and telling him how she feels and what was bothering her. He wanted to be the friend she was to him.
As for going somewhere with singing, he wanted to do the same, make it big but he didn't know how. When he was younger he never thought about being a famous singer because he could never figure out a way to be seen but now he was going to search for a way to be seen. He still didn't know how but the opening tonigh could help a lot. Who knows who might be there listening to them on the opening night?

Raen Lee Jones Raen smiled at Nick. "Yeah.... I've never really opened up to someone like I am right now to you. I guess its because I'm used to taking care of myself for so long that I don't depend on people as much as I should." She stated, trying to make sense of why she never told anyone this. She looked down at the ground for a moment, then looked up again, smiling at him. It was so easy to talk to Nick, actually, and it seemed to help her. Her smile faded slightly, as she decided to tell him something that she was even afraid to tell herself."I've been so alone all these years, you know, not telling anyone anything, that I've been cut off from everything. Sometimes... Sometimes I just can't feel any emotions, except for sadness, and mostly anger. And then... I just don't let anyone get near me for days, just in case I break down. I'm afraid to let anyone see me being weak like that. And I guess thats why I haven't really let anyone get close to my heart, except for you, and the others. And.. While I was having one of my break downs, I got out of control, and well... I did this..." She walked over to the sink, turned on the water, and put her left wrist under the running water. Sure enough, after a few momens, a series of cuts could be seen along her wrist. She sighed, going over to Nick, and showing it to him."It was only one time, and I just... I couldn't control myself. But I feel like... I could do it again, if I lost control of my emotions again. And I can't let them out easily. I mean, I want to, but I just can't." Raen looked down at the ground, head bowed, and her hair veiling her face. "I... I need help." She almost whispered. She had never admitted that she needed help to anyone. Not even herself. But now.. She realized that she needed help.

Nicholas Christian WinterNick listened to Raen closely and watched as she walked over to the sink and then turned on the water. He didn't know what to expect but he surely wasn't expecting what Raen was about to show him. He watched as she placed her wrist under the water, washing away the make-up she had put there to hide it, and then saw the small series of cuts. Nick's eyes slightly widened but he said nothing for the time being. He let her finished before he commented on anything.
The truth was, he stayed quiet because he didn't know what to say. He never knew how someone could cut themselves like that and say that it relieved stress. He'd always thought those people were crazy but maybe he thought that way because he never bothered to put himself in their shoes. In Raen's situation, he kind of understood why she would cut herself since she never told anyone her feelings and held it all inside. He figured that she cut herself to relieve all the stress of the world and all the feelings she let boil up inside. Even though he understood, kind of, why she was doing it, he still knew she shouldn't be and he wanted to stop her from doing it.
"Don't worry, I'll help you." Nick told Raen as he gently grabbed her arm and kissed her wrist were the cuts were. "Before you had no one to talk to but now you have me. Whenever you feel like you can't take it anymore or you can't control your emotions just tell me and we can talk it out."

Raen Lee Jones Rae watched as he at first said nothing, and she began to be afraid. He hates me for doing it... She thought to herself, still looking down at the ground. She felt so ashamed for doing it, but she hadn't had any control over herself. But this was the first and last time she would do it, if she could help it. And if she couldn't... She didn't know what she would do to herself. She shivered as she thought of cutting herself too deeply and killing herself. But she couldn't kill herself. ... Could she? Oh Lord.... I could kill myself by accident if I lost control again.... She thought, and it made her eyes widen.
Her head snapped up as Nick spoke. She gave a small sigh of relief as he didn't seem to hate her for doing it. She blinked as he kissed her wrist and told her that she could talk to him. And he would help her. That alone gave her all the happiness that she had ever felt in her life. With a shaky sigh, she threw her arms around his neck, in a hug, and whispered in his ear, "Thank you." She then released him and took a step back, smiling slightly.

Nicholas Christian WinterNick smiled as Raen hugged him and he quickly hugged her back before she pulled away and took a few steps back. Seeing the rare smile again was enough to make him cheer. He was glad that he could be as much help as Raen had been to him for a while. Nick would have loved to stare at Raen forever but for some reason he was getting the urge to look at the time.
Nick glanced over at the time to notice it getting pretty late. The opening night was growing nearer and nearer and he was really starting to get nervous about it. "It's almost time." he said to Raen with a smile. He wondered if she was getting as nervous as he was.

Raen Lee Jones Rae's smile grew as she looked at Nick. She really did love him very much, and was so glad to have him around. Without him... Well, Raen probably wouldn't be there right now, on her own decision. He alone had been the reason that she had decided to hold on. And as she grew older, all of her friends became very important. But.. Nick most of all, for some reason. She realized, as he looked at the time, that they had been standing in that kitchen for a long time.
She glanced at the clock as well, and for the first time in... Forever, her eyes kind of lit up. A crazy little grin placed itself on her lips. She had only done that grin once, and that was when she had been in the hospital for cutting herself. She had told her friends that she had needed IVs. She had been so out of it from the medicine that they had given her, that she took the clipboard and pen right from the doctor and drew a small smiley face on the paper. And she had grinned so crazily, like she was right now, that the doctor had to grin back and laugh.
When she was in one of her good moods, Rae could get almost anyone to smile and laugh. And now, a seriously crazy and hyper mood was filling her up. She was so excited. "Hmm.. Yeah, it is..." Her voice was calm and serene, totally different from the crazy grin still on her lips. They were totally going to rock tonight. She could already tell.

Nicholas Christian WinterNick looked from the time and then at Raen to see that crazy grin on her face. He raised an eyebrow at her before slightly laughing. "What's up with that grin?" Nick asked her with a smile. "I looks like you're planning something evil, something that only you know about. Or maybe that's just the grin you make when you're excited." Nick added and then slightly shrugged. He was glad to see her so happy. He never realized how unhappy Raen had been before. ((Eck...it's short. xD))

Raen Lee Jones As Nick brought up her crazy grin, Raen blinked, then realized what her facial expression must be. She simply shrugged when he tried to guess at what the grin was for. And to tell the truth, Rae herself wasn't too sure either. But she kept it on her face. "Maybe... Maybe not..." She said, mysteriously, and shifting her eyes about. Her eyes widened, and the crazy grin grew bigger. "Imma go off to my... Secret lair." She stated, giggling slightly. After a pause, she ran to her room, jumped, flew through the air, and landed on her bed, in one smooth movement. She grabbed her notebook, and began to write quickly, her writing spark coming back, slightly.

Nicholas Christian Winter"Oh, mysterious are we." Nick said with a grin and then blinked when Raen said that she was going to her secret lair. "Hey wait! Don't I get to come to your secret lair!?" Nick yelled but it was too late, Raen had ran into her room and jumped on her bed by time he yelled this. "How rude." he quietly said with a sigh. He then glanced at the time once more before walking over to his room. As he passed Raen he glanced inside to see her writing away in her notebook. At firs he thought that maybe it was a journal or something but then it hit him that it was her notebook for lyrics. 'Duh!' Nick thought to himself as he walked into his room. Which would explain why she ran off like that. It is hard to think of lyrics and when you suddenly think of something you have to write it down right away or else you'd forget it.

Raen Lee Jones She grinned slightly, as she could still hear Nick. "Yeah, you can come into my secret lair!" She yelled out to him, closing her notebook with what she had written down in it, and putting it away in her drawer. With a happy sigh, she flopped back on her bed, staring at the ceiling.

Nicholas Christian Winter"Really?" Nick said as he rose his eyebrow and slowly walked over to her door and then opened the door all the way and walked inside. "Hmmm, your secret lair looks a lot like a bedroom." Nick said with a smile. He glanced around her bedroom before sitting beside her on her bed. He was wandering where the notebook she was writing in was but he guessed she hid it before he came in. ((Same here.))
