"Tell them you care about them, and they become yours. Tell them you need help, they give it. Only a few more steps before they are just pawns for your success. How many have died over the years for you? Probably more than I killed in my reign."

"Fine, then dont believe in your own feelings. But at least give us the credit of our own. Its my choice to stand here and tell you that we can help, not my command to do so, for me I only met you yesterday. Im here because I love you, in just such a short time, I know I cant let you be so hurt."

"I am not Rakka Nelphean! You're Rakka wouldn't dare treat you like this! She would never never treat you as anything less than what you are! She was different from me Nelphean! You're Rakka was better and knew better than I!" She closed her eyes and shook her head harshly. What success do I have left?! I live in the middle of nowhere way past my expiration date! You call that success! Take your soul back to Ammit's food bowl and leave me!. Her attention back to Saradin. Who seemed almost offended at her words before. " It's not that I don't, but that I am scared to!" Now Saradin was the one making more sense. True, he had started his life over, but here she was practically trying to make him leave but he still stood fast. "Love me Saradin?" The crying started again. "Don't say that..." She didn't want to lose someone else because of that damned word.

"Cymarron would Hunt for you, becuase you are his Den Mother. you gave Cymarron a home, and you came for him when you coudl have left him behind. you risked yourself for me. that is a love between packmates. the bonds of family that do not break so easily."

He moved to her, and sat down in front of her.

"your romantic loves may have not gone well, but that does not mean you do not know how to love. You have many here that you could do away with at a whim, including Cymarron..or the spirits that are here. do you cast them away, banish them to the Grey fields? no. becuase they are family, the pack, and you love them. Why did you shed tears for Saradin when you knew his fate? becuase he was loved by you. why do you shed tears to find Nailah had left? becuase you loved her. You give out dreams and hopes like they are candy. You know how to love. you have great loves. you just do not see it as those around you do. We are here because we love you, and when you suffer, we suffer."

"I never said you were." The elf said slowly, truthfully. "You assumed I was talking about my deceased friend, who shares your gentic code... No, Aurahkah, who did I spend the last few days with, greiving from my lost." He walked away.

"We all love you Aurah. You are the closest thing to family that most of us have. Whether you accept it or not, in our strange ways we all care about you and want only the best, even Niah who ran off. She'll come running back soon, and do her damnest too to make things right."

"Of course he doesnt LOVE you Aurahkah. Who would? The Watcher probably, but you drove him off. Good for you, he was a drain on your control anyways."

Her gaze dropped down to Cymarron who ventured closer to her. Every time she started to doubt, those in front of her were there trying to prove her words wrong...actually making sense of what she spoke then correcting it. Eyes back to Saradin. Family, that part spoke true. She knew they loved her as family, just as she had loved the Rayner bloodline as her family. "You say that so sternly, and only you can claim a few days from here...you speak so easily what you see as truth." Her hands raised to lace into her hair and hold her head as if trying to ward away something unwanted. You've made your point...my Pharaoh. You've proved that I can't have what I most want and when I think I have it, it leaves.

"Youre right, I dont have the experience to know anything about it. But I do know myself, and I call them as I see them. And theres always a way out, no matter how hard it is to find, you just need the strength to find it."

The Pharaoh licked his lips at the thought of being called 'MY Pharaoh' again and drew closer to her, almost touching her, and in her mind making her feel like he was really so close to whisper in her ear. "Of course... I loved you. Your body mostly, but just look at how cruel youve become. Its like I already have you even as I scream in agony deep in stinking depths of hell, I cant wait until I get to see you there myself. Vincent's close friend Llolth would be glad to keep you with me... Im sure Ammet wont mind giving up one tiny meal." Even the scent of his breath seemed to wash over her face as he spoke, and the touch of his lips barely grazing her ear.

Aura started to hyperventilate for seemingly no reason, her eyes widening slightly. "You always...talk like that...Saradin." Hard to think. Flash back. She shook her head again. I'm not stupid...I know you know not even the concept of love. Another shake of her head as she stood there, hands dropping from her head as she swayed slightly where she stood, eyes sliding shut halfway. "No matter....how...many times you lead....me into danger...I can't help but trust you...on everything." If that's the hell I would share with you...I'd prefer to stay in the one here. My own self created living hell. Her head lolled forward slightly. She opened her mouth to say something, but that sentence never had a chance as her eyes fluttered shut and she fell forward, hitting the ground hard. Her mind so did welcome that sweet oblivion of blacking out.

((Look, tis a Niah exit. Whee! Anyway, we can torture me more tomorrow. Night guys.))

"I will have you soon." The last words that echoed through her mind as even he now blurred out and was gone with no more mind to exist in.

"Just how much trouble have I brought, or led into, or done?" Saradin was left asking himself as he stared at her lying there. But he didnt ponder long, there was a woman face down in the dirt. It was his most natural reaction help her up by lifting her into his arms, holding her Soulforge aside in one hand. "And seems I havent changed enough to speak any differently." There holding her, he didnt know what to do so turned to someone else standing there. "Does anyone know where her room is? She needs rest." Then quietly to himself, "I told you thinking too hard would just give you a headache..."

"Cymarron's Den is closer. it may not be as..comfortable as her den, but it is well foritifed against spirits and others such things. and is closer."

He pointed to a tunnel in the courtyard, looking much like a rabbit hole by this point.

"Cymarron would not lay a finger on the Den Mother. and nothing will come inside Cymarron's den if it wants to keep it's life while the she rests there."

"Rakka told me where her room was, I assume Aurahkah hasn't moved it since then." Nelphean said from around the corner. "I think her familiar surrounding would help keep her calm."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 13, 2005 9:45 pm

"Thank you Cymarron, but I think the only thing she needs to worry about hurting her is herself right now. She's safe in her own room, and as Nelphean said, it may comfort her." Saradin wasted no time, following Nelphean's guidance and going into the manor, laying Aurahkah down on her bed. He stood there for one brief minute, eyes closed and praying for her safety before walking out slowly and returning to his own room and shut the door behind him. Where he collapsed.

Nelphean stood by the door, long after Saradin left. "He's a keeper... Can I keep his liver?" He asked his long gone friend. "Yes, I can can't I." Nelphean stood by the door, and guarded.

((Yeah: sick of doing this against his nature: night))

Nailah stared at herself in horror. "Bare as the day I was born..." she muttered. What once qualified as a dress could no longer carry the term. She had on what she believed to be a skirt and a scrap of cloth. The skirt, if it could be called that had been hacked off to at least three inches above her knees and a tear in the side showed even more skin. Her bronze stomach was out there for all to see and she glared at what the innkeeper's wife called a shirt. It was nothing more than the bodice of her dress mangled and torn horribly. The dress had been suitable if not the tiniest bit revealing, now it was ripped straight down the center hinting at her curves. It ended far too high for her own liking but as she had been told it was the uniform. "Bullshit."

The innkeeper's wife was a pinched and haggard woman who had by the looks of her one foot in the grave. She had said little to Niah, simply began ripping and tearing at her clothes. Niah grabbed her bag and looked inside sighing with relief when she saw she had packed herself two other dresses. At least in a few days she could feel like a lady again. She made her way back out to the inn's main room barely resisiting the urge to cover herself from the lecherous eyes. Walking over she stood there in silence as the innkeeper's eyes traveled her form and then assumed by his stupid grin that she would do.

Dobbs grinned. She was going to make him quite a bit of money. Alicia had been pretty much used up, he thought in disgust. Damn his daughter. She had to go sell herself to every Tom, d**k, and Harry who came in. Now he needed a fresh face. And that's exactly what this girl was. He wondered briefly if she had any family. Family was bad. They could come and get her. She didn't look like she was old enough to be out on her own yet. He'd have to see what he could learn. He handed her a tray and pointed. "Name's Dobbs. If anyone doesn't pay, ye make em come see me. What's yer name anyhow?"

Niah looked at him and swiftly thought. "Merre." THat would do. It was Zeldy's sister's name but he would never know that.

He nodded and said "Go on wit ye. Git to work."

Niah sighed and took the tray then she pasted a smile on her face and went off to take the men's orders.

Aura lay still in her bed, having the look of being dead, save for her breathing telling the truth. Calm on the outside, a storm raged on the inside.
"You could...end it all. You don't have to put yourself through this."
"Hm, how?"
"Have you forgotten silly? You're bracelet. One quick slip and this wonderful darkness can be yours forever more."
"But my soul..."
"So what if it will go to hell? You'll be free from here."
"In hell? With all the people whom I've sent there to keep me company? I'd rather-""Rather what? Suffer here rather than there? Watch your family crumble? Come now. You have a nice grave dug out back, go to it, slip off the gold that keeps you here, and poof! All troubles melt away."
"You make it sound so easy."
"It is just that easy."

Aura whimpered once in her sleep.
