*wanders in, sits down*
well... last night was the full moon. I won't get to celebrate until tonight since I had a family gathering last night, but I was wondering.
How do y'all celebrate esbats? I don't think we've ever discussed it...

I rarely get to celebrate as I work two jobs and such. Even before that, school was like a job or three, so no time. ever. For anything. When I get a chance, I like to light a candle or two and meditate or have a nice, long talk with my familiars on full moons and holidays. This summer, I'm going to ask for solstice off if its not to late.

I can't do much, since I usually work evenings or midnight shift. But I always try to sit outside at break and contemplate the moon if I can see it.

I'm usually able to do a ritual since no one bothers me in my room, and I'm home alone right now ( I just finished my ritual). I usually just do a circle, read the charge, and meditate. Then pull a random tarot card to tell me about the next four weeks. Then write down things I'd like to see gone or resolved in the next four weeks on little strips of paper, and burn them in my cauldron. Then cakes and ale (usually with random food and drink from my kitchen lol) and closing out the circle.

Well, I get nearly no privacy in my home.....so I can't really do much for the esbats. Whenever my mother knows it's a full moon, she eyes me like a hawk to make sure I don't do anything. Same with the high and low holidays.....she bought a book just so she'd know when they were. :-/
On another subject.....anyone know a good way to heal sunburn....FAST?! crying This weekend I got so burnt at 6 flags!!!! Well, everyone did, really, except the boyfriend.....he's already tan. xp

Lots of aloe vera! But, it makes you all oily. That's what my siblings had to use when they got super sunburned. o.o Not much too do but wait for it all to peel and the hope you don't get skin cancer from the burn in 20 years. xd sweatdrop
That is why I stay out of the sun. o.o My skin is way too fair for me to be outside most days. sweatdrop Although, I was told at work by a nurse there's an SPF 50 designed for people as pale as me. xD sweatdrop [I had a mini skin care lesson with a nurse the other day at work...don't ask. sweatdrop ]

I have SPF 65. Cuz I'm of Irish decent. I burn like no other.
What always works to make the sunburn stop HURTING for me was to take a hot bath. It hurts like no other when you first get in, but by the time you get out, your burn doesn't hurt and the pain usually doesn't come back. Actually getting the burn to go away? Lots and lots of lotion preferably cantaining Aloe Vera. Cuz sunburn is just your skin cells getting fried, you need to put the moisture back in it.
Also, Avon's Skin So Soft bath stuff does wonders for a sunburn. Got rid of one of my worst burns in a few days. I wish I still had some! lol.
