Why is it that people think that one can breed different monsters together to create super-monsters? Don't they realize that such a thing is nearly impossible on a chromosomal level? And even if it was possible, why do they expect the resulting pile of DNA to have all the strengths of the parent monsters and none of the weaknesses? On a side-note, why are demons so popular as subjects for cross breeding? Does making something a half-demon make it somehow inherently better? Wouldn't it be a bad idea to try and add demon DNA to your creatures anyway because of a demon's inherently rebellious nature?

Wouldn't it be a bad idea to try and add demon DNA to your creatures anyway because of a demon's inherently rebellious nature? interestingly enough I"m not even entirely certain that demons, real demons that is, even HAVE DNA. Vampires are "demons" but really what makes them demons is the part that is entirely not human, but rather some kind of demonic presense within what is basically a human shell, so in all reality logic would demand that a vampire's offspring, if it were able to reproduce, and some data i've seen indicates that the humping is one of the first things to go when you die, its child ought to be basically human. Anyhoot- the sheer mechanics of a demon-not demon pairing boggle my mind. Have you seen these things?? They're HUUUUUGE.

Jon-OH Anyhoot- the sheer mechanics of a demon-not demon pairing boggle my mind. Have you seen these things?? They're HUUUUUGE. Apparently it's becoming a popular pastime for young college girls. Go over to Barton and see if you can get a head count of half demons running around. I lost count and I can wisp up more fingers than a hand should normally have.

There should be a PSA or something warning people that making it with a demon just isn't a good idea.

Granted, I should imagine "let" vary rarely has anything to do with when a demon reproduces.

Also what I find disturbing is the rampant growth of half-cainine demons. Is that something that a kid should really be born into? "Yeah, my mom's human, but my dad's that big fire breathing dog over there."

what I wonder is how it is that a person who manages to be half dog-demon doesn't kill theirselves? or someone else does it first.
humans wouldn't want anything to do with it, shape-shifting or no, and demons would probably just torment the poor thing.

My point exactly. People need to see that what they are doing is creating offspring that will suffer. Children shouldn't have to spend a lifetime in torment because their parents liked the thrill of skirting with danger and sleeping with the damned.

Thad: I can't let a dead horse lie- it's one of my flaws and I have no idea how to change it so the fastest way for this to end is for you to stop saying things I have an oppinion about. I know it's really annoying but it's like the decision to keep doing this has been made before I had a say in it.
What was backhanded about it? I try to be clear about what I think about people- to be any clearer I'd have to say, "I think you only bother to say anything to me when it's to tell me that I'm wrong about something that hadn't been defined yet."
I'm actually not very open minded, as you should be able to see from how stubborn I am. Anyway, when did I say that willpower was a bad thing? And it's not like I said that you had to choose between a closed mind or having no willpower- I'm as cocky and arrogant as I am because I haven't reached the limits of my willpower since I was in elementary. -oh, and I agree with that last bit about weighing everything before the best path becomes clear but it seems really out of place with everything else you've said.
stressed When did we restrict mind control to psionics? If anything that popular notion of governmental scale mind control is that it's done though putting certain chemicals in the water or through waves from satelites or whatever.
That sort of thing happens with a variety of syndromes as well but I don't know the names. Either way I'm telling you that the brain has chemicals there to specifically not allow memory formation, and if it's possible that you have periods of time you can't remember you can't be accurately sure that you haven't had your senses tamperred with.
You ought to have enough willpower that that sort of thing wouldn't be a problem...
Banshi+Jon: Well, I think that this halfbreed stuff comes from the notion that beyond genetics there's some kind of soul inheritance from the parents.
Kids these days do have terrible taste though.
This reminds me of that stuff from about a year ago with that other guild- the head werewolf-vapire guy was being gross with a harpy so I made a picture of what the offspring would look like. Good times-

Sho -- We're done talking about it. This isn't a democracy and I don't care if you have opinions on things. This is Jon's thread, and he wanted to change topics. You will respect that. If you post on that line of conversation again, even to comment on the fact that I'm telling you to shut it, I will just delete your post and continue on with whatever was already going on in the thread. The only reason I haven't deleted your rebuttal is the fact that doing so without warning would be rude. 'Do unto others' and all that. Banshi -- we have noticed that there are too many cross-breeded monsters, and there was a PSA about it. It was titled How to Avoid Getting Yourself Killed and currently makes it's home on the second page of our PSA thread here in the guild. It touched on many of the mistakes that novice monster slayers make in the field. Including thinking that they are some king of super-hybrid-thing. Most of those abominations are just crazy. And Jared's fault. Jon -- What if the bullets weren't actually fired out of their head, but were instead projected from dimensional apertures in the person's eyes that were connected to the dimension of perpetual bullets? Y'know... like the dimension of perpetual, red, concussive force. ninja

Oh, and demons being huge isn't so much of a problem with the inter-breeding, because there are demons of all shapes and sizes. Like ant-lions or ambulatory potatoes. Those are just examples. There are more. And they have tiny dicks. Hahahahaha! Actaully, I don't usually measure demon d**k, but p***s size jokes are supposedly very insulting, in accordance to human culture. That's a burn, demons. Oh, snap. But yeah, things that aren't the same species can't breed. ninja
