Enub!a Jazelle blinked. “Aye…Deschain…that’d be me last name. Why?” She tilted her head to the side. John, again obliged by his conscience decided to tell Jazelle of the threatening man who had just been in the pub."There was a man, lookin' you...like Miss Goblin says, he says you deserve death..."

"Well, I suppose that would be alright. I was in need of one more glass, so I was going to do it anyhow, but if you insist.... be my guest. Thank You, Master Korisama"
*A little later, he finished his breakfast. Folding his napkin and placing it over his empty plate, Kurisutofa downed his glass of orange juice. Overhearing Miss Gunn's comment to her young girl, he stared straight forward with curiosity:
Sammap? Dead? No, it couldn't be... from what? The man had trouble telling his right from his left, but that didn't mean he couldn't care for himsel' and others. What had caused his death? Zammap would need help with this child. As Governess, there were certain duties that 5ammap would not be present for. A caretaker of some sort: that's what the child shall need.
Deciding to put to out of his mind for the present moment, he grabbed the firepoker and stoked the fire until it was once again a glowing crimson. Picking up his plates, he removed himself from his seat and slowly walked to the kitchen. He didn't look up, because he was having a hard time not looking at the child.
Poor thing...
Placing his dirtied dishes in the washbin, he exited the kitchen. There towards the corner of the room, sat a young girl tht he'd not seen before.
Had a ship come in without his knowing? Doubtful. As Harbour Master & Port Authority, Kurisutofa would have been the first to know about new arrivals to the island. She must have come ashore alone...
Altering his course, he shifted two points and made landfall at the young girls table. Her head bowed, he walked up quietly and stood afore her, seemingly looming tall over the hunched over lass. As she shuddered, her tears ran down her closed hands; her face covered. She quietly sobbed.
Crouching down on one knee, he ran a hand over her long dark green hair. It had a familiar tone to it, he couldn't quite place where he'd seen it before, but he knew that it sparked something in his memory.*
"Shhh... Hush now, darling. Pray tell, what makes you shed so many tears as to try to fill the sea? If your not careful, you'll drown in sorrow, and all shall be lost."
*Pulling a handkerchief from his inner vest pocket, he handed it to her*
"Belay the saddness, Lass. As best you can. Now dry your tears, and tell Ol' Jack what troubles you."

Jazelle started at the mention of a large man looking for her, and her eyes widened, but quickly regained her composure. “I see…well, there’s more then a few people that want me dead…but I can only think of one that’d be lookin’ for me….did ‘e have short hair, looked kinda like a fire?” Despite her calm demure, her heart was pounding against her rib cage and her thoughts racing through her mind at an unbearable speed. Her hand unconsciously drifted to the hilt of her cutlass.

"Aye, that sounds right. The readhead wi' all the swords. He was frightenin'. Was he..." Goblin stops to think, scratching thoughtfully at the back of her head
Ah, hell, there's no way to make this sound gentler. Might's well just say it.
"... was he an old mate of yours?"

*Looking at the young girl, he watched in hatred of his own stupidity as Sammap walked into the room. As he passed, Jack's inner self-respect died a little as he realized what Miss Gunn had meant by 'Daddy'.
'Daddy... of course. That sod of a monkey, not Jewel's father. Damn my eyes...'
gonk
*Shiftng his thoughts back to the girl*
"So, what be your distress, Miss... I'm sorry, I don't believe I know your name. Let me introduce myself. I am Captain J. Kurisutofa, Master of the 24 Gun Brig 'Lady Washington', and Harbour Master of Provoka. Though I normally prefer to be called by my last name, I'll drop the formalities... you may call me, 'Jack'."

Still behind the counter, Gerard duPree was idly washing whatever dirty glasses were in sight. "I'll leave the plates 'n sort for the keeper." He said to himself under his breath.
Setting down the last of the glasses (now all clean after how long he'd been at his work), he turned toward Jill, who had been patiently waiting for the past twenty or so minutes, simply letting the time pass, as had duPree behind the counter. "I'm sorry. I never introduced myself. My name is Gerard. Gerard duPree. And who might you be? Oh, and don't trouble yourself about the drink. It was my pleasure."

Eventually the girl's sobs slowed and she regained enough of her composure to accept the handkerchief and look up the man who kneeled before her, the jolly fellow who had earlier spoken the name of Morgan. Up close, he looked familiar, more in the way that she had heard him described before than in the way of seeing him. She wiped tears from her eyes and, though still sniffling, managed to produce a small sad smile, gone in an instant but enough to let the man know she appreciated his care. Between sniffs, she produced an introduction.
"Thank you, Jack. I'm... Taipa Morgan. I came here in search of... my father. I think his name was... Robert... or something. Do you know anything of him, or is he the... late... Lord Morgan that you spoke of earlier?"
Speaking seems to have helped. Taipa sits up a bit straighter, and her cat is finally released from the deathgrip to sit on her lap, still comfortingly purring.

Jazelle balked. "Mate? Ye must be off yer rocker...'is name is Mordred and..." she grimaced. "He's my brother...my mutinizing, traitorus, brute of a brother." She sat down heavily in a chair. "That damn bird musta told him where I am..." she recalled from last night.

Goblin stifles a snort, and coughs.
"Mordred? Well, wi' a name like tha', he'd have to be an evil b*****d, eh? You should've been able to guss tha'."
She starts to laugh, but then remembers how easily this Mordred fella could hold a grown man off the floor...
"Hm. Well, Jazelle, are y' goin' ta' need help with this brother of yours? I know it's terribly uncouth t' get involved with family affairs, but he seems like... eh... well, like a bit of a handful."

She holds up her hands as if to illustrate. "but i don't know what's become of me old crew, they got boarded by th' royal navy but ol' Anne got me to safety afore them navy dogs got aboard."

Jazelle leaned back in her chair. “Yeah, I could see how I would seem crazy…but ya see, he’s not a MAN per-say. In fact, he used to ‘ave black hair, like mine. He won a sword competition in India and won a little bottle with red gas. Whilst we were on a ship in the midst of a storm…it fell off the shelf in the room where ‘e was working. Now ‘e’s like…a demon. He can SEE scents, he’s very strong, and has better hearing and eyesight than anyone in the world.” Now she turned to Goblin with a wry smile. “But he changed his name and ‘is identity. He used to be William, and ever since…’ She abruptly cut herself off. “A certain event…he’s been murderous. As for help…I just might need it, but it wouldn’t be wise.” She pushed off the ground and lifted the front two legs of the chair off the ground, now looking rather calm and relaxed. “No sense getting nice folks like you ‘urt in a battle that’s meant for me, no?”

"HA! THERE IT IS, PLAIN AS THE BLUE PETER ITSEL'."
*Spinning a chair from it's place, he took a seat backwards. His legs outstretched.*
"I had thought I'd smoked you as one of General Chatham's eight daughters, but then I realized that your hair was much to dark for one'r them lusty ladies. But then, at the name of Morgan and with your reaction and all, I had you pinned. So, your Morgan's girl, are you? His 'greatest treasure' to that of which none could compare... That rascal: always had some great bloody secret about him. But it seem's to me that you was the biggest of them all, young miss.
I am sad to say that I must take it upon myself to tell you that the late Lord Viceroy Morgan and Robert Morgan are one in the same. I know it's hard ot take, but I shall tell you of how he lost his life, but gave it to so many others:
Some months back, the High Council of Provoka, including myself seeing as how I hold claim to a seat in chambers as not only an expierenced Captain and Master of the 'Lady Washington', but also Harbour Master & Port Authority of Provoka and Master Shipright at Fiddler's Green Ship Chandlery.. we held a senate meeting to decide whether or not to dispatch a full battle fleet against a threatening Ninja Clan that had been rumored to hold great treasures, not particularly in the realm of gold, but other great sources of wealth.
So, thinking it the best idea, we set out in an Expedition Force consisting of the 'Sea Crow' of 12 guns led by Master Leon Wickit & the 'Lady Washington' of 24 guns captained by non-other than myself. After a weeks cruise, we made landfall upon the spithead just south of their Main Basecamp. Flanking about the camp on all sides, we descended upon their fortress like the plauge upon a ship of invalids. They fought valiantly, but in the end, we won the day...
Wait, Morgan missed that invasion...
Okay, so there we were minding our own business, when a rouge pirate crew made berth in the harbour during my absence, jumped ship and started to fire broadsides into Bridgetown. They were merciless, but unskilled. Killing everyone that they saw, they slaughtered their own kind and took no quarter. They were senseless in all aspects of the word.
Taking up arms, we fought them until their leader finally showed his pretty pampered head. After Miss Gunn overthere was finished showing off her dueling skills, I took him in turn and sliced his throat, and then proceeded in gutting the welp. Once he was dead, his crew turned to leave due to too many loses. Cutting them off, I sent a midshipman running with orders to the 'Lady Washington'. Carrying them out, Mr. Ilor had Miss Ares's Guncrew fire broadside after broadside into their transom-end. They raked them from stem to stern, and obliterated their beloved 'Queen Anne's Revenge'.
Now during this ordeal, your father, Lord Viceroy Dr. Robert Morgan took up arms against the scoundrels and held off as many as he could. Giving medical aid to those that would take it, and to some that probably didn't, Morgan saved their souls from Jones himsel', and continued the good fight. Unfortunatley, he fell in the midst of the cold blooded slaughter, a blade penatrating his gut from what I understand to be the truth. It might have been a pistol shot, I can't be too certain. I was by his side when he was struck down, but it all happend so fast... the man that affronted him was holding both weapons in his hands, and I didn't care how he'd done it. I shot the blagard in the chest, but I don't know what became of him.
I watched as Morgan fell, but hearing someone calling for me, I had to leave his side and aid the others that were still amongst the living... T'was always a shame that I was never to attend Master Morgan's burial. He was a good man, your father was. I am proud to have served with him. Equal to that of Nelson himsel'.
Now, as his daughter, you are more than welcome to anything that I may assist you with. My Ship, Home & Guardianship are at your disposal, my dear."
*Having stood up and paced about the room during the story, he now stod afore her once more, bowed with his hat held over his heart, his long hair tied back and hanging over his shoulder, nay.. dangling at his side: His hand outstretched as if to offer himself and his services.*
"Captain Jack Kurisutofa, at your service, Madame"
