Gwen urged Path into a canter enjoying his smooth stride. She was still kind of reluctant to have to break him into the harness. It would take away even more of his freedom and some of her time riding him.
Dawson smiled at Amy. He watched Gwen urging the large stallion into a canter. It warmed his heart, the joy that showed clearly in both horse and rider's faces, although there was still that hint of sadness in Path's eyes.
Aedan trotted timidly forward. "Wanna ply?"he asked softly glancing with fear at Kohona then back at Mira with soft eyes.

((Sorry for my disapperance. I'm now grounded from the comp so I won't be on long or very often. Sorry guys))
"Amy this is Commander Dawson. Sir this is Amy. She's helping with the horses." He seperated his attention between the mares and foals, Gwen and Path and Dawson and Amy. He was used to haveing to pay attention to more than one thing at a time so it didn't throw him off.
Konoha nickered warmly to Aedan, encourageing him. She gently nudged Mira forward.
Mira wobbled and looked back to her dam. She wasn't sure about the colt but took a few steps in his direction. She reached her muzzle out to him, trying to figure out who he was.

Commander Dawson shook Amy's hand. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must go back to work." he said before strolling away.
{2 months later}
Gwen pulled her jacket on as she left her house. She headed to the pasture where Aedan slept beside his dam. She leaned on the fence watching as the Fort began to wake up.

((Time skip! The foals are now two months old and are wandering farther from their dams. Winter has claimed the Fort. Commander Dawson and his troops have left the Fort, giving it a good report and taking along a few of the extra tamed wild horses.))
Cedric rolled over, tossing his arm over his face to block the sunlight. With the foals to take care of he had been busy and needed sleep. After a minute he stood and dressed, grabbing a mug of coffee before walking outside. He walked up behind Gwen, kissing her on the cheek. "Morning. Coffee?"
Konoha stood sleeping by Path, Mira asleep at their feet. She swished her tail, the change in sunlight had made her coat grow thick, making her take on a shaggy look.
Mira was curled in a ball at her parents feet. She was bigger now, but still looked like a foal. Her tail and mane were still short, though she had grown into her legs a bit.

Gwen smiled leaning back against Cedric's chest. "Nah. You need to get more sleep, love, you've been so busy lately." she said with a gentle smile turning to wrap her arms around his waist.
Aedan yawned rolling to his feet. He was growing into his legs and body nicely already showing strong features of his parents. He glanced at his sleeping mother than at Mira. "Ah man she is still asleep." he muttered.

Kalypso had slept standing up, one hind leg cocked into a relaxed position and his ears resting sideways. He opened an eye upon hearing Aedan awake and then snorted, forcing himself awake. He shook his body from head to tail and snorted, his breath turning to a visible puff in the cold winter air. He had shed his summer coat for his longer shaggier winter coat, but he lost none of his striking, graceful appearance to it. His forelock reached almost past his muzzle now, he had not allowed the groom near his face, but they had managed to clip his mane some, leaving it almost to his shoulders now. He snorted again, and pawed at the ground, hardened by the cold. He was used to the company of the foals now and even played with them sometimes. He yawned then greeted Aedan for the morning. "Morning, young Aedan." He said sleepily.

Aedan pawed the ground a bit. "Morning, Kalypso, Mira is still asleep. Wanna race? I betcha I could beat you this time." he snorted, trotting in a circle around Kalypso.

Kalypso smiled, he was fond of the colt. "You could try." He chuckled, pawing at the ground. He pivoted and trotted to the fenceline. "Ready?" He said, looking back at him with a mischevious look. He snorted, a visable cloud of breath puffing out of his nostrils in the cold winter air.

Ae'dan trotted to stand next to Kalypso. "I was born ready." he snorted tossing his short littler mane and prancing. His black and white coat gleamed and twitched as his developing muscles rippled beneath it.

Kalyspo smiled. "That's what I like to hear." He said and he gathered himself for a gallop. "3, 2, 1..." he said, half-rearing, "Go." He and bolted. He lengthened his stride and was flying around the pasture.

Ae'dan struggled to keep pace with Kalypso, but he was at a obvious disadvantage. He still tried, finally after wearing himself out he plopped down in the grass. He glanced in the direction of the still sleeping others. "Is Mira gonna wake up soon?" he muttered.

Kalypso slid to a halt, tossing his head. He smiled and trotted over to Ae'dan, chuckling. "Don't worry, you'll beat me someday. You're still younger than me, so don't worry about it." He said. He lowered his head to graze, standing beside the young colt.
