Koyuki brought Kioku some rice and tea in spite what she had said she smiled gently and set a cool glass of water down in front of her as well, "There you go Kioku-chan." she said softly. She turned hearing the padding of feet against the tatami, "mm..." she waited silently for whoever was to come.

I gently knocked on the soft, smooth paper door. Then I silently padded in,bowed, and said,"Hello,I am a new maid named Utada Kirana.Utada is my family name,"I paused to take a breath, then continued, "Is there a Koyuki-san here?A maiko I met in the hall told me that Koyuki-san was in here, and by the way she specified "Koyuki-san",I took that to mean that maybe if I had any troubles or questions I could ask her..." I took a slow, deep breath, then anxiously told my body to be still and calm as I waited for a reply.

Kioku nodded and bowed again. "Thankyou.." She said timidly and quietly as she waited and watched silently the exchange between the two women.

-.YuriAoi.- Yuri walked out of the okiya carrying boxes of her things to a rickshaw, when she saw new maids at the door. " Gomenasai." Yuri bowed humbly to the 2 new maids. " I am very sorry i can't stay and talk with you or help you right now I am moving into my onnesan's okiya for training." She slooked at them both with warm melcoming eyes" I can however tell you 'Welcome to the tsuchinnobara Okiya and I hope you enjoy your stay here as much as i did and also that I would love to see you all as geisha one day.' Koyuki-san is in the dining room if you are looking for someone." She bowed again and left the okiya on the rickshaw sorrow in her eyes as she left her home for a new one. 'Hajimemashite, maiko-san,' Shika replied, bowing low. Before she could bow and greet the other girl, the new maid walked off in search of a woman called Koyuki-san. Maybe I should follow, too, she thought. I can't keep sitting here in the hallway. As gracefully and as quietly as she could, Shika rose to her feet and padded down the hall after the new maid. (#2)

Shika waited until the maid (Kirana, she called herself) had finished her enquiry before kneeling at the open door and bowing low.
'Hajimemashite. I am also a new maid. Watashi no namae wa Kitao Shika desu. I apologise for interrupting, but may I ask where the maid's quarters are?'
Shika sat up straight, keeping her eyes lowered.

Koyuki smiled and stroked her hair slightly before turning back around. Silently she tilted her head as she watched the young maid blinking slightly as another came in beside her. The young woman moved long black silken strands from her face before smiling at them both.
"I am Koyuki what is it that I can do for you two?" she asked her voice smooth and welcoming.

'I am very honoured to meet you, Koyuki-san,' Shika replied softly, still staring at the floor. 'If it is not too much trouble, may I ask where the maid's quarters are, and if there are any tasks that you would like me to complete?'

"Oh why of course, I'll take you there." she looked over at Kirana and smiled, "Why don't you have a seat here." she told her going quickly and making her a cup of tea and a bowl of rice. She set it before her gently and bowed, "There just wait here, "i'll be back." Koyuki moved some hair out of her face as she went over to Shika, "alright Shika-chan, lets show you to your room ne?"

Shika rose to her feet as gracefully as she could before bowing deeply. 'Arigatoo gozaimasu, Koyuki-san.'
Koyuki-san is so kind, Shika thought. I wonder what my room will look like and who I will be sharing with.

Koyuki smiled, "Douitashimashite Shika-chan." she replied softly as she lead her down the hall. "So tell me, where are you from?"

'I was raised in a small farming village on the outskirts of Fukushima with my mother, father and little brother.' Shika answered quietly, as she followed Koyuki-san down the hall. She tried to imitate the way Koyuki-san walked: to Shika, it appeared as if Koyuki-san was floating across the floor. Maybe one day I will be as graceful as Koyuki-san, she thought with a small smile.

Glancing back at her she smiled, "Fukushima ne?" she stood at a door and knelt down like a doll barely making a sound. As she placed her pale hand, unusual for a japanese person, on the door sliding it open. "I've never been there...is it beautiful?"

'Yes...it is very beautiful, the sunsets are magical.' Shika said wistfully. She hadn't thought about her home for weeks, ever since she left her small house for the okiya. Now, she could see her parents and brother in her mind's eye. I miss them so much...
Before Koyuki-san noticed, Shika quickly brushed away a tear that was sliding down her cheek. You will see them again, Shika, she thought to herself. Just do your best and your parents will be proud of you.
'If I may ask, Koyuki-san,' Shika said with a small smile, trying to change the subject. 'Is it possible to learn how to be as graceful as you are? I have never seen a person float across the ground before.'

Koyuki listened making no noise when she took out the futon and the bed covers setting it up for her. She took out a maid's yukata unfolding it and getting it ready.
"Float across the ground?" She peered over at her the fabric in her delicate porcelain like hands Koyuki smiled motioning for her to come inside to get changed. "Of course its possible Shika-chan...anything is possible."

Padding softly into the room before kneeling down, Shika felt her smile grow wider in response to Koyuki-san's kind words. Maybe there is still hope for me to become a beautiful geisha...
Her eye's widened as they took in the yukata Koyuki-san held up in front of her. Shika, being used to rough farming clothes, thought it was wonderful. 'Oh, Koyuki-san, that is much too beautiful for me to wear! I do not mean any offense, but would you not rather me wear something less delicate while I work? It would be terrible if something was to damage this yukata.'
