He dug around in his memories of others, trying to figure out how to make the peices stay together. first he came across the memories of a Halasian blacksmith, when he saw how fire and heat melted metal and how it could be remade. of course knowing how and trying to make a body that never had done it work correctly was a different matter. so he looked for a way to make that kind of heat without the efforts blacksmithing needed. he found a conjureor summoning a salamander, the animal form of a fire spirit. it breathed flames that were hot enough to do the task, even it's tongue could do it. but could he get a salamander to respond?

he sat stone still, not even his tail moved, his eyes staring into space, and into teh realm of spirits. he saw the spirits of animals, thier spiritual power radiated. he could sense the ghosts of the manor, he coudl see teh ancestors. however the Grey fields were not where he was heading, and soon images in red appeared, and he felt the heat as he tried to touch the plane of fire, seeking the animal spirit of a salamander. the beings moved that were made of coal with lava in thier visible viens, the ones that were like living torches. he'd tried to get them to come before, these where the ones that great magi used as guardians and servants.

He coudl feel his fur starting to singe, he was pushing the barrier between flesh and spirit to mantain his link to this place. he found a salamder, and beckoned to it, to see if it would respond. the lizard seemed more than eager, and moved toward him. then the images faded, and Cymarron blinked. on the table was a salamander, red as ruby with golden markings. Cymarron grinned, pleased with himself, and the salamander looked up. and it's first action in the physcial world was to shoot a stream of fire from it's mouth at the one that brought it here.

Her features held no emotion as she had stood there watching this all. Watching the secret that Soulforge carried within it. Her arms hung limp at her sides as she watched, and when it was over...only a single twitch came from her fingers. "He's....dead?" More of a rhetorical question, seeing as it would not be answered at all. A look of horror now filled her eyes and her breathing hitched in her throat as she sunk down to her knees on the floor, staring at it. "Saradin's...dead...." She shook her head almost defiantly. "No!" Anger now took the place of that horror and she slammed a hand on the stone floor. "I killed him...he left because of me...and now he's dead...dead...Saradin..." And despite her trying to hold then back, the tears came, hot streams making their way down her cheeks. He had always come back before, always. No matter what had happened. This was his home and Saradin had always come back. "No..." The others....what would they think? Unforgivable. They all loved Saradin. And she had gotten him killed. Instincts took over. Aura was up off the floor in a second and running up the stairs from the basement, taking them by two. Yanking herself around the doorway she sprinted down the corridor to the main doors. She had to get out. Her thief instincts were telling her to run and she was. Run before they catch and kill you. Shoving open the front doors she stopped a moment and looked back at the phoenix carved on them. It mocked her. Tearing her eyes away she ran again, out the iron wrought gates and the stone walls of the manor, seeking to be lost, even if for a brief moment in the forest beyond.

After a few burns, setting three cabinets on fire, scorching the table, and several buckets of water, Cymarron had a firm grip on the salamander, and had used it like a human might use a blowtorch to weld the sais back together, good as new. Now he didn't know what to do with it, not knowing how to send it back, and quite frankly too scared to let it loose...so he stuffed it into a freezer, hoping the cold would either kill it or at least contain it, and picked up the sais. He saw aura run by and went to tell her he fixed her things, and frowned when she just bolted out the door into the wild.

He looked at the sais, and set them on a table by the door, and moved over to a couch, and flopped down on it, idly scratching behidn his ears and curious as to what had made aura bolt.

Running came to a dead stop as she slammed into a tree. Sitting at its base she breathed heavily, trying to get her heart to slow down. And more importantly her mind. She didn't know what to do at all. Saradin...gone. And because of her. Aura could already see the pain in the eyes of those that lived there with her when they found out. What? Dead. Why? Because of her. Forgiveness? Never. Her hands raised to wipe at the rain water on her face. Rain. How fitting for her. Aura didn't bother to move for the time being, she had no idea what to do. How to tell. They would hate her.

Vik sat in the large clearing he woke up in, staring at his now blank wrist. The golden dragon which was once emblazed on his arm was now gone. "Munalisk..." Vik pulled his sleeve down and rebuttoned it. It had been about 4 months since he had last heard any sign of him. "Where are you..." Sighing, he slowly got up and started walking back to the manor. He stopped when he heard the sound of heavy breathing and faint sobs. He started walking in the direction they were coming from and found Aura. Slowly, he walked up and kneeled beside her. "Hey. What's wrong?"

Aura froze for a second, then her head jerked to the side and she saw Vik kneeling next to her. Jumping up from her sitting position she took a step back from the boy. And lied. "N-nothing is wrong. Just...a little...freash air. yes, I just needed some air. You know how crowded it is back at the manor." She looked at him almost cautiously.

Vik stared doubtfully at her. He could tell she was not alright. "Look, Aura. We've been through a lot. You know you can trust me."He stood up and leaned against the trunk of the tree. "Now, tell me. What's wrong."

"Well...it's. It's Saradin. He's...left again." Aura couldn't bring herself to say the word dead. Saradin and dead just didn't fit together in the same sentence. "I'm just...a little down in the dumps over it. You know me..." Brushing a few wet strands of hair from her eyes she looked to him again. "What are you doing out here anyway?"

"Saradin leaving? That hardly seems worth lying about, much less crying over." Vik let out a small sigh, thankful that it wasn't anything serious. "As for what I'm doing out here, I'm not so sure myself. I woke up in that small grove of trees yesterday." he said, waving in the direction of the clearing. "I had no idea how I got there. Guess I must have sleep-walked. Anyways, I thought it would be worth investigating. Plus I'd have some quiet time for thinking." Vik decided not to mention the feathers, since he didn't think they were of any importance. "So, you have any idea when Saradin's coming back?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 01, 2005 3:15 pm

"I'm over reacting about it I guess..." Shaking her head she gave a sigh. "He didn't mention when he was coming back this time. I got the word second hand." A moment in silence passed, then she forced a skillfully faked smile. "Sleep walking are you? That's not good. Could end up anywhere."

"You got that right. It's not like he's dead or anything." Vik gave a small laugh. "Don't worry. He'll come back soon. You can never stay away from this place for too long. Especially if you have no other place to call home. Believe me, I know how THAT'S like." He returned her smile, even though he knew perfectly well it was fake. "Yeah. I should really consider locking my door at night. I might sleep-walk right into the pond or off the second floor window."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 01, 2005 3:30 pm

"Yeah...dead." She waved a hand, showing that she was brushing off the word just as he had. "Seems Saradin can't be killed doesn't it." A brief pause from her before she gave him a slight smile. "Nice to know that the manor is 'home' to others than just Saradin...or perhaps its only said because I cast a spell on you and you all can't leave...I am a 'witch' you know." Playing off the village joke then she shrugged and looked to him again. "And unless you can float, fly, or breath water...no, you don't want your sleep walking to lead you in those directions."

Vik raised an eyebrow. Him saying Saradin being dead was only meant to be a joke, but he could tell Aura didn't take it that way. "Is Saradin dead?" He thought. Aura could be trying to cover up for him, trying to make everyone feel more comfortable. "No. That's impossible. Saradin isn't that careless." He quickly shook the thought out of his head. "Who knows. Maybe you are a witch. Maybe this whole place is just an illusion. All I know is, as long as this cursed thing is still on me," he motioned at his right hand, the resting place of the cursed scar," I can't go back to Laputa. The minute I set foot within their walls, I'd be arrested and executed for treason."

The manor was a great house, though oddly miss-shaped. The air was potent with scent of Snow, and the winds cared the hushed voice of Nelphean... Ke'Nel walked slowly towards the doors of the manor, and felt the energies within. Two energies stood out, Nelphean with his dream spell, and another full of tears... Ke'Nel listened for the spirits and wondered which path he should walk.

"Good Corellon, which way should this servent walk?"

A gentle wind blew towards the doors, but curved and ventured around the manor. Ke'Nel smiled, and followed the breeze... Walking slowly, two voices began to be present, one of a forlorn girl, the other of a troubled youth. Ke'Nel's eyes partially closed as he listened to their conversation...

Death is not always to be feared, nor is it the end of one's journey.

When the duet was in sight, Ke'Nel stopped and waited for an appropriate moment to say hello. The girl, the one who's quiet tears drew Ke'Nel's thoughts was very familiar...

"Hello Aurahkah, champion of Eclipse." He turned his attention to the rebel, "And Hello to you too, Mageling."

"That's a bit hasty I would say...but what can I say. I lived in a time where things like that happened everyday." She shrugged. "And if I was a witch, I wouldn't spend my time making up illusions to play hostess to people...I'm sure I'd be creating havoc of greater proportions." She then turned, hearing her and Eclipse's names. "Um hello there...and how is it that you know my name?"

Eclipse lay on the bed, Ecara lying next to him on her stomach as she was finishing up the dictionary she had started. With quite the speed too. He was reading with her, but more of helping than reading out of interest like she was.

A few moments later she closed the book, giving a happy smile to the wolf. "Ecara done." Sitting up she threw her arms around him, giving him a hug before kissing his nose.

"You know the meaning of the word "I" yet you still call yourself by your name." He gave a laugh. "You've been around Cymarron too much."
