Darius actually woke up in the manor for the first time in a while. His wings flayed out to almost their full length with his tail dangling unmoving just above the floor. There was a calm look on his face as he lay staring at the ceiling. He wasn't free the voice still plagued him, but while he stayed hidden here he'd time to breathe before they came after him. His body couldn't stay still for too long, so he got up to wander the Mansion to stop in front of the fireplace and stare into the everlasting flames.

Nailah chuckled. "I don't think everyone at the manor will like being compared to puppies but oh well." She tilted her head and said "If you are friends with me or Bastet Aura would. Bastet would probably be good. She's kind of like a black sheep too. And there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone knows they are in every family and if you ask me, they often give the family character and intrigue." She smiled. "Take ours for example..well you really can't because we don't have a set pattern. Okay yours then. You have Coban and Jaxom currently. The beginning and end of a line. They are both highly skilled in magic. Somewhere in there is you. You were a swordsman. A warrior if you will. What would have happened if someone in your family came against an enemy that could not be defeated with magic. THen your talents would be needed." She nodded satisfied. "But it's in the past. All you have to do is decide which one you want to call your friend."

She looked at him surprised. "Me?" She was a bit taken aback. She had been so busy thinking of others that she hadn't even thought about the most likely choice. Herself. She grinned at him. "I'd love to be friends with you. I like Lotus too. She seems very laid-back and I love the fact she can fix stuff. Makes it easier on us who have Watchers hanging around you know?" She felt a warm glow on the inside and found she really liked that he liked her. She laughed and said "Usually I see both sides. It comes with being an empath. You learn to examine everyone's feelings and take it all into consideration."

He'd been quite innocently staring into the fire when he felt the arms circle him from behind. At first Darius stiffened and expected to be squeezed hard, it'd happened before. Not again. He was about to go invisible when he placed Aurahkah's voice. Well at least he didn't have to worry. But wait she's close to me and she's pretty and she's right between my wings. At this realization he blushed slightly and was glad that she couldn't see it. He managed, "Hello Miss Aurahkah. It seems that I'm not the only thief 'up and about.' You know I could use some practice with my skills." as he scratched behind one horn and killed the blush.

With a soft laugh she released him, laying a hand to his hair in an affectionate pat on the head between the horns. Then waved her other hand dismissively. "Practice, you're still young. Might as well enjoy it before you bog yourself down with too much practicing. And you know me...always wandering around...stealing things and what not." Then she took on a mock anger look at him and crossed her arms. "And what have I told you about my name young man?"


He shrugged. "Told you, I don't do the magic thing." He paused for a moment. "Well you can meet them, just not "meet" them. Their graves are right next to mine." He nodded in the direction he had earlier indicated. "Seems us black sheep aren't too uncommon after all."

He put on more of a tough look and shrugged off the hand on top of his head. "Hm, I don't think I remember. Don't call you old lady in response to young man?" Despite the truth. he let the boyish grin show as he moved away from her and turned around quickly. "But I've got an edge you don't have. Be as quiet as you want but they'll still see you a mile away unlike me. And I can't live much other way than what I've been taught." I can make myself invisible to your eyes and soon to other senses too. He had a small gloating face on now despite her magic, Aurahkah still couldn't go invisible.

He wrinkled his nose at the word cute. "Neh cute. I'm not 'cute.' Though Sir Darius has a nice ring to it." Sounds important. More important than me. He had to give another grin at that nodding approvingly. "And I know you're the better thief, you've been doing it for longer. Why don't you like the formalities then Aura?" It still sounds weird, they show power and respect.
