He shrugged.
"Cymarron can't read. or write, save for the shamanic runes the Old one taught him. other writing and reading was forbidden to ones other than the harem or the diplomats."
He looked at the book, and idly set it down, turnign his attention to Bastet.
"What memories do you wish to go away? memories of your former master and servant's life? something that your elf should not know? somethign you are ashamed of?"
He was rather curious about the only feline humanoid here besides himself, hiw closest connection to others of his own kin.

She tilted her head to the side at the cat creature who stuck around. With a bit of a confused look on her face, "My elf can know anything he wants to know. I will not have secrets from him." She idly skimmed a few more pages as memories came back to her of a fuzzier time period. She toyed with the idea of pulling out her flask with her special mix in it. "I drink to drown thoughts, not necesarily memories. Thoughts of doom that lie ahead, of the secrets I have been charged to keep from friends. I can not keep secrets if things are forgotten and yet you can not forget dying." She stated this in such a way so that it was hard to tell what she was being literal about and what was metaphorical. "The past is hard to face when master and enemies do not die in your head."
She turned and flopped onto her stomach mimicing how the child was when she slinked in. Lazily, a page flipped by using her tail as she propped herself up on her arms. "I know the forbidden things well. Do you want to learn to read other things?"

He titled his head slighty.
"You died, were reborn, and during the spirit walk you learned things you must keep hidden? and you drink hoping these memeories will fade away, or drown? you know of a doom that's comign and you don't want to know it? Is Cymarron part of this doom? does he Hunt well for the pack?"
He looked at the book her tail was flipping through
"Cymarron is unsure. what would Cymarron glean from such learnings?"

She continued flipping, "As far as I know, learning is always a good thing if you can handle what you learn."
She looked up at him and smiled as he picked through what she said, understanding the important parts. "The things I must keep hidden are the reasons I died, and things that resulted from my death, in fact no one is supposed to know I died." She laughed bitter at the fact. "My friends are not to know I died... Drinking prolongs the time you have to react to something." She rubbed at her eyes with her hands, "I need to know of the doom, I just do not need to dwell on it so much. So far, I do not know that you are a part of this doom." She told him she had died, she had to tell someone else. Why not tell a fellow feline?

"What was it like, your travel to the spirit realm? Cymarron is able to talk to the spirits, ask for thier help. Cymarron is good with secrets, no one will know anything that Bastet tells Cymarron."
His tail swished back and forht, ears perked forward to make sure he didn't miss anything she might say, while he looked curiously at her book. She had offered to teach him to read and write in the language most used, but was it worth it? what knowledge did these books hold that he coudl not glean from eating others?

Bastet reflected back to her short travel to the judgement that thankfully did not take place. She closed her eyes and pictured it all clearly, her ba no longer everlasting with her ab devoured. "I was raised and taught on the Egyptian religion. Where my heart would be weighed against Maat's feather which represented the principle of truth and justice. If my heart's sins weighed it down, so that it tipped the scale and weighed more than the feather, then my heart would be devoured by Ammit and I would cease to exsist completely."
After painting a simple picture of it she made eye contact with Cymarron again, "I honestly have not been close to my religion in recent years, but when I died, I pictured this. I do not know if I pictured it because it is true for everyone, true for me, or simply what I expected, but I saw my heart about to be put on the scale, and I am sure it would have been devoured. Then again they might have spared me some for being killed by a friend..." Her sentence trailed off and she merely sat deep in thought a moment.

Cymarron was silent for a moment, letting those images go through his mind. your heart weighed agasint a feather, and if you tipped the scale some creature ate it and you ceased to be.
"Cymarron was taught when one dies, you are judged by those who have gone before you, including those there by your own hands. if you are accepted, you may become one with the Ancestors, to guide and help those to come, and be honored by your decendants and kin. if you are rejected, you will either walk the world a spirit, but one that is not honored, your name forgotten, and unable to affect anything...or you will be condemed to suffer all the misery, no matter how small, that you knowingly or unknowingly caused others."
His ears dropped, and his eyes darkened only slightly.
"Cymarron does not think he will be able to join the Ancestors when his time comes. Cymarron thinks he will be handed to the spirit of his Beast, to be Hunted by it for the rest of Time."

She listened to what he was taught, curious about the difference in spiritual walks. "It seems that we both feel that we would be punished. There is a good side if your heart does not tip the scale, but I believe it is not for me."
"I have killed many, some that deserved it, some that did not. I have commited many of the Forty-two sins, and should not be redeemed."

Nailah sat there, the little boy cradled in her arms. She had been thinking about what Cymarron had said. "He will not hesitate to finish the hunt." she whispered softly. She took a deep breath and prayed to Ra that Tyler's parents hadn't been the victims of a hunt. If they had and Tyler found out about it, he would feel the urge to retaliate. Her little boy would be killed. Cymarron was not playing around. Nailah was certain of it. She pursed her lips. She'd never let anything happen to Tyler. He may not be her flesh and blood but for now she was his guardian. She refused to accept that he may not be with her for very long. If Cymarron tried something she woudl be there. And she would not hesitate to kill.

"By human standards, Cymarron has perhaps killed four in his existance that deserved it. The others were either at the behest of those over Cymarron, or for Cymarron's feeding. Cymarron could never be redeemed to most others."
He shrugged lightly, turning his thoughts to other things that killing and the final trip into the world of spirits. Something to amuse himself.
"Cymarron would ask you what you know of the winged female packmate. the one who is on friendly terms with a white dragon. Cymarron promised the white dragon he woudl not kill and eat her, as he should for her costing him his former home...but Cymarron did not promise that he woudl not torment her when he had an opportunity."

Bastet thought for a moment and finally shook her head. So her suspicions had been right after all. "Winged female packmate on friendly terms with a white dragon. Idalla and Calcy?" Those were the two that seemed to fit the description. "I know Calcy likes to take people on rides only to dump them off for his amusement, and has a door to some other dimension which could cause horror and confusion to anyone that steps in it. Idalla, I do not know much of, other than that people have been uncomfortable around her lately." Vivid thoughts came to her mind but she was not sure what happened was justification for torment and torture. "Just what will you do to torment her?"

Elias had not yet made it out of the bar, when his journey was interupted by a familiar if unwelcomed voice.
"Well if it isn't Elias Murieta, the heartbreaker of a thousand lonely souls." The voice was soft as the falling of spring rain, and her scent was as entoxicating as always, like that of the ocean which Elias loved so much. Her name was Shrada, she had been one of Elias's many loves. She had also been the only immortal Elias had ever been with, it was an experience that neither could forget.
Elias turned to face her a sly smile on his face. She looked as captivating as always, her tall slender body, those black obsidian eyes which seemed to looked into your soul and beyond, those full lips tinged a deep dark red that only came from drinking human blood. Her sensual grin, showcasing her small, but still dealy fang. Her long raven black hair was still her best feature the way it seemed to almost flow like water as she moved closer to him. Her gorgeous Indian features, whose costumes she still wore, down to the jewels upon the hands and feet and her gowns made of the most elogant silk that Elias had ever seen. It had been thirty years since last he had placed a kiss upon her inviting lips and still she was gorgeous as ever, for moment Elias lost himself in her supermatural beauty, and for a moment Shrada reveled in it. "Hello my Indian Goddess, when was the last time that I saw your beautiful face?" Elias said suddenyl dreading the fact that she may answer that question.
Shrada was now directly in front of Elias, she stood a few inches shorter than he, but still she was a tall woman. Her finely jeweled hands delicately carressed his face, gently removing the at that he wore upon his face. Shrada let out a small gasp as she came face to face with Elias's blank white eyes and not the bloodred ones that she had fallen for so many decades ago. "What has happened to you, my dear Aztec warrior?" Shrada said as she looked at him with a mask of sadness.
"Thiry years is a long time, even for creatures as long lived as ourselves, my dear Shrada, many things have happened I have begun to pay for my sins in blood, my own and those of the ones I love." He said in a low powerful voice as he locked his eyes upon her own. One large gently carressed her velvety face, while the other gently wrapped around her waist. Elias did not hesiatate and she dared not stop him, both kissed, the passionate kiss of lovers. For a moment the world stood still, as this once lovers said there hellos, and there good-bye's once more.
Shrada gently removed her lips from Elias's, hovering just above them for a brief instant, her breath as heavy as his own. "I have waited thirty years to ask you this question, Elias Murieta, why did you leave me there that night on the shores of Monte Carlo?" She asked as she gently wrapped her arms around him and placed her head upon his massive shoulder. She closed her eyes, afraid that if she opened them again that Elias would turn out to be nothing more than dream like he had been all other times that he had seen him.
Elias ran his finger through her long, silky hair. "You asked me to, that's why I did not want to leave you there with your sorrow on that night. But you wanted me to leave, asked me never to returned. I tried coming back once, but by then you had left Monte Carlo, left that villa by the sea and the love that he had shared there." Elias said as he raised her head and gently placed a kiss upon her forehead, wiping away the blood tears which were streaming down her face.
"Did you ever really love me?" She asked with bloodtears in her eyes.
Elias did not hesitate in his answer, "Yes, I loved you then more than I loved myself, but our love was not meant to be." Elias said, as he lost himself in her intoxicating gaze once more.
"I would love to one day meant the woman who has stolen the heart of my Aztec Warrior." She said a smile now on her face, both from the flushed look upon Elias's as she ushered those wordsand from the fact that now she knew, that the love between her and Elias had not died just changed, to the love of friends, and not the kind of love with which you share your bed.
"But how.....there is no way?" Elias said truly startled at the comment that Shrada, for once in a very long time Elias had been caught compltely off guard.
"I am a women Elias, I do not need be told this things your kisses tell me everything." She said as she kissed him one more time. "Next time don't wait thirty years to come and see me Elias, I worried that perhaps you had found death before I, and even Joaquin was was worried." she giggled, leading Elias to the door. "Can I at leas know her name?" she asked as both now stood at the threshold to the outside world.
"For you I shall grant this one request." Elias said as he pressed his lip against her ear and spoker her name, so softly that even in a room full of vampires only she heard it. "I wil never forget you my dear Shrada, or those passion filled night we had in Monte Carlo." Elias said as he walked out of the door.
"If ever your bed get to lonely, you know who to call." She said with a smile as she watched him leave. She stayed at the door until she heard the roar of his mighty engines dissapear into the night. "If only she knew what it is she has stolen." Shrada spoke softly to herself as a single bloodtears rolled down her flawless cheek.

Cymarron didn't hesitate, and coudln't hide the hissing sound in the back of his throat.
"Anything and everything that doesn't kill or cause permenant physical injury. I was denied the kill, when the prey was in my jaws. had it been any other being...save Eclispe or the den mother....she would have been eaten. but Cymarron is not a match for a dragon especially when caught offguard and blindsided. The dragon seemed friendly enough, asked many questions of Cymarron, curious one."

It did not take so long for Elias to make back to the manor, this time taking him only hours instead of days, aided in this by his horse and not his car. Elias always left the modern behind when he wandered back to Lady Aura's home. He had been in area where tecnology was still in it infimacy and he prided himself on the fact that he could survive hapiliy without the use of modern man's conviences. Elias still held the large black suitcase in his hand as he once more entered in the manor. His mind and body were exhausted, had he been so easy to read, or was it the fact that Joaquin was one of his most trusted friends, or that Shrada had once been his loving partner? This questions and many others swireld around in Elias's had as he made his way into his room, collapsing unto the bed. For a moment Elias simply lay there his eyes staring at the celling lost in his thoughts.

A snicker escaped her, "Curious, that my friend is an understatement. I believe he could actually challenge me in the curious department."
She could not help but wrinkle her nose at what he said. "I would be a huge hypocrite to say this, since I have tortured for petty reasons before, or mismatched punishment with crime, but though it sounds fun, it is not harsh? Did the dragon not say anything else regarding her safety?"
