Bobby's father glanced at his wife discouragingly and then held his hand out for his son's. His wife walked over to the other beam after nodding and whispering a small apology to Bobby. "Sorry, Bobby"
"You mind if your mother and I practice, just to get our muscles loosened up a little son?"
He looked down to Bobby after they were both Standing on the platform. He pat his sons hair and then pulled the ropes for the swing to that side towards him.
Perrine looked curiously to Grace. Did she not care about her own safety in such a dangerous place. She lay her light little body on his shoulder and closed her eyes. The lights were very bright and bothersome somehow to this new form. There was only so much of it she could take. She would feel much more comfortable if she could just sleep all day and stay up at night and protect Nathaniel. For Grace. Despite the fact that a kitten can't do much to Siff if he were to enter the tent and do something horrible to Nathaniel.
Grace picked up her bucket and Began walking with it, heading to the back of the tent. She waived at Nathaniel to follow.
"We must go clean the elephants pen and feet, then I think we can be done for the day."

Once Bobby reached the high platform he sat down on the edge to let his legs dangle over the side. The boy watched his 'parents'..... it wasn't lost on him, how creepy this was to have his dead parents back as if nothing had happened.... as the two 'Faylands' practiced, Bobby glanced towards the exiting flaps to the large tent in curiosity. Even if he wanted to stay away from Huck and Senna (which he CERTAINLY did not want to be the case though it unfortunately was).... how was this going to work? He swore to stay away from them, but they all worked in the same carnival. It was inevitable, right? Bobby could hope.

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel The two, three counting Perrine, worked together quite nicely. Nathaniel let his kitten stay in his hoodie as he washed the elephant pen, chuckling hoarsely when water sprayed her a bit and she retreated into his hood. The elephants were joys as well, much easier to get along with than the lion, and as he let them suck up water to wash themselves, he stroked their long noses. Again, the elephants were playful and Nathaniel found himself getting wet once more. He laughed as he felt her completely fall into his hood and hang off the back of him as if she were in a bag. The elephants enjoyed spraying him, so he carefully took off his jacket and let Perrine hide just outside of the pen and let her wallow in slight dampness as he got more and more wet. In his tee shirt, he let them spray him as much as they wanted, making sure they got themselves at least a little bit as well, and careful to keep them away from his mask, as they enjoyed grabbing at his loose shirt and drooping wet hair. The day went by quickly, and the two were done by the time Nathaniel's last square inch was soaked. Giggling, he took the water bucket out and stroked one of the elephant's trunks before leaving with Grace. Slowly, he bent to gather his jacket and his kitten. He was sore all over; never before had he worked so hard for so long. He carefully cradled Perrine, trying not to get her wet, trying not to stumble from lack of energy; he still hadn't eaten today. "Miss Grace," he crackled, head drooping. "May I have a towel?" Masquerade. Every face a different shade. Masquerade._______________________________ Look around, there's another mask behind you...

Huck looked at Senna. The first time in a while, he showed a bit of worry in his eyes, despite not looking too particularly troubled otherwise.
"I got this bad feelin' that a*****e Siff has more up his sleeve than we know 'bout . . . uh, pardon my french." he said, kicking himself for using such harsh language around a beautiful person.
"Just was tryin' to make sure nobody was tailin' us, that's all."

"Ce n'était pas français... And I get the similar feeling about Siff. But, yet not. I don't know if I can explain it."
Senna grabbed Huck's hand and started pulling him through a series of small ally way like gaps between several of the tents surrounding the inside perimeter of the Carnival. It became confusing to Senna where they were going, the ways were getting windy and almost mesmerizing. Confusing. But she pulled Huck along with her. It was only about 80 feet that they covered before she stopped to look back to a very heavily fogged small 2 foot wide gap between tents.
"What you say about finding an entrance to one of these tents. There are so many here!"
She looked around almost as if she was overwhelmed by the small space surrounded by many varying sized tents. Senna ran her one hand through her bangs pulling them back as if they were blocking her view, her mouth almost in aw. She let go of Huck's hand and stood staring up at the solid white foggy sky taking a few steps from him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grace was cleaning the tent of the elephants while Nathaniel saw to getting them clean. She was rather impressed by Nathaniel's calmness and willingness to work with such large and potentially dangerous animals. And the animals, most of them, took to Nathaniel pretty well. Although taking to a normal person was better than taking to one of Siff's phantom like puppets. She smiled a little bit and turned picking up a towel and bringing it to Nathaniel.
"Here you go. If you wouldn't mind helping me take these wheel barrels out we'll be done for the day."
She pointed to the wheel barrels filled with some elephant duties.
Perrine hid in his hood after getting wet. It was very uncomfortable having her fur get wet, and made her pretty cold. She realized how tired Nathaniel must have been. That much work and even she would be tired. Now, if she were asked to chase the mice, or rats of this place she would most certainly decline with a bit of irritation. Perrine started to attempt at licking her paws as Nathaniel held her. She didn't like the idea of it, but her paws felt so icky, and she had to do something about it.
Bobby's parents practiced a little before his father returned a landing on the beam where Bobby was. Landing fluidly and gracefully as a Fayland flier would. He held his hand out for Bobby's. When Bobby took his hand he would place his son's hand on the bar of the swing.
"Practice with your mother once... then we could possibly try a three person somersault."
Bobby snapped his attention to his dad and grasped the hand extended to him. Once he was in front of the bar, he exhaled and nodded to his mom, taking a hop off the platform to practice what he had known for as long as he could remember. The kid was aware that if the 'three person somersault' had been brought up not even a week ago, he would have been ecstatic by the thought. It pained him further to notice this particular enthusiasm was gone from his mind. Bobby certainly longed for it, but it simply wasn't there.
Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel Nodding, Nathaniel obediently followed Grace while getting his wet jacket back on. Keeping Perrine in the hood so she could do whatever she needed to do, he took a hold of the wheelbarrow's handles and carted slowly after Grace. He gritted his teeth, huffing to himself as he pushed and feeling his chest constrict with weakness. Just a bit more. Hold the mask on for just a bit more... Taking a deep breath, Nathaniel sucked it up for just long enough to assist Grace and thank her politely for guiding him all day. "If it's alright, Miss Grace, I would like to retire for the day." He reached behind him, now done with work, and carefully took Perrine out of his jacket hood. As she hung limply, he slipped the damp towel from out of his jacket and wrapped it around her to keep her warm as they trekked outside. He bowed slightly to Grace and turned for the bear tent, all the while keeping a careful eye out for Siff. As he got to the bear tent, he made a full 360 to make a final check that he was alone before he slipped into the opening. It was dark--just as he liked it--and there was a few candles by the entrance to light the tent. He lit one, keeping it to the far side of the tent, and carefully approached the bears once more, Perrine still in hand. Luckily, they remembered him, and Ambrose took little attention to him as he stripped his wet clothes off and hung them on a rope to dry. Now just in his underwear, he strode quickly to the back of the room, carefully placing Perrine down. He slowly unwrapped her and slipped the towel from under her. As she was grooming herself, he giggled hoarsely. "Adorable." He then sat and turned around, facing the bucket of water that served as Ambrose and Theo's water bowl. Sighing, Nathaniel got to his knees and leaned over it, carefully reaching behind his head and untying his mask's ribbon. The mask slowly loosened it's grip on his face and he cradled it in one hand, slowly setting it aside to see his reflection in the water. Those dark eyes are so revolting. His lips curled downward as he saw himself yet again glowering back at him. He made sure Perrine couldn't see him as he washed his face from sweat and dirt with his hands. Only the sides of his cheeks could be seen, and they alone held a serrated appearance. It was unclear weather they were riddled with holes or bulging scars. Quickly wiping his face with the towel, he turned to Perrine slightly, the towel covering his face. "You... wouldn't want to see." He turned back to the barrel, bringing the towel back a bit to look at his face again. "You would cower, or repel, or curse this face." He narrowed his eyes at his reflection, their dark brown hating everything they saw. He suddenly brought his hand forward, striking the glassy surface with rage and making his reflection disappear. Sighing, he sat back and washed his mask carefully, letting Perrine see it all she liked. That was the only face she needed to see. Masquerade. Every face a different shade. Huck smirked, his taste for adventure rising as she guided him through the maze of tents, like Tom and Becky through the caves, they stopped at some of the tents. He looked at her and at the tents.
"Huh, well, which one should we go at first, sugar?" he asked, scratching the back of his head underneath his cowboy hat.
"Why do you call me Sugar? And okay..."
Senna put her hand on the tent next to her and followed around it trying to see if there would be an entrance. She kept a slow pace, watching carefully where she stepped. Avoiding the ropes stabilizing the tents and the stakes keeping the ropes pinned to the ground that seemed to so easily avoid while running down that way with Huck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grace headed back to her tent when her shoulder was caught. She turned to see that Siff had grabbed her shoulder.
"I'm heading to my tent, Nathaniel is staying with Ambrose."
Siff glared at Grace with small pout like grunt.
"Fine, Whatever."
He let go of her shoulder and watched her a moment as if silently communicating to her that something was upsetting him, angering him. She shot a look to the entrance to the Carnival down Midway and then back to her, his head not moving an inch.
"Fix the problem. Huck and Senna. Find them and bring them to me in the big top."
"Sir, th- yes... but how am I supposed to know where they are? You should know shouldn't you"
Grace had a mix of confusion and worry stirring within herself. She had never seen Siff so twitchy, angry or upset. Never seen him so worried or full of expression before. Sure he was being a little unusual as of late. Letting so many new comers in but now these new comers were only making his actions worse. Worse than they had been for as long as this circus had been trapping workers.
Siff smiled, and chuckled a moment sarcastically before snapping to a more serious expression.
"Funny but- No. Go get them, NOW. I don't need to explain myself."
Grace started walking glancing at him a moment in submission before a slight bow and departing. There was no point to argue with him. She learned this, the many things he made her endure was too terrible to endure again. "Where would they go? Better check places that they shouldn't be at first..." She thought heading to the entrance of the Carnival where she would then split off into a few select areas that are forbidden to pass through.
Siff walked towards the big top. When he made it inside he pulled a chair to the center ring and sat, waiting quietly in shadow. As if exhausted he hung his head, allowing his bangs shadow his face almost completely. He rested his arms on his legs and pressed into a more mellow, almost dormant state to regain some strength. Or concentrate on the energies of the carnival.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bobby's mother was ready and signaled a look to her son as she pulled back on the bar and swung off. This nod demonstrated that she was going to do a in mid air. The first swing was a build of momentum and on the second round she held her arms out, catching her son's arms as he let go of his swing and flipped to her mid air. She hung upside down, her legs holding to the bar of her swing. Her silence was almost too much in this action, she couldn't feel her own breath as she performed though she breathed. She could see and hear her voice. It was unfamiliar and uncomfortable for her. "My son, I hope he will not notice." She thought in this small moment of time she held him before his swing returned in the center with them and she helped him into a flinging role allowing him to flip back and catch his swing in time. How well they could do such things in an instant, so natural that it was almost second nature to them. Auto pilot, and their thoughts of other things could continue to haunt them.
She landed softly on the platform back where she started and paused a moment watching Bobby land on the other platform near her husband. She held her hand out signalling Bobby to stop.
Bobby's father touched his hand to his son's shoulder and looked down at him with a smile.
"I think you're mother is a little tired. Shall we practice?"
If there was something off about either parent, Mr. Fayland felt that it was Mrs. Fayland that showed it more than anything. He felt sorry for his wife. She was very very close to Bobby before the accident. It wasn't fair for Bobby or her that they had to come back. But Mr. Fayland felt like it was a chance that he and his wife could use to protect their son despite their feeling out of place... and the current air that was surrounding this miracle, curse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perrine cleaned her paws while sitting behind Nathaniel. She might not hate him, he didn't know her or her reactions. But would he hate her if she tried to peak? Perrine finished her paw cleaning right before Nathaniel began cleaning his mask. She slowly crawled around, as sneakfully as she could on her delicate paws. She spotted the side of his face and the mask. "The holes in the mask are so small, how could he see" She wondered. Perrine yawned from exhaustion breaking her sneaking to see Nathaniel. When she realized this she ran behind him to appear as if she wasn't trying to get into trouble. "Sorry, I didn't mean to try and look" She thought. Curled up in a small ball behind him.

Huck blushed stoplight red for a brief moment. "I-uh . . . well I can stop if you want me to . . ." he said. He clearly didn't have a reason TO call her that, it just fit right. Then again, was he falling too fast? What seemed to be going on in that head of his.
The thoughts seemed to fly around in his head. Senna, escape, kick Siff's a**, Senna in a bikini, barbecue, how to get the words together to ask Senna on a date, where his motorcycle was, Senna, how many throwing knives he had in case someone was after them and, you guessed it . . .
What in the hell is behind this tent flap?!?
He followed Senna, trying to find an entrance to the tent with her.

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel Though he knew Perrine was around him, Nathaniel didn't suspect her to sneak to get a peek of him. On instinct, he turned his head away quickly and brought his mask a bit closer to his face. As she retreated behind him again, Nathaniel calmed down slightly and pursed his lips thoughtfully. Sighing, he blew on the inside of his mask and refastened it on his face. Carefully tying a knot with the ribbon on the back of his head, he turned to face her. After a while of seemingly solemn silence, he laughed weakly. "There's something..." He reached forward and picked her up carefully, bringing her close to his mask to see her better. "Different about you. I just know it." He sighed, sitting perfectly still. "If only I could see past it," he whispered. "Your mask, I mean." He stroked her cheek with his thumb lovingly. After a while of staring at her, he sighed and stood with her in his arms, sitting himself in the middle of the room. He placed her next to him, scratching her behind her ears as he watched Ambrose and little Theo slink over to where he was and lay next to him. The bear's fur felt warm against his bear skin. He felt his head get wearily heavy and gazed at Perrine again. "Oh well... I'll find out sooner or later..." He lay down, letting her lay in front of his face with his arm curled around her. "... what beautiful thing your mask is hiding." Masquerade. Every face a different shade. Masquerade._______________________________ Look around, there's another mask behind you...

After Bobby landed next to his dad, he looked across the way to his mother. He nodded shortly, frowning as he thought.
"Maybe...you should rest. Are you tired?"
He stared up at Mr. Fayland curiously. They had just arrived... and if Mom was 'tired', or if that's why she was acting differently... maybe Dad was tired too.

Once Senna and Huck made there way around the tent and found the entrance there was a slight problem to entering. The tents door flaps were sewn shut. Senna looked back to Huck and held her hand out.
"May I borrow one of your knives Huck?"
Grace headed for the first tent that they shouldn't enter. A tent trail that no one should enter. She knew of a few older members of the Carnival that hid in those tents out of Siff's sight that were ordered to stay there for their disobedience and as punishment. Grade took out a stick from a pile of kindling on the way through and was ready to use this large, bat like, stick to use as self defense. And if necessary to hit the two before they saw anything that they would soon regret.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I wish we all didn't have to hide our true selves" She thought. Perrine tried climbing out of Nathaniel's hold so that she may wander around a bit. And perhaps protect him if anyone were to suddenly enter the tent uninvited. Not that the bears wouldn't do the same thing. They actually frightened her a lot. She'd never seen bears and knew they were big, but now that she was a kitten, the bear towered over her like a ten story building. She waved one of her paws out grabbing lightly at the dirt and meowed. "Can I go?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Fayland took the swing after it came back and looked to his son.
"I'm fine son. Really, I think we just need to practice for old times sake. I don't know how long we were gone and you were a little shaky out there on your flip."
He raised a brow to his son, almost as a "Ready to practice" Sort of gesture. Mr. Fayland didn't want to be rough on Bobby. But if they didn't keep Bobby working who knew how Mr. Siff would react. His wife wasn't helping much at all. As much as she cared for Bobby, and felt horrible about their return to him... she needed to get rid of those thoughts, and think more about what's important. "I care about my son too. But keeping this a work for Siff is the only way we can stay." He thought.

Huck pulled it out, spinning it a bit like a drummer's twirl before handing the knife to Senna, handle out towards her. "Here y'are. Careful with it, it's kinda sharp." he said as he held onto it so that he knew she had it safely before he let go of the blade.

Senna took a hold of the blade's handle and gripped it tightly. She stabbed it into the sewed seam of the door at her farthest reach. She was almost on her toes, the blade pointed to the ground she pulled on the handle with her weight ripping the stitching strait down. A large tearing sound silenced the air as the blade hit the ground after cutting fairly easily through the good work that someone put into making it so no one could enter. Senna stood up and handed the blade back to Huck barely holding the handle so that there was room for him to grab it.
"I wonder could possibly be in this tent, for it to be sealed like this."
She said. A howl of wind, a breeze rushed past her blowing her hair back a bit. A shiver ran up her back and she stiffened to a solid firm stance.
"Am I the only one who just got creeped out by that?"
