"Ah, right. Let's get started, shall we?"

Rai pointed out a few calculus problems and explained what he was stuck on.

"Yawn~" Remi sighed, rubbing her eyes. "I'm retiring for the night. I'll finish up my homework before Math Class after lunch. Later!" She waved, walking out the room.

"G'night." She walked upstairs. "You guys should get to bed soon, too!"

Dae had closed the store up for the night and slipped off her Kimono, leaving her in the clothes she had just worn in the morning. She stuffed it in the back room, and took her bag to start walking home. "What a long night.. hopefully everyone's asleep by now."

Rai smiled and nodded at Kotori. He stayed silent. when he departed to his room, he went through his gymbag. His white gym shirt and blue shorts were in there, along with a black cape and student outfit. To top it all off was a shiny black leather student cap. He changed into the student outfit and put on the cap. It didn't hide much of his white and wild hair. He was about to head outside. Then it hit him.

"My journal!" he reminded himself. He slapped his forehead and whirled around to snatch up the journal. He observed the several categories he had jotted down. He walked outside into the cool night breeze. He gently shut the door behind him and didn't bother checking if he shut it all the way. He dug around in his uniform pants' pocket. He pulled out a tiny tin can of delicious tuna. He opened it up and set it down.


"Here kitty kitty" he whispered.

A small black cat with oval moss green eyes walked out from an alley. It purred and approached Rai, slowly swaying its tail. It sat down in a well mannered position.
"Rai, I may be a cat but I am still your mentor. I do appreciate the gift though" he greeted. He bent down and slowly nibbled away at the tuna.

"My apologies Gouto. Just didn't want to act too out of the ordinary. The dorm has a strict regulation against pets. Agaki looks like the type to be allergic to cats. The bust on a young lass in there would be far too tempting for one as fond of milk as you" Rai replied.

Gouto finished his snack and let out a squeaky burp. "Ah, trout. Excellent choice, Rai. I have not tasted such since my days with Johei" he complimented.

Rai sighed.
"Johei-San...." he mumbled to himself.

Gouto tilted his head. "Oh, right. Sorry to bring him up, Rai. Cheer up! I've seen some beautiful demons around here just waiting to get their hands on a charming young devil summoner such as you" he chuckled. His expression grew serious, and his voice firm.
"Now then 'Raidou Kuzunoha XV', shall I explain the circumstances right now?"

Rai shook his head.
"No need, Gouto. The life of demons in the area have progressively dropped and there's been a large activity of these...Shadows I heard our client call them. From the ones I've seen so far, they looked like cracked up versions of demons. As if they're mutant versions" he explained as they strolled through the dark streets. Rai was raised by Johei and Gouto to become the next Kuzunoha, and has the ability to see demons. It took awhile to get used to, especially after a certain event.

Rai and Gouto continued to walk, discussing top secret information.

Gouto suddenly stopped them. "I detect someone close by..." he warned.
