Writers' Strike. Production has halted and we're getting nothing until it's resolved.

So they flat out lied in the advertising, when they said the story continues online? Classy.

Most of them are written ahead of time. And I'm not sure if the comic writers are a part of the WGA.

They're a union. If there's anyone cultish in the strike, it's the AMPTP. Give the writers their 2.5%, damn it!

They've been trained not to crack. domokun I remember the MTA strike a few years back, they went well past the deadline and didn't give crap despite it affecting everyone immediately and affecting hard.
When you put it that way it's true, they're a union, and they're just doing their job, but I get peeved when people in the entertainment business complain so much, because that's just how it friggin' is. They chew you up and spit you out, especially on tv deals, so why would you get into such a line of work knowing what it's like? Besides that you actually get payed more than some other jobs that bust your a** way more.

Unions are formed by people in the same trade for protection, so they won't get abused by higher-ups, and then fired if they complain. Face it- the writers are being abused. They aren't getting paid for new media, like iTunes downloads or Internet streaming in general. The difficulty of other jobs is irrelevant, because these people who are being abused and fighting back because of it are writers in the entertainment business.
If they fold now, take the AMPTP's consistent crap, and go home with nothing (or even reduced pay), then think of the example that they're setting for other unions, for other AMPTPs.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Even if they were as overpaid as actors, it's not like they're making other people join their cause, they are just people refusing to work until they get what they should already be getting. It just seems so whiny and irrelevant when compared to things like sweat shops.
I always get the image of something like "That's not fair, Darcey gets a 100 dollar weekly allowance, why do I only get 50?" "Because she's older!" and "Why can't I have food today, I worked hard!" "Because there just plain isn't any left."

I did research project on Ebola last year. It was fun.
On topic! Um, last week's comic with Adam was pretty good. And *another* wife? Dun-dun-dun. This week's is with Richard Drucker, Hana Gitelman's (Anybody remember her?) uncle, but it's mostly for people who've been following the Heroes ARGs/Hana's blog. So, I didn't read it.

The lady from Israel who could talk to and manipulate the internet with her mind. She convinced Ted and Matt to go after Mr. Bennet, which is how we got Company Man. In Five Years Gone, she helped Bennet forge new identities for Heroes. She died in an online comic, though. This week's is pretty interesting.
