((ok, no whacking for trace. today))
kiare sat down on axel's lap and summoned a spirit. talking to it in a strange, musical language, she found out quite a bit.
"apparently, it was, but it was just a minor tracing enchantment. still, the ring wasn't the first magical item these thieves took. according to the spirits, they've taken just about anything that holds magic from this and surrounding towns."

Opens door carefully. An elderly man steps out wearing a pure white robe decorated around the edge with gold inlay. "How may I help you children?"

((very similar. it's designed to bond two soulmates together. there's a little thing they have to say, and then a spell from the priest/ess, holy person, etc. just make some words up, that'll be fine.))
kiare followed the priest to his sitting room, where they all sat, axel pulling kiare onto his lap. kiare explained why they were there to the priest.
((does the priest have any spiritual powers? like, can he sense that they're not human?))
